Whilst pub crawling on a Sunday, the Steed was one of the busier pubs with a great, buzzing atmosphere. We enjoyed a couple of beers and a half dozen Kilpatrick oysters which were delicious. Friendly service and great afternoon

Very nice pub to enjoy a delicious Guinness. They have some vegan and vegetarian options. We tried the vegan pumpkin and spinach risotto and it was delicious. Friendly staff and good service. Update:we came back after 6 months and there are new options in their menu, we tried the vegan burger, highly recommended!

This hotel has given very good food & service over many , many years .
All 3 of us enjoyed our meal & we all commented we would return .
Service is fantastic & staff super friendly.
Just remember you will order your food & wine etc at the bar .
Not a problem to us .

The staff are friendly and attentive.
The prices are really good.
The food is amazing and so delicious. Steak melted in your mouth, S&P Squid was expertly cooked.
Dessert was beautifully presented and very tasty.
Thoroughly recommend this hotel for Price, Quality meals, cleanliness and experience

The long term staff and owners are second to none. Known as the only country pub in the city, with its classic pub food ( think roast, pies, top tier chicken schnitzel, bangers or lambs fry) and fantastic drinks list covering both your standard bevys and better than average wines.. the Steed will forever be the perfect pub to remind you what pubs are there for.
There's a reason it's been a city staple for so many years.

Outstanding service, a nice setting, and yummy food. They've changed the menu again with some nice additions although I miss the old chicken salad they used to make. Schnitty is great also btw.

Nice pub, good food,but very noisy at busy meal times. Have eaten here several times with great food, but the noise level detracts from a possible good experience. This was commented on each visit by my friends, so proving this is not just my personal judgement.
This would not be a 'kid friendly environment' in any way.
I find this situation poor as it is not difficult to solve. Just proves this pubs business focus is on the profit level and not the customer service and experience they're providing!
This can be experienced in some other pubs - but not all!
This needs to be called out to be the large problem that it is, and it is time to address this! There are measures available to solve this, is not difficult for the pub to implement!!

Their reply proves they have profit placed above providing improvement in customer experience! It is very well known and understood how to mitigate excessive noise in crowded environments. With them saying that this 'is expected' in a pub is a total copout, and is proving that their customers experience is well down on the list of their importance! Have the management become complacent in the time they have been involved in their business - quit possibly? Just because this is how it was in past times does not make this normal and best practice! There is always room for improvement!

Nice atmosphere- had the roast of the day which was thoroughly enjoyable. Nice friendly staff. Enjoyed playing the pokies too.

Like to Thank the Chef for going out of his way in preparing my Seafood Luncheon Monday. Initially we went to have the famous pies but when heard salt intake Shane assisted by bringing Chef to counter and discussed menu.
Great to return back again. Staff very efficient and polite.

Have driven past this ‘local’ pub many times & was keen to try it out.. We were pleasantly surprised! Have had some terrible pub meals in the past but this one was excellent! Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and a nice outdoor area for warm nights. Not one of these pretentious overpriced pubs.. Will now definitely be our local! Highly recommend the salt & pepper squid! Keep up the good work! ⭐️

Great pub , the food I ordered was great and would recommend to anyone wanting a nice lunch and a couple of quiet beers with the TAB right there too.

Great hospitality!! Owner was very friendly to us kiwis! He put the wahs game on for us, during the game we were losing, he came over, gave us a meat pack for free, to make us feel better!! He also had to turn our game off because their local AFL team THE CROWS!! were about to start, but gave us his tablet to watch the last few minutes of our wahs game! TOP MAN!! Also had good laughs with the locals!! Recommend going there!! 😊

Fixed an accidental spillage without fuss, and provided a replacement meal as some wine spilled on the food. Outstanding service!!

Enjoyed the Beef and Guinness pie with a pint of the same to celebrate St Patrick's Day. The food was enjoyable but the best part was the friendly service, not always easy to come across these days but the team member there made me feel very welcome.

Casual lunch at the Arab Steed did not disappoint. In the south of the city with all the pub classics. Got a chicken parmy with chips and salad.
It was a generous serving, and the schnitzel wasn’t too dry. Chips are crunchy on the outside, soft in the middle.
Service was efficient and considering it was peak lunch time on a Friday I was impressed! No complaints from me and would return

Arab Steed was my local whilst I lived in Adelaide. Whenever i’d go the staff were always amazing, food was great and affordable beer. Definitely recommend!

A fabulous pub serving top quality food. I had seafood rissotto which was superbly presented .Plus the staff are friendly and helpful . Street entertainment on Saturday night was a delight when a Fire Dancer performed .
