Went to watch state of origin and they stopped food at around 8-830 which I thought was ridiculous

Very much a working man’s pub. Good though and not shady or anything. Just good old salt of the earth types. TAB and pokies.

Valentine's menu was better than I expected. Big portion, decent taste will be perfect if the steak is not slightly over cooked.

The food here was incredible and the drinks were brought out quickly, great spot for a cheeky dinner out when we don't want to cook 🙂 friendly staff too

**The Dry Mug Pub: A Disappointing Experience** If you're looking for a lively atmosphere and a wide selection of beverages, you won't find it at The Dry Mug Pub. With its lackluster ambiance and limited drink options, this establishment falls short in delivering an enjoyable pub experience. **Ambiance:** Walking into The Dry Mug, you're greeted by a dull and uninspiring atmosphere. The decor is outdated, the lighting is dim, and the overall vibe feels more like a deserted library than a bustling pub. **Beverage Selection:** Don't expect to find your favorite alcoholic drinks here, because they simply don't exist. The non-alcoholic options are uninspired and lacking in variety, leaving much to be desired for those looking for an exciting beverage experience. **Food Menu:** The food menu doesn't fare much better, offering a mediocre selection of standard pub fare. From bland burgers to soggy fries, the culinary offerings at The Dry Mug leave much to be desired. **Service:** Unfortunately, the service at The Dry Mug is just as lackluster as the rest of the experience. Waitstaff are inattentive and seem disinterested in providing a positive customer experience. **Overall Experience:** In conclusion, The Dry Mug Pub fails to deliver on every front. With its lackluster ambiance, uninspired beverage selection, mediocre food offerings, and subpar service, there are far better options available for those seeking a memorable pub experience. --- This review emphasizes the negative aspects of the pub, highlighting its shortcomings and disappointing features.

The A.A. has a warm, homely and welcoming ambience, with carpets, exposed brick columns, low mood lamps, wooden furniture and timber features. It’s a large and well ventilated space with multiple dining and entertaining areas. We sat in the main dining area, in a booth type arrangement with comfy upholstered leather bench seating. Being a Sun night, there was only a smattering of other diners, enough to give it a bit of atmosphere but with a chilled, relaxed, and laid back vibe. Acoustics were perfect. Both the food and drink ordering can be done at the bar in the usual way, but I prefer the app ordering. It streamlines the process and allows you to better manage your budget for the night. Payment is done automatically, once your order is complete and submitted, so there’s no hanging around after the meal, waiting for the bill, then going elsewhere to make payment. It’s all very simple and easy and in my experience it also means that service is more efficient and meals always come out quickly. You can link your Monty’s Rewards club membership to the ordering app, so that you’ll never miss out on the 5% discount on drinks and meals. First up, the drinks: A schooner of my fav Byron Bay ale and an Espresso Martini for my wife, beautifully prepared by the bartender and brought out to the table. When it came to the food, being just my wife and I, we shared three dishes: the Turkish bread with dips, the beef rissoles with peas and mash, and the salt and pepper calamari. The Turkish bread was hot and crunchy and came with three smooth and creamy dips: baba ghanoush, hummus and pesto. The perfect way to start the meal. The other dishes didn’t disappoint either. The beef rissoles were tender and tasty, and well complemented with the fresh peas and mash potato. The calamari was succulent and tender in a crispy batter served with beetroot salad, lemon and small bowl of aioli sauce. We both enjoyed our meals. The Alderley Arms is a part of the A.L.H. Group chain of hotels and pubs around the country. We’ve dined at many of them and never been disappointed with the experience. What I especially appreciate about A.L.H. hotels are the modest prices. Just check out their online menu and you’ll see what I mean. There are further savings if you’re a Monty’s Rewards Club member, and long-suffering seniors get special deals too, with discounted meals and a $5 dessert. Just as an example, we paid a very reasonable 45 pesos for three meals: the Turk bread with dips, the calamari and the rissoles. And it’s not as if they’re skimping on either quality or quantity. Serving sizes are generous and the food is carefully prepared with love, care and attention to detail, and presented to the table on stylish white crockery. Drink prices are moderate too, and there are always specials. On the night that we dined, schooners of Byron Bay ale were on sale for only 8 pesos, A handcrafted espresso martini was 15, and of course, 5% of that too. This is a huge boon to us seniors, to be able to still enjoy a night out without ending up in the debtors prison. Thanks to the A’L.H. Group for making dining out affordable, especially as we endure “Weimar Republic” levels of hyperinflation. Toilets are clean, well provisioned and easy to find, just behind the gaming room, and congrats to this venue for providing a disposal unit for hygiene prods in the MEN’S toilet, something all venues should do. Parking is a breeze in the huge car park right outside the front door, and there’s also a handy and well stocked BWS liquor store on the same premises, so that you can stock up the liquor cab on your way out. We had a really pleasant, relaxing and fun night out at the A.A. Hotel. Ordering is easy using the app and the food was outstanding and served in generous portions. Service was fast, efficient and friendly and prices were modest, representing excellent value for money. The ambience is casual and relaxed, with ample free parking and clean toilets. Everything you could want for a perfect night out with family or friends.

On a recent visit I was poured a drink by a new staff member who then squeezed by hand the limes needed into my glass (yuk). My next drink was then (of course) at the other bar by the duty manager who proceeded to do the same thing (yuk again). Surely that is not a standard practice, considering the handling of cash. I then needed to look for Andy who I know always pours my drinks hygienically for the rest of the evening.

Nice pub with friendly staff and a good atmosphere. We were there on Tuesday night and joined in the free Quizzame quiz night which was very entertaining and good fun. Food looks nice with daily specials and a huge car park out the back with plenty of parking. You can play on the pokies there till 4am, if that is your thing. Enjoyed $5 schooners of Great Northern 4.2% all night and will come back again.

Love that they have a seniors menu. Great food without over eating. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Only thing that would improve the pub would be an outdoor dog friendly space that's smoke free.

Lovely place, portion sizes on their food are fantastic. Good selection of meals. They should totally bring back Hollendaise and Diane sauce though.

Kicked us out because my brother moved his car down the road. Complained saying we were being a hoon but obviously doesn't understand how a 30 year old non turbo diesel works and they don't know how it has to be driven

How this place has 4.2 stars is beyond me. An incredibly average pub with terrible food. Inedible pie, oily schnitzel, obscene patrons, don’t waste your time.

Had an unexceptable and honestly baffling experience at the pub tonight. 9pm on a Saturday and we were a bit drunk, from the get go we were served with a generally dismissive attitude, participating in the karaoke we were told to 'stop wooing', eventually a member of our group was kicked out abruptly and without warning, other patrons treated us with general hostility and I certainly did not feel comfortable. I and all other members of my party will not be returning. We'll hit the RSL next time I think.

Enjoyed my first visit and subsequent visits, 3 in all so far in 2023. Great service and they have my favorite on tap, "Guinness". Food is great and plenty of it at a very reasonable price.

Another great meal shared with my soul mate of some 57 years. The seniors meal of roast turkey was fabulous. As was the dessert. Made an even more enjoyable evening by the polite and ultra helpful staff, Annabelle in particular. As I’ve said often in the past “We’ll be back”. Thanks, this old couple had a great evening
