What a so quaint 60s style motel! Very clean rooms although the shower curtain rod has seen better days. The bed was very comfortable, nice linen sheets add to the comfort. Complimentary bottled water is a very nice touch too. Check in is at the bar, manned by a very friendly and helpful staff. My stay couldn't have been more pleasant. Location is also great, close to the highway and shops. If you don't want to explore the motel's restaurant there's an interesting pizza shop next door you can do takeaway from.

What a difference this place is since a great renovation. Looks great. But first pub ever been to when ordering off the Table QR code that had to go and collect my order. Chicken parmigiana was great but was put on mixed green salad which made it soggy. Service was great . Room old but comfortable. A/C needs upgraded tho.

We stayed at the Astor Hotel Albury on Thursday 9/5 24, we arrived just after 8:30pm. The Bar and Bistro staff were friendly and helpful and we all enjoyed our meals. However that was where the pleasant experience ended. When we went to our Motel room we found that it was very basic with only 4 cups, no saucers or plates, no teaspoons, no coat hangers, no mirror in the bathroom, the shower head was broken and then to make matters worse after our 2 kids had taken their showers there was no hot or cold water. We could not even clean our teeth as there was no cold water. As far as we were concerned it was like we were staying at a shack in the bush. The experience for us was one that we will not forget. If you are thinking of staying at this hotel don't, there would be a lot of other Motels that you could stay at where the price would be similar to what we paid, and you would not have a terrible experience like we had. I phoned Astor Hotel twice today to talk to their Management and the phone just rang out, so their customer service is as bad as their Motel service is.

This was possibly the noisiest, smallest, run down place I've paid for. The traffic was unbearable, especially the up hill road. We heard the pub noise until close and the roof top compressors and extraction. The room was very small, knocked around, paint peeling, no bathroom basin, shower curtain (water all over floor), light globes broken, basic spring bed, the list goes on. In the morning door on upper floor locked and we had to drag our bags through the garden to get back to car. No idea who to return key to. A coat of exterior paint does not improve interior. The people and staff were more than lovely.

This hotel/motel was exactly what I wanted - the rooms are comfortable and furnished simply, so they are set up for accommodation not for entertaining clients or impressing people. The pub next door is for that - and it's set up pleasantly, not grandly. I'm sure that's why the pub bars are so popular. Don't expect fine dining or grandiose decor, but the place is one I'll be very happy to stay at again.

The web site is incorrect and doesn’t offer vegan food and they weren’t prepared to fix anything for our vegan. My meal consisted of a bit of meat with a bit of carrot puree and it was stone cold- not even warm. All ur meals were cold. No table service what so ever. Didn’t even remove dirty plates from our table so this who wanted sweets has somewhere to put their plate. Overall very basic with no service at all.

The food at the pub part is really good and there’s a good vibe. The motel rooms are very basic and don’t quite match the cool exterior but do the job for an affordable stopover.

Stayed at the Astor last night and I would just like to say the renovations of the pub are fantastic. I also had dinner there and I have to say the chef who cooked my rump steak is a master, I ordered medium rare and that is what I got . A rump steak cooked to perfection, you are a champion my friend.

Rooms are basic but clean. It’s all about convenience though. It’s close to everything. I stayed for work and it’s just so easy to walk across the bridge to the pub and have a fantastic meal, and be greeted by friendly staff. I’ve stayed 4 times and I’d stay again.

Perfect for a short stay when traveling between QLD and Victoria. We have stayed here a few times now. The food’s good. The vibe is friendly and the service is excellent. Rooms are clean and shower has good pressure. What more could you want.

