We went there for lunch. I had the Wine Roasted Lamb Shank. It was to die for.
The staff are really friendly and the decor is plush and comfortable. We only drank soft drink but 43 Below is primarily a bar so it has plenty of beers wines and spirits on sale.

We have dined and drank at 43 Below on and off for several years, having resided in the city. As we have moved away, this last lunch was a fond farewell to a much loved haunt. The dishes are hearty, generous and contain quality ingredients. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Recommended.

Very easy to miss but certainly a hidden treasure! We tried some tapas, each to their own with the pineapple and pork skewers! Everything else tasted great and they have daily specials. Staff were very friendly.

This bar totally serves its purpose, but its 2-3 star pub. Food is ok, beers are ok, no atmosphere, but you can bring 12 people here for a pub lunch and know you will get a table and likely be in and out in under an hour. Not a place for first dates ;p

So tasty. Especially cheese chix one.
It’s underground but light enough and cozy.
Definitely coming back.

Reminds me of the bar from Cheers 😁 Great little place for drinks 🥂, haven't tried the food but what we saw looked good. Prices really reasonable & staff were friendly too. Will grab a bite to eat next time we visit!

Ran out of steak sandwiches at 6.30 pm. Kitchen staff were unfriendly. The fire alarm went off due to smoke from the kitchen. The bar was good, but generally disappointing.

Nice underground place, classic style pub with friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. I enjoyed my meal, it was just what I needed!

Nice normal pub, not pretentious just relaxed atmosphere live music, definitely my favourite hangout now

Nice bar with a good vibe. Upbeat music playing in the background, and happy, friendly staff.
I had the beef goulash with mash potatoes, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

It was the first time I ventured into the subterrene bar, where after some time, I left and was glad that I gave it a go. A very casual bar that has Irish DNA throughout. It is worth dropping in, there’s a lot to explore, and you will be rewarded for your effort. Likely to be a great bar if you are meeting up or post work drinks.

Incredible foods and service. Would more than recommend to anyone wanting a good meal for a fair price. Amazing staff and even better food here.

Great venue, great Quiz Night. Ace the quizmaster is awesome. The food is good. Great specials all the time. Good selection of drinks as well.

Friendly staff, pretty quick bar service during a busy service *dinner time on a friday*. Food prices are pretty excessive considering it's everyday pub food (I come from a city with a lot of pubs and bistros). Some chairs are a little unstable but it's not falling apart. Pretty good range of drinks. Pretty good atmosphere around the centre a new carpet would do the place wonders. Compared to other bars in the vicinity it is 5 stars for having a classic feel. I felt a little nervous walking down the stairs but as soon as I reached the ground I felt that familiar pub feeling. Clientele are pretty standard I didn't feel fear or anything and most seemed Friendly. Drink prices are good. I didn't see any elevators and there isn't a ramp so I don't think it's wheelchair friendly.
In short: it's a pub with food, friendly staff, okay atmosphere and good drink prices what else do you want? 5 stars.

Didn't have any food, just popped in for a pint. On holiday from England, found the bar staff friendly, bar clean and tidy, had a pint of VB never tasted it before 👍, bang on.

A welcoming and friendly little local pub in the basement, always worth a visit when in the city. Good beer and food, open from 9am

A very good Bar & Restaurant with a lot of potential to be much, much better, this venue needs to have live entertainment to bring more than the usual half dozen or so patrons you'll see most days/nights, also the lighting definitely needs to be toned down it's quite bright inside which does nothing for the ambience of this very unique below ground Bar.
The saving grace of this venue is what the Chef serves up, I have no complaints only compliments, try the Lamb Shank you will not be disappointed.
To recap: A Bar with much potential but falls short in ambience with the saving grace being what the Chef serves on to your lucky table.
