Wednesday night karaoke is AMAZING 🤩 so much fun, great vibes, everyone can have a go and "talent" absolutely does not matter. Get up there and have a go I promise you won't regret it! Staff are all great too.

Was a great atmosphere and music generally good, but would prefer more australian music of that era and no repeat plays of other things...........So the music list needs a huge expansion

The initial reason that a few of us went here was because it was the only place that had karaoke at 12AM. And the reference to #BTTF was so apparent!! But once we descended the stairs and walked past the arcade games, the music just mad us all forget karaoke and we literally danced the night away! The DJ did not disappoint one bit. Played every song from the 80s.
We forgot about the Karaoke and just stayed on the dance floor till closing time.
Highly recommend for 80s music fans and those that were lucky enough to grow up in the 80s.
Truly when this thing got up to 88mph, you got to see some serious s***!!!

The dancefloor is great, good atmosphere, good music, pizza to eat here is soooo yum! Occasionally, there will be people who get a bit full on but security does well to make sure it's a safe and fun environment.

That's not my kind of place but that's no excuse for a bad review. The down side of it is the drink prices X sizes are bad. Nevertheless, they are able to bring the 80's vibe, offering a cool dance floor and some fliperama. Music is mainly 80's and 90's as expected. When i was there, there was a few hen parties going on and some people dressed on those times style.

Small in a basement. Been dance floor. Booths mostly to sit at. Gets busy late. Has karaoke Wednesdays. House Spirits at $13! Aparantly the most expensive I'm Canberra! No pokies. Staff friendly.

Really good vibe here for the older crowd, good music, good crowd and a great atmosphere. Definitely worth checking out if you would like a night out on the town without the typical young airhead vibe.
Definitely will be going back.

Owners are specialists in achieving a goal they setup to achieve with their venues! This venue literally make me feel like I’ve travelled back in time to the 80s! As does mollys makes me feel like I’m in a prohibition bar, bleachers makes me feel like I’m in the bleachers and highball makes me feel like I’m in a classy bar! Bravo Lala 👏 literally spoiling canberrans

Noah, piper and Issy have been so amazing with us tonight! We also work in hospitality and our group was roaming the city tonight and the service here is near and far! Absolutely blew us away service wise, attention to detail and banging drinks! Will be returning! Thank you for the awesome service 🙏

I was kicked out today because the passive-aggressive manager asked me to 'sit up straight' whilst on the lounge. I was lounging and when I didn't conform, I was told ''it's not your lounge room' and was told to 'get out' and dragged to the door by security. I was sober, driving and I didn't want a confrontation so I left.
What a way to treat a sober customer. A very disappointing experience, for a city visitor and I won't be returning.
Furthermore, I met 2 young ladies who were underage who apparently attended regularly but know the bouncers who let them in

It was a quiet night for Wednesday karaoke...even the DJ said so. The mocktails we ordered seemed extremely overpriced and weren't even made from fresh ingredients. The floorplan/ layout didn't seem very conducive to karaoke performance mostly because the screen with the lyrics was blocking the view of the performance. It was nice to see the bar staff dressed in theme with the cocktail movie but the black walls and neon lights were not that inviting

Incredible bar, atmosphere, dance floor, karaoke, and staff! Friendliest and nicest place I visited in Canberra! 10/10! Definitely recommend visiting! Great priced drinks and 80s atmosphere! Thanks for playing Pat Benatar on the dance floor!

i love it here, the music is always amazing and the staff are always so nice and helpful, the general atmosphere of the place is just such a good time and i always love coming here. massive fan of the drag nights especially!!!!!

I had a farewell party there and accidentally left my farewell gift there. Management of this bar is in a different location and the refused to call the staff at the bar to check if my gift was in lost property, because the bar phone number isn’t available to the public. I didn’t think it was a big as for them to make a simple phone call to help me find my gift, but I guess it was…

I booked 88MPH for a private function and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The options for the different food and drinks packages were clearly explained and easily customisable so I got exactlywhat I wanted without having to compromise.
the menue had a wide variety with heaps of vegetarian and gluten free options and on the night all the food was delicious.
The staff that worked my event were absolute professional but still fun. They kept all my guest happy and were incredibly accommodating. They deserve all the credit for my party being a night I will never forget. Thank you Max, Issy, Piper, Rory and Maia you are superstars!!

Hidden down stairs in a snug spot , Dark , but splashes of neon colours, Dance floor is tiled led lights which is cool. The VHS menus didn't scan for a menu only went to a Covid page , And no menus could be seen Anywhere even on the bar back wall! drinks were on the High end The DJ was ok On this particular night.

Hands down the best club ever. Had the best night dancing to the good old 80s hits on a light up dance floor. The DJ takes song requests as well, so if there’s one song that you really want to bust a move to you can! The cocktails were delicious, they even had alcohol slushies!. Thought it was really cool how the drinks menu was in an old VHS covers. Will definitely be back.

Don't go here if you want to have fun or finish a drink.
Bar Staff extremely rude and kept trying to take away full drinks from our table. Even after us telling the guy some of the girls were in the toilet or dance floor. We went here for a fun night out for a hens, only to be let down. The DJ was great. Big let down that's for sure.

A wonderful 80s style bar. Neon everywhere, light up disco dancefloor, arcade games and pinball machines with solid 80s tunes playing all night. What more could you want.

Amazing place. Great for a dance and a drink. It's a good mix of 30 and 40 year olds and 18 year olds. Come in for a good time and a total flashback

Always a fun night, full of fun and friendly people. Drinks are a little expensive, but you'll love the place on Friday and Saturday nights. All ages mingle freely here and have fun to 1980's music. You'll love it!

88mph used to be my favourite place ever. A few years ago it was amazing! Post covid the vibe has changed and I've noticed that it isn't as popular as it once was. I can understand why... It's really unfortunate because I don't want to see this place close down. Back in the day I would've given all 5 stars.
A few months ago I was here and noticed that the sound system was so pitchy that I couldn't enjoy dancing on the dancefloor. I left with pain in my ears. It seems like 88mph needs something new and exciting to bring in more people once again.