Once they refurb the rooms this hotel will be much better for accommodation. The reno on the pub is absolutely charming and pays tribute to the rich heritage of the building. The neon signage and pastels around the accommodation are really beautiful and kitsch. But the rooms smell like bleach, are pretty sparse and the bathrooms are full of mould. Fine for a quick stop on the side of the highway. Food is OKAY. It's almost there for pub food. Not quite, but nearly. We had the loaded fries & Thai salad. Thai salad was a bit boring but fresh and tasty - just uncreative and inauthentic. Loaded fries were bland to the point of being almost inedible, needed some Mexican spices and jalapenos to lift the dish. Service throughout our stay was both charming and to the point. There were a few rusted on locals at the public bar gathered around the racing screens. They were the welcoming sort, not standoffish & probably good for a late night yarn if you're flying solo. There were some questionable characters staying in the rooms out the back, I guess probably due to the poor quality of the rooms. But maybe that's the charm of the place. Rooms definitely felt like an afterthought but the Pub seems well managed so they'll likely see some love in the not too distant future. Look forward to my next stop through on the run from Syd to Melbs. There is however ample parking and it's not far from the highway (but not too loud). Albury is definitely having a growth spurt. There seems to be more cute cafes and interesting new businesses every time I stop through.

Nice comfy room, only problem was no small bin in bathroom for ladies products. Staff were very friendly and the meals were absolutely delicious, a little bit pricey (but that’s today’s world) The parking left a lot to be desired - double story building but not enough parking to park your car in front of your room. We were at one end of the hotel and our car was right up the other end

Met up with a group of golfing buddies for a birthday lunch. My meal was delicious. Lamb with mash and an apple salad. The others were not impressed with theirs, unfortunately. Service was great as usual. Oh, and I was impressed by the coffee.

Looks magnificent on the outside, so well done nicely maintaining the original facade. Rooms are tiny and quite rudimentary on the inside, and could do with a sympathetic low-level upgrade. But fairly priced all things considered.

Location is pretty good, close to highway and groceries shops, pub has yummy food and friendly staff. We ordered steak sandwich, fish taco and cheeseburger for kids, all delicious. Motel is a bit old, but pretty clean. Okay for a place to have a roof on top of your head to sleep.

I had the opportunity to stay a night at the Astor and it was really impressive. The rooms are clean, comfortable and not needing anything else for the nights stay. The customer service, food and beverage is exceptional. Definitely worth a stay to experience the atmosphere and fantastic staff.

Dropped into Albury for a meal whilst travelling. The neon lights sucked us in, and we ordered three mains and a beer or two. The staff were friendly, the food delicious. Would eat here again when next in town

Did not know what to expect from this Hotel/Motel however it exceeded our expectations. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable however price wise very well worth it. The hotel is very clean and nice, great place to have dinner and kid friendly as well. The Decor is something to see and experience. It’s like being in Vegas back in the 60’s. The Neon Signs and colour scheme is very well done. Highly recommend to stop over for a couple of days and experience it.

Delicious meals at the beautifully designed bistro, particularly the outdoor area with mist fans, perfect for a drink in hot weather There's a huge difference between there and the rooms which are pretty low grade, however you get what you pay for. Really noisy place to stay on weekends with heaps of drunks yelling outside your room. It's 2023, time to get rid of the shower curtains guys. All staff have been incredibly polite. I find that the only service housekeeping seems to offer is making your bed, I've stayed here a few time and found milks aren't topped up and dishes aren't washed.

Came here for a couple drinks with my mate and kids and it was lovely, drinks are a bit expensive but the atmosphere and area was beautiful! Especially the nice wood fire with a table around it! Food looked delicious and reasonably priced so we’ll definitely be coming back.

Big dollar fit out and lots of staff does not equal good service. Twice the amount of staff than the average pub but the guest has to do all the work. You order on a QR code, collect your drinks from the bar and collect your food from the counter. They don't bring anything over, not even cutlery. When I asked where can I get some cutlery, the brunette behind the bar rolled her eyes and said 'it's literally behind the door'. Maybe spend a little more money on training your staff how to be polite. Food was average and a long wait for it considering they were almost empty. Burger didn't taste like much, lamb ribs were tough, gnocchi was chewy like a cheap supermarket one. Mac and cheese croquettes were ok. Overall, it wasn't a good experience.

$9 for pint of my 1st beer as I paid it on card,$6 on the same pint of beer by cash as I ordered the second round. I was charged by different bartenders. Why was it?$3 variation between 2 types of payment?
