We have been coming here for years but since the renovations the food hasn’t been as good as before. Still a great pub we’ve just been disappointed the last few times we have been

We came on rib night...SO good, both in terms of the food and value for money! Meat literally fell off the bone, sauce was delish, great chips and nice side salad.

They are doing good things at the Aussie.
While it has always been far and away my favourite Cessnock pup the management and owners are making big improvements to the hotel. The menu is transformed and there is a new playground and courtyard for families. All the while the bar retains it's laid back pub feel. Big fan of this local pub.

The staff and food are very good and 1/2 price ribs on a Monday are a family favourite but bookings are essential as is very popular

The food was well presented and prepared. Came to the table and was hot. Great tasting food and drinks are available.

Ordered the pan fried snapper for $32 and got a beautifully cooked and presented piece of fish with 2 sprigs of broccolini and about 6 potato tots. Totally inadequate as a meal - like something you would get at a French restaurant. Had to order garlic bread to have enough to eat. I forgot the 'more you pay the less you get rule.

Netty. Was. Here. Beautifully renovated inside this pub is definitely a nice place to stop in for a visit. I had the Snitty Lunch Special. $3 extra for gravy.

My absolute local of choice!! Driving past many closer venues. The atmosphere is always cheerful & staff very friendly & helpful! The food is seriously the best I've found when talking pub grub...it's like bistro prices & restaurant quality meals combined!! 💜 I have never EVER been disappointed & given I'm quite fussy, that's a rarity. Even the best have at least failed me on one or two occasions but not these guys!!
So in short whether it be a few drinks & some socialisation or a meal with friends/family! You won't be disappointed! 🍻

Meal was good with a great selection to choose from, the new beer garden and play equipment was a hit with the kids most of the staff were great however there was one female (short, blonde with a butterfly on the back of her arm) that was quite rude to all members in attendance.

Lunchtime specials, generous serves. Ordered chicken wrap and pork burger, but next time will order fish fillet meal which looked good and was very popular with the raffle regulars. Fast friendly service, good range of tap beers

I've been going here for lunch for sometime now. All the staff in the Bistro are first class. They are fantastic people and I'm going to single out Amy as my favourite BUT they are all fantastic. Food is great and a reasonable price for the amount of food you get for your $$$$. Weekends are pretty busy so I recommend to ring and book a table.

It was amazing. I worked there pretty covid an the kitchen has had some huge changes an looks amazing. The food was beautiful. The staff are great well done cookie an team

I have never tasted more terrible food in my life, 0 rating on the food. Staff were nice but not one person finished there meal we all took a bite and left. It was honestly horrible from the meal to the gravy, never would any of us go back.

I have it 5 stars compared to other pubs, not compared to a fine restaurant. It's excellent pub food, good selection of drinks, nice outdoor eating area and good pub ambience. Staff are terrific, helpful. Recommended.

Has a really nice meal here, all the food was good and the drinks were very good value. Food prices were good and the staff were very friendly

Had an amazing dinner. (Pork belly an sweet potato). All staff where very friendly and constantly checking on us. Would recommend.
Again the food was great.

Had a great night at Monday Trivia Night. Made to feel very welcome, friendly staff and a good atmosphere. Really good prices for drinks too. Great pub!

For about the last year it has slowly being going down hill then on my Visit in January the steak was inedible so bad I couldn’t get my knife through it had to be replaced and partners was not much better .
Tonight the meals were again a let down Kangaroo was tuff as old boots and ribs in there bbq sauce where was the sauce it had no more than a tea spoon of sauce placed on top of ribs disappointing used to get a good feed there

Food is always delicious. Hot, fresh and really good serving size. You either leave with a takeaway box at night or full very full. Excellent lunch menu too.

Chicken schnitty was very tasty and filling. A tad dry but served with pepper gravy, it was great. Chips were nice. $24 for a big schnitty, chips and salad.. good value

Atmosphere here is great. Modern clean facility, airie natural sunlight in pokies room has to seen to be believed.
Meals were great and not to expensive.
Beer tasted great, and we even got free raffle tickets for meat draws.
Good spot for a couple coldies and a meal.
