Ainslie Football & Social Club

We went here for schnitzel and drinks on a weekend night, it was absolutely fine. I wouldn't be raving to go again but if someone said we were going there I wouldn't be sad. It's a big venue so can get quite noisy.

Update from March 2024 - still excellent menu served by courteous staff. Value for money and relaxed atmosphere to enjoy the hospitality. Still allowing baseball caps in the dining area. Food and service are all of a high standard with friendly staff, although it was a bit hit and miss for non regular members on a Saturday afternoon as to what happened in the restaurant and how meals were chosen and then ordered. Staff seemed to be focused on other things. Still one of the best clubs in Canberra with easy to access parking and entry into the facility. Did I mention the baseball caps?

Today I and my Friend were at Lunch at Ainslie Football Club ⚽️, wonderful lunch 😋, we had Barramundi with chips 🍟 😋 and tart sauce with lemon 🍋 baked. Ainslie Club has wonderful 💙 Staff that take you to the table 😉, there's service 😀 is the best 👌. Open from 10am to about 11pm, to get the Lunch and Dinner, coffee ☕️ or tea 🍵 with cupcakes 🧁 or cake 🎂 🥮 many more wonderful products. The first time that we came to the Club was at Christmas day, they volunteer to help the Family's and community how 🤔 have no families or come out of the city, or country, have something special for them, open for the day at Ainslie Club a Christmas lunch 💙 🙏. Thank you Ainslie 😊 Club. Special Day in July a Christmas day, come and have a wonderful meal 😋 and coffee ☕️ at that day. Hope you can come to the Christmas lunch every year. This venue is amazing. The staff members are polite and friendly. The food and beverages are exceptional.

This place is an institution!! 10/10 amazing food, even better service! A group of 5 of us were in Canberra for work and couldn’t stay away! 4 nights out of the 5 found us sitting in the outdoor dining, eating cheap delicious food!

This place awesome! Bring your mates to watch footy on their big screen. The staff are awesome and friendly. It's my new fave spot for footy, and they've got loads of tasty food options too!

There was ample parking, easy access to the club, and helpful staff at the reception area. The decor was pleasant and finding a table was easy. The staff were helpful and quick. The food choices were what you'd expect in a club like this and the size of the servings were generous. The food was well cooked, fresh, and value for money. The small membership fee is worth it considering the savings received on each dish. I plan to visit again.

Previously, I liked this place. However, when I visited the cafe and the restaurant currently, an Indian girl in the cafe counter always strolled around my table and watched me. When I visited there next time, she started taking a place to sit down next to my table on the terrace. There were more available tables including indoor side. Is there no privacy for the customers??? The customers are not your friends!!!

Popped in for a quick lunch, as soon as we entered the air-conditioning was a relief from the heatwave outside. We ordered the pumpkin risotto, with chicken, as well as the seafood fettucini. The food arrived to our table a short time after ordering and was really nice. Now it wouldn't be lunch without a nice cold beer, Bentspoke Barley Griffin to be exact. A great place for lunch/ dinner, club was nice and clean with friendly staff.

Ok food. Lachlan was a legend when we got ice cream. He got a very good amount of ice cream and was very chatty and nice!! I would have given this place a 2 probably, but Lachlan shifted my mood!! Give Lachlan a raise pls

Nice layout and lounge. Very heavy on the pokies but you can steer right to the cafe/ restaurant lounge area. Good food, better end of club grub. Prices do approach restaurant prices, but the specials are a smidge more affordable. There is a 7 day happy hour which has food accompanying the drinks at lower prices. Seniors and children's menus are actually good and I would recommend. Cafe is very so so both coffee and cakes. Whatever you choose there is a sunny outside area to enjoy it in.

Meal did not arrive although orders earlier than others at the same table. When questioned staff did not follow up or check. Had to enquire again and eventually had to carry my own meal to table. Not really good enough?

Main meal price for an entree size. Had the cauliflower salad with $10 sweet potato fries. Both quite tasty, despite the 40 minute wait. Portions were very, very disappointing. Won't be rushing back here to eat. The only generous sizing in the meals for our table of 20 people was the pizza. It looked like a good choice.

Lovely place to visit & relax. Very good meals & selection, pricing also good. Staff is extremely friendly & courteous. Very good of road parking. If you become a member, the cost of membership saves you heaps for meals & drinks Massive amount of slot machines, both old & modern. Fully recommend this venue to all, also close to the city no matter where you are staying.

