What a surprise we found at this hidden gem for kids. There is a small function room and inclosed play area for the kids. With windows where you can eat and watch them play.

went for a meal on Saturday afternoon. Table's have a dirt film over them and the duty manger allowed her child behind the counter to the ice cream counter. Child procced to put his fingers into the ice cream...not impressed.

We hold training seminars at the Balaclava twice a year and they never fail to impress. Great team and great place to hold you meetings or seminars. The food platters are excellent and the staff are great. Look forward to the next one!

We have always been very happy with the friendly, helpful staff & service at The Balaclava. Our family has many significant events held there from our Dad & Mum's wakes & Christmas family get-togethers & recently my sister's 80th Birthday lunch. Thank you for your service.

We did the Christmas Buffet lunch. Buffet food was amazing. The Christmas set up was awesome. The Staff were incredibly helpful and happy. Santa also came and gave out super cool gifts to each kid. Highly recommend booking in if looking for a Christmas lunch out!!

Typical Woolworths wanted mash and veg no coleslaw so they charge me an extra 15- 18 dollars. I eat hear regular but no more, I'll head to Gazalies from now on.
Thanks for your reply Craig I'll be down tomorrow to receive my refund as this was definitely not the case. I ordered the slow cooked ribs and asked for mash and veg instead of coleslaw and chips.The person who served me said I had to pay extra for a side of mash and a side of vegetables.

The Mexican Parmi special was spectacular. Pub style service in a clean venue with admirable pricing

the food here is amazing my favourite are the barra wingz ... ahhhh-mazinggg and the coconut sauce pairs well with the wingz. if i could i would eat this breakfast lunch and dinner . nice and chill spot awesome pub meals

Stopped in for lunch and a bevo. Ordered online. Easy as. You are better off doing it this way as can view huge selection of chefs specials. Meals came out together and didn't have to wait long. Very reasonably priced. Cold drinks. Clean and tidy restaurant and after meal, waiter offered glass of water. Great service. Will definitely be back. 11 out of 10.

Nice, large, clean rooms. Friendly staff. Food at Graziers used to be nice, I uber eats now. Dan Murphys right next to it.

Manager was well aware of coeliac disease and made sure she did everything she could to ensure that there was no gluten NEAR my food. Amazing service!

Looking for a local place on a Tuesday night we stopped by for a late dinner expecting normal pub fare. Meeting us at the door immediately after entering, a personable young man named George greeted us with a welcoming smile and brought us to our table. Joanne and I always sit next to each other no matter the venue anywhere in the world. George made that happen without a problem.
I mentioned that we might like a steak but our experiences with local pubs was such that we would usually choose as I said, typical pub fare. George in this case assured us that steaks at Balaclava are the exception. So, with that in mind we ordered one 200 gram Fillet and one 400 gram Rump steak done rare/medium rare. Along with that we requested a bottle of Cabernet Savignon from the Coonamara district and we were hungry and ready to eat.
To our surprise both steaks were done as ordered, salad greens were fresh and chips were crisp as they should be.
The place was clean, neat and well lit. All the staff members were busy and the atmosphere was pleasant. Cudos to the management for a well run establishment. We will be returning.

I had a Christmas get together with my friends. Great lunch, lamb shank was melt in the mouth. Service was excellent, staff really looked after us.
My only other comment was that the cocktail list was a bit short and not very interesting. Maybe a few more choices around Christmas time.

I attended a funeral wake which was held here on Thursday morning 20th June 2024. Everyone seemed happy with the food that was provided and also the drinks from the bar. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Great place for a Lunch. Good menu options and ambience. Kids worry free 😉, got kids play area inside the dining area.

Great place! First time visiting and we loved it. Great kids room, excellent food. Friendly service. Nice and quick meals too! Love the table ordering via the app 👌🏼 Excellent for fast paced families. Only thing was some of the games in the kids room were broken but that’s nothing compared to the great service. Will definitely return when we’re back in town.

Genuine review. The rooms were great but every now and again it would create a wierd smell from probably the cleaning products. Service is there when you need it. You all ways past the hotel when trying to find it because the sign is not facing the ideal way but everything else was perfect.

Came up from Townsville with my son for a basketball game. Found the hotel to be very secure & spacious. Hotel is close to city & will now make it an annual boys trip & stay at the Bala. Highly recommend & the pub food was delicious
