We went on a 36’ day and the air conditioning couldn’t keep up. The staff were kind enough to move us to a table away from the front windows but didn’t move any of the table settings. They also turned on the roof sprinklers to cool the building, but there were no fans or air flow in our area, and we were all sweaty and uncomfortable. The manager informed us that the AC was new and there was nothing else he could do.
The food was reasonably priced and were large portions, but it took 35 minutes to come out when the dining room was at about 25% capacity, and was a bit salty.
The staff were friendly but I don’t think we will return.

Went here to celebrate my father’s birthday and we were told at the last minute that we had to leave the dining room at 8.30 and the girl who told us was very rude. The bar staff would also benefit from learning some customer service skills and how to deliver food and announce what food they have brought out. The guy that brought out the food was barely whispering to a table of 20 and no one could hear him. When my partner order a drink he was greeted with “what do you want” from the charming guy behind the bar. Food was sub par and the steaks that the table ordered were all overcooked and the small shot glass of gravy was barely enough to hide how dry the steak was. On a plus side, the venue was very very clean to its credit but this does not excuse the shocking behaviour and attitude of the staff. Unfortunately cleanliness is not enough to persuade us to go back.

Went for drinks, and we shared a few starters...Sweet Potato Chips, Chicken Wings and Pork Belly Bites all very nice with appropriate sauces/sides to compliment each dish.

We have been to this suburban pub several times in recent weeks.
Service has always been exceptional as has the standard of the meals. On one occasion we ordered the Mexican topped chicken Schintzel and the chicken and avocado pizza.
Atmosphere is great. Well worth a visit.

We had ordered at 7 and received our food at 8:20…, the poor wait staff were constantly apologising and doing a great job however it was clear that not enough preparation had been made in the kitchen for a busy night, the main excuse was that there was a function on, but you would think an establishment would prepare better for this, I spent over $70 there with drinks included and wasn’t offered any compensation for the wait, and my Rump steak was pretty average (i ordered it rare and it was blue, if that). Very disappointed

We celebrated a christening here, in the court yard bistro. The food was prepared and served well.

Visited for dinner in the restaurant on the night of Matilda’s quarter final against France. Wide choice of meals, easy to order. Waitress taking orders was doing multiple things at once and handling it all very calmly. All meals were delicious- salmon and barramundi were moist and flavoursome with excellent crispy skin. Mashed potato and broccolini delicious! Chicken schnitzel very generous and crumb was very crispy whilst meat very moist. Oreo waffle was described as ‘really good’ and decaf cappuccino full bodied. Excellent selection of wines. Te renovations have given the Avoca an inviting facelift and all staff were friendly and helpful. It was also exciting to watch the Matilda’s on the big screens even though we hadn’t planned that! Definitely return.

There were 16 of us to feed and the Avoca Hotel did a great job. Not one person complained about their meal and we ate a variety of food. All the meals were served in blue bowls which was different. The meals were generous in size and were tasty The staff were very helpful and efficient in their service. We will come again.

So grateful that this is my local! Food is great and the all staff are amazing. The beer garden is dog friendly which is great - now we can go out for dinner as a family

Ordered at 6:30pm and was served at 7:45pm. Kids meal came out after 7. There were only 3 other tables before us, one already had meals and one table of about 8 was served meals (spread out so they didn’t eat together) before us even though we ordered before them. Schnitzel did taste ok but they did not get the order right. They mixed up which schnitzel order had sweet potato chips instead of regular ones (extra cost). The waitress dumped the plate with the wrong schnitzel on sweet potato chips with a disingenuous apology, a slight explanation of the mix up and walked off to leave us to deal with fixing it. Also was missing an aioli sauce for one schnitzel (extra cost) and we felt like walking on egg shells to find and point this out to the waitress. I ordered the Monday special steak and wine - medium. Came out rare/ blue and had a generous amount of gristle. Too hungry and bothered to wait so i ate half and shared meals with someone who likes steak cooked that way. No explanation offered or complimentary drink or such. Very poor hospitality. Second bad experience in as many visits, first review…. you've lost local customers.

