Wow! What an amazing pub! Food was stunning; sauces were homemade, vegetables were varied and prepared by hand, portions were large and the prices were affordable. Staff were amazing at their jobs, drinks were cold and went down a treat. Packed to the rafters with locals and travellers alike - definitely a must stop place if in the area!

Wow. Called in on the spur of the moment for lunch. Outstanding meal at a great price. Large servings with plenty to choose from. Staff very friendly. Would definitely eat here again.

We stopped to have lunch on our way to Tuncurry, the service was great but the food was on a whole other level, it was AWESOME. If your driving through or live there do yourself a favour and stop to eat, you definitely won't regret it.

We ordered a little before 2pm. The barman kindly offered us a free drink at 3pm. It is now 3.20pm and no meals yet. It was busy. We weren't told it would be over an hour wait for meals. I don't know why they even took our order. Make your own assessment but I don't think even deserve 1 star. We're in a small town. No opportunity to go anywhere else at this point. Seriously... On a positive note, the kitchen staff were working hard and the meals when they arrived at 3.30pm were very good. We were a little on the hangry side by then. The front of house did no one any favours.

Went for a beer after work last week and accidentally stumbled upon steak night, wow $15 250g steak, 2 sides and a beer. Absolutely delicious. Went again tonight and I think it might have even been better. Already booked our table for next week!!!

We came for a family function that was pre booked for 5pm (months notice). They were aware of rough numbers and that children were coming. Friday night. Bistro remained unopen until usual time 6pm.
I've worked in a country pub before, so knew to order my food straight away at 5.58pm (about the 2nd to 4th person to order).
I didn't receive my garlic bread until 6.30 (no apology). My two kids meals came out with my pizza at 6.45pm (no apology). Our final group of people didn't get there meal until 8.30pm (ordered at 6.45pm). We had to hold off the birthday cake, because family were leaving and do it on Saturday night instead.
The kids meals and most others came out with some yuck smokey bbq sauce instead of tomato sauce.
My feedback- you know you have a large group of people, change the normal bistro hours by taking orders earlier, you don't have to start cooking. Or put on extra staff and start cooking 30mins earlier. Waiting 30mins for a main meal is common....longer should come with an apology and even a free drink if 1hr. Waiting 30mins for garlic bread is not okay, you should have a cook stationed on entrees only (and maybe salads).
The apathy from the staff was appauling, including the head lady. You'll take our money happily. A final note, the pizza was really yummy (lamb). The organisation, service and general running is not so delicious.
This is the second family function we've had here in 3 yrs. We won't be returning.

We call through for lunch and were excited to eat at the local pub. We didn't order till 1.45 and the staff informed us there was a wait ad they were busy. Beer and wine were great and staff kept checking in us. When the food came it was OK, issue was the chef in the kitchen was yelling at the young girls and using foul language in regards to ladies at the bar. Everyone waiting for food could here it, so made us feel like we were back in school, as my husband and I put our down so we didnt nor get into trouble. We ate as we were hungry.and left, not the most relaxing experience for a Sunday lunch.

We arrived mid afternoon on a trip back from Wingham to Sydney. Bistro staff were happy to provide lunch for us.
Food was absolutely fantastic and the beer nice and cold.
We’ll be going back. I urge others to get off the freeway and visit these country town and support the local businesses.

Very friendly. Pleasant atmosphere. (Went for lunch). Good dog friendly beer garden. Steak sandwich with chips a good sized meal. Lost the 5th star because only vegie meat substitute hamburger was available.

Very friendly and helpful bar lady... Bistro sadly was out of all red meat meals... No choice but fish or chicken main meals.. Very apologic kitchen staff...
Nice laid back casual atmosphere.. Pop in and see for yourself.. After all was Friday evening..

Stopped here for lunch. The best burger and chips, the Barrington, I've had in years. The staff were friendly and beer garden was clean and comfortable. Thanks for a memorable feed.

Service & Atmosphere were warm and welcoming.
We have not eaten here for some time due to a couple of bad experiences but thought we would try again with new management.
This time we started with Garlic Bread which was GREAT!!!
Then followed by the Thursday Night Steak Special, it was really good and tasty, meat tender, chips crunchy and vegetables crisp.
The major problem was the whole meal was COLD.
We were early and Restaurant was not busy, maybe 6 seated and 4 staff cooking.
We raised our concern with Bar Staff (where meal was ordered) and the reply that “I will tell them” was somewhat disappointing.
We will give them another go, as in the past this certainly was the place to eat in Gloucester.

Reopen! Impressed with renovations in the front bar. Modernised without taking away from the country pub vibe. Food was very satisfying. Fresh fish and homemade tartare, crunchy chips and succulent farmers burger!

Really pleasant surprise here, the chef was extraordinarily accommodating, the food was delicious, the staff were friendly and the back garden was a great relaxed space. Highly recommend.

Pulled jackfruit burger. Food was tasty. A staff member came to our table with two plates and asked if we ordered the BLT, when we said no she walked away and asked in the front of the pub. 10+ minutes later another staff member came over to ask if we'd had our meal yet. It turned out that the food was indeed ours and because the original person had it wrong, she had just put them on the end of the bar and left them sitting while she went outside for a smoke. When she brought them back to us there was no apology, just put them down and walked away. The lady at the bar was very nice though.

My wife and I visited here while sightseeing in the area. We decided to have lunch and were very pleased we did. There was a very large selection of very tempting meals, and I decided to have lamb chops, and my wife chose chicken schnitzel. Both meals were excellent. The cost was $50 for both meals. There was also a good selection of on-tap beverages. We both enjoyed this experience and congratulate the staff on providing friendly and efficient service.

Bar staff fantastic, very friendly, a credit to the business.
Ordered a meal which seemed to take a while which was ok as we were drinking and enjoying ourselves.
Walked past the bistro before we had our meal and saw a closed sign so I went to check and got a mouthful from the bloke in charge. What a piece of work.
If its his business I hope it fails miserably, if it's not I hope the owner works out quickly the harm he is doing to his business and sacks him. Spoiled a really good afternoon.

Great old country pub. Serves a nice cold Reschs. Good country pub food. Have to dock them a star though as they lost our order so we ended up waiting over an hour for our meal. The staff kindly offered a full refund ... which we declined. That being said, I would recommend a visit and look forward to getting back there sometime soon.

Great feed but that's about it. Worst beer I've had in a long long time, no clean glasses, and insufficient staff over the Easter weekend. Been going to this place for over twenty years and it's a shame to see what's become of this once amazing little country pub.

Arrived early for a drink beside the fire. Rain came in and so we stayed for dinner. So glad we did!
Delicious food and very reasonable prices with lots of choices.
My grilled Barra Thai style was great and hubby loved his beef pie texmex style.
Love those chips too.
Staff were friendly and very accomodating.
Definitely a stop next time through Gloucester!
$21 plus drinks- what’s not to like when presented with a tasty plate of food and friendly locals.

Ah glad I went there as soon as we walked in the friendly staff greeted us with a smile and hello. We sat down and had two very nice meals and excellent service my steak was like butter. My wife’s pasta dish was also very nice. Considering we went there just prior to lockdown and treated with warm welcome. Thank you to all the staff there and I would definitely recommend this place to have a feed and a nice cold beverage. Keep up the good work and friendly hospitality.

Absolutely stop here!!!! Food is delicious, service is amazing! I had the $25 special and there was enough food for 2 people. Definitely will be returning!