Lovely dinner and staff were very attentive, due to a processing error our dinner was delayed but the restaurant explained and brought out extra garlic bread.worth a visit, lovely clean amenities.

I have been going to the club on a weekly basis and the food had been good but with the new menu it has been disappointing. I had the Thai noodle salad and the noodles were raw, with very little flavour . The next time I had beef and mushroom noodles and counted 3 small pieces if beef. Paying over $20 each I was very disappointed. We are going to another club for our weekly lunches

Hadn't been here for 20 years, and was surprised to find the place now full of pokies. It seems their primary business is to fleece the poor pensioners who seem to be the main clientele there. Overpriced club food. Warm beer. Great and helpful staff on the plus side. On the whole I was unimpressed and regretted going there.

Good value. steak night only $15. We had a fish and chips special only $12. The Chicken Parmigiano is always good

Food is good, restaurant service is questionable. Entire restaurant tables had a reserved sign on it on a Wednesday evening. Why take walk-ins if you can't accommodate them? Reserved signs don't even say what time the reservation is for. Crazy behavior.

Fantastic venue for all sorts of activities. A beautifully laid out venue with great food on a versatile menu, prompt and friendly service, nice coffee and great drinks selection. The function rooms are awesome with the latest in a/v technology and flexible partitioning, all in a cost-effective setting.

Don't like the coleslaw served with the meals, Has too much dressing, heavy garlic flavour and is served warm, which causes stomach upset. You guys need to bring back the fresh garden salad.

Dinner was really nice. Good selection of drinks. Piano player was excellent. Will come back to hear him play.

Dined here at 'Limestone' on Saturday 26/5, with my wife, here's a summary and tips for others. - take a jacket and perhaps gloves and beanie, as the restaurant was freezing, especially if you're anywhere near the sliding door to outside that opens every 90 secs - the counters for food orders are segmented and on the opposite side of the dining area (the left) which is hidden as you walk. It is hidden and as you walk in not easy to see. There is no obvious signage as to where the restaurants are. It took about 50 mins from ordering to get our food, a chicken parmigiana and fish and chips. Given we had a 6pm booking, and attending a 7pm show, we did not have enough time to finish our meal after ordering which was annoying. I politely queried where are meals where after half an hour and was told ' another ten minutes' another 15mins no meal and I went over and asked again and was told 45mins was standard wait time and people were told this, which I wasn't. The food just ok but portion size was definitely on the small side, particularly with the fish. The 'tables' are tiny as I saw a family of three crammed onto a little round table. There was there strange chairs with metal backs that looked. I hadn't eaten here for ten years and the ambience resembles its name Limestone and is neither very warm nor friendly. it's actually dark and grey and is seperated by strange wooden walls that are neither private nor healthy and we were treated to a sick kid coughing through it next to our table while eating. - Bar service was pretty slow, often one person serving a long line of customers. It seemed generally the food and beverage division were unprepared with handling a busy saturday night or understaffed. - QR Code ordering signs only appear to apply to ordering of drinks, thought this was a bit strange. There are other clubs in Canberra with warmer more comfortable facilities where service is much more efficient.

Consistently terrible food. Been getting dragged along to family events for years and every time I ask why do we keep going back to get screwed over. Exhibit one the medium well done steak, burnt outside rare inside. 6 steaks ordered medium well done all came out different. 400g steak was half the size of the 300g steak. Literally every meal one or more of the party gets the same treatment. AFC was good years ago but those days are gone.

Came here for a Warhammer event. The venue is very nice and clean, the space we were allocated was large and I had a great time. Everyone was friendly, the only thing that bothered me was the one pushy staff member, I understand there's alcohol and pokies here and you deal with your fair share of morons but I feel we were passive aggressively told what to do as soon as we walked in the door without a hello. A hello and a smile goes a long way.

As a long time member I have dined here many times, with mixed experiences. Our most recent visit was bitterly disappointing. The roast was a ridiculously small serving and dry and the linguine was swimming in a very average sauce. Might be some time till we venture there again.

A family of four went for dinner. my kids had Pizzas, they were pretty good. My wife and I had Korean fried chicken with rice, that was not Korean fried chicken, no flavour, no chilli as indicated on the menu, no sauce just fried chicken and rice with no flavour. It should be remove from the menu, it ruined my dinner experience.