My wife seemed to be happy with her meal, considering what I paid for my rump steak it was very chewy, I expected better quality.

My family & I went to the Avoca for lunch & was very disappointed with our meals. My husband & I had the lasagne & it came out cold. As well as you would of thought I had ordered bolognese sauce served over chips. I was searching for the pasta, for $30 we expected much better. My eldest son ordered a porterhouse steak & was full of fat. Nice place to have a few drinks but definitely wont be eating here again

Just waited 57 minutes for an entree!!! And the chips were cold. They need a better system to notify people of wait times when they have big groups in! It's not an excuse to keep regulars waiting!!!

High hopes with the new menu “Queensland steak” it was terrible, full of gristle, terribly cooked, whoever cooked it cannot cook a steak, not seared well they looked terrible and tasted accordingly. Both mine and my partners were terrible. And at over $40 each steak it was ridiculous. Service also poor from bar staff who were unfriendly & rude. Will not return.

Had the chicken special which was about 33 bucks. Couldn't eat it, the chicken had a weird texture and was soooo salty. Really amateur stuff, won't be back.

Had an amazing meal here the other night, arrived just before closing staff were super friendly and didn't make a fuss. Meals come out super quick. Can recommend highly enough!

Great value schnitzels, amazing toppings. Coffee and dessert were excellent

Great food specials. The food came out really quickly (there weren't a lot of people when we went, maybe 6 other groups). The staff were really nice and friendly. A few options for beer on tap, with a mix between craft and your standard mid strengths. I have been a few times and always a nice environment.

Gave Avoca a wide berth for 2 years. Saw they have changed hands so thought would give them another go. Ordered Lamb Shanks , it said there would be 2 lamb shanks . When I received the meal it arrived on a rather small plate with some type of shredded meat covered in brown slimy awful goo accompanied with a withered piece of broccoli and packet mash. Probably the worst meal I have ever been served. Very disappointing. Maybe the owners of the Star group can try this meal.

Food was impeccable, service was fast and friendly. Special shout out to Bailey. My steak was cooked perfectly and couldn't fault the experience. I do miss the old menu and the prices on since the change are a bit over the top. But aside from that the experience was perfect.

Food and service improved since the last time I was here (couple of years ago). Under Star Hotel group management since early 2023. Has made a big difference to the place. Enjoyed the meal - chargrilled lamb special was very good. Nice wine by the glass selection.

First visit, Mourning Day, the staff were delightful and food was great. Second visit last night, not so friendly staff and 4 of the 5 dishes were good but my steak, even medium rare, was tough. Not a great cut of meat. Nice pub though with lovely outdoor areas.

Drop in for dinner. We had a table of 4 all meals looked and tasted great. Not one complaint from anyone. The Crispy Chicken Burger is amazing 🤤.

Despicably low standards of hygiene and shoddy management make this grim suburban pokie barn not worth your time to visit.
The venue is extremely poorly decorated only using muted white and grey colourless schemes making it more like a nursing home than an inviting bistro. it's clear the owners have put zero effort into the atmosphere of the venue.
Expect your salads and ramekins to have gone back and forth from the kitchen at least three times before it reaches your plate.

Decided to eat in the bistro after renovations. This area was an elegant area to dine in but after renovations it’s completely changed. Seating area way too tight - I was practically sitting at the table behind me too squishy and a huge gap in front of counter area just looks weird with horrible carpet.
You really need to look at the seating plan as it’s just not practical in this area
Other than that staff were fantastic and food was great

Clean, bright and good food. The sound of the pokies aren't too loud. The dinning area is a reasonable size. The food was good. Prices are a bit high but in this economy not too bad. Overall a good experience for a night out.

Adrian and Liz served us today, we had an enjoyable lunch, garlic prawns ( Australian prawns) and Ribs , both meals perfect.
The staff are very friendly and attentive as the good old days.

44 of us celebrated a birthday in 'The Glasshouse'... Everyone was so impressed with the atmosphere, the food and the service. Michelle is an asset to your business - she was great to deal with through the planning and set-up stages and on the day she and her team were faultless... Well done and Thank you for making our celebration even more special!!
