We had the best seat in the house, at the bar. Watching the bar tenders making cocktails is always a delight, tasting them is even better
Two years later, it's still a great bar. Highly knowledgeable and friendly bar staff makes this a great place to have a cocktail or two.

We had a great time Saturday night after wandering in here walking between darling harbour and our hotel. Great service, great bar tending and standard priced drinks for the city. Casual affair, good music upstairs. There are pokies downstairs but you wouldn’t even know!

Sauntered in one fine evening 9 years ago in 2015, loved the wee tiles on the bar. Been coming back ever since to ogle at the tiles.
Highly recommended if you're into tiles, banter, great service and general bonhomie in that order.

Relaxed atmosphere that hasn't changed in decades, but it shows. A bit tired and paint peeling from the ceiling is not a good look.
Staff were friendly but not especially helpful.
Poor selection of beers on tap. VB and Guiness were the staples but the others were all very similar to each other. Just different brands.
It's probably been more than 20 years since my last visit an I found no reason to revisit again in the next 20 years.
Nothing really bad here, just very underwhelming.

Ordered the pumpkin risotto and it was essentially a puddle of mash about 3 cm thick at the bottom of the plate for $28. Would not recommend this place at all for food as it's a rip off.

Nice old pub, has 3 levels with plenty of room for quiet meetings or lunch. Limited menu with good food. Had the Guinness pie, it was lovely. Unique decor, bar staff are very friendly and efficient. Worth a drop in if you are in the area.

I’ve come here for a lunch break with friends and it’s a good place for a casual catch up. I did recently come here on a Saturday night. It had the right vibe for a drink but I wouldn’t recommend the cocktails here. I ordered two negronis ($22 each). These were bought by the hotel pre-mixed and tasted awful. Was unhappy with the price for a cocktail that isn’t even made on the spot by the barman. Very expensive - you pay for the location. I recommend other bars in the area if wanting to try cocktails. All that said, the barman was lovely enough and security were nice too.

I spent quite a bit of money in the poker machines tonight one of the staff ask me to leave if I'm not playing they asked me to leave the premises refuse to get me a drink water the rudeness and roughness of this woman was grossly overbearing attacked me I've never been mistreated so poorly in my life all I was doing was working out how much money I had left to gamble.
It said to know that this waitress heard the conversation that I was homeless and living on the street.
Just because some of the people that live on the street are homeless doesn't mean they don't work or still go to a job.
It was only a few years ago that covid wiped out the pub industry and the gaming The gambling last their jobs it seems that everyone has forgotten how easy it is to go from a comfortable house to the. streets.
From when I walked in two angels how to set on me from day one it said that a great venue like angel hotel was brought down by the Staffordshire attitude.
I do know that the venues have a right to ask people to leave if they're sitting at a pokie machine s.
But there was a whole heap of work collection now half of works want gambling and half at the weren't we're not drinking .

I love this place. Personality, nostalgia, great staff, there's always somewhere to sit! It's the kind of place that you can rely on for a nice drink after a show at the Theatre Royal or Recital Hall.

If you're new in town or travellers, don't overlook this hotel. It's got great character and is worth a visit just to experience all the levels. We've been here for functions and as just a pop in for a quick bite and drink. Love it!!

If you love cigarettes this is the place for you.. sat outside and literally the bouncer, his mate and two random chick's they were clearly trying to pick up stood next to the no smoking sign and all smoked. While other members of the public walked past sat down and decides to smoke up also. This place was foul. I bought 1 drink and it will never get any more of my money. If you love lung cancer, premature ageing, upper lip wrinkles and tounge cancer pleas3 come here it's basically their primary business.

Good place to have after work drinks, level 1 couches are relaxing for cold beer, vibe is good, staff is very welcoming, only thing is there is no smoking area which is understandable because Martin place is non smoking area, over all amazing place recommend someone looking for after hour drink

Even one star is generous. Saturday night stopped off there after the Pixies and it was mostly empty so we thought it looked a nice quiet place for a drink. Ordered "two white wines please" and was asked to repeat myself; and when I did he asked me how many drinks I had had that night. A said "a couple" and he again asked how many exactly. I knew I was displaying no signs of intoxication so I said that the security team had no problem letting us in, to which he marched around to them to interrogate them about my entry. At that point, we gave up and walked to the next pub who had no problem serving us. I wonder if the owner knows the poor attitude of bar staff are costing them income?

Called into this pub for a drink with friends. We sat upstairs and the atmosphere was great. We were served by Sarah each time we went to the bar. She made the best Aperol spritz's and even stopped and had a chat to us. Will definitely go back.

A friend booked out lv1 for a surprise birthday. Was pretty good, had a bathroom and bar to ourselves. Food was pretty good too. They even allowed us to bring our own nintendo switch to have our own mario kart tournament, they obviously had provided a tv to do so. They allowed us to play our own music via aux cord. All staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for functions.
