What a fantastic place. The staff are all so welcoming & friendly. Fabulous outdoor setting. The food was great, we were there for lunch. We would highly recommend you visit Barron Falls Hotel whenever you are in Kuranda. It is one of the cleanest places ever, enjoy!

Went for lunch (4 people) on Wednesday 16/11/22. I asked if the pie was made in-house, I was told the pie came from Dubbo NSW !!! The pie traveled from Dubbo to Kuranda, are they kidding!!! The schnitzel is a glorified chicken nugget of pressed chicken, similar to what can be purchased at woolies. Inedible. Disgusting. I asked the waitress why doesn’t the chef make them fresh. The waitress replied, we are only a small restaurant and we get very busy, they wouldn’t have time to cook it. What do you want for $20? So you’re saying it’s better to sell an inferior product than add a few dollars for a decent meal? The waitress said I was being confrontational and no one has ever complained about the schnitzel, the customers love it !!! I’ve looked at the reviews and it does have 4+ stars. Perhaps some customers get what they deserve. In my opinion, if you’re after decent food, look elsewhere. I would welcome the owners reply.

We drove to Kuranda for an impromptu lunch. We were not disappointed at all the hospitality here was welcoming and our lunch was really scrumptious thanks so much. A great pub very clean and tidy. Do yourself a favour when in Kuranda and have a meal here.

Turned up for lunch at 1.59pm on a Saturday last month. Kitchen was closing at 2pm but they were very welcoming. We had an awesome meal in the nice beer garden. Will definitely revisit and recommend.

This village fantastic, service ok but our meals were really horrible. My partner had the rib eye steak & i had prawn cakes. Yuck. The prawn cakes werent to bad everything else horrible. Was Soooo shocked after reading all the good reviews, must have been just a very bad day for chef/ cook. The pub itself was nice.

The staff here were horrible from the moment we walked through the door. The two ladies up front need to learn how to speak to people the disrespect and them constantly telling us what to do was so uncomfortable. While eating we sat there listening to them telling off other customers as well. I work in a high end busy restaurant so I understand COVID check ins and busy lunch times but there was no excuses for this it wasn’t even busy yet. I assume one was the manager as she seemed to feel completely comfortable doing and saying whatever she liked. My coffee cup was dirty which was another turn off unfortunately.

The staff here are so accommodating and lovely! Great live music on a Sunday from 1pm-3pm. Highly recommend!

Stopped off to this lovely pub while in Port on cruise.
I had heard about the price gauges that happen on cruise day but was pleasantly surprised that this pubs meals were very reasonably priced and yummy (unlike other locals.)

Steak burger with chip,steak was tought and over cooked and the chips where just as bad will I ne back absolutely NOT.

Sensational vibe and welcoming staff as we entered the pub on a Saturday afternoon. Standard pub grub hit the spot after a long hike. Very cold beers definitely helped. 4/5 ⭐️

Huge steak burger with chips! Steak was cooked perfectly and was so tender. It also had a delicious sauce on there, I think it was a bourbon bbq sauce.
Would go again just for this burger!

Great staff, super friendly! We were stuck in Kuranda due to the cyclone & it was a Sunday, so all the shops and restaurants had closed. Jeff kindly cooked us a lovely curry and made us feel welcome, even staying open later for us all.

Great relaxed atmosphere with reasonably priced pub meals and beers. Very chilled out on the back verandah and a great spot for people watching on the front high tables. Staff are super friendly and down to earth. Had the chicken wrap and it was great.

Great little steak sambo and hamburger, the out door area was spoilt a bit by the large smoking area at the end of the deck.

Friendly local pub with usual pub menu, burgers, parmie, fish & chips as well as lunch specials. Inviting open air beer garden. No dogs though.

Food was okay but not generous. I ordered a seafood basket. Its mostly chips and u got a very tiny tartar sauce.

Fantastic service from the moment we walked in the door. Were greeted by staff who talked us through covid protocols, food specials and ordering. The staff at the counter were friendly and helpful. The food came out super fast! Great place for lunch.

Deserves to be on "Kitchen Nightmares". The "Schnitzel" I ordered had a remarkable similarity to the deli schnitzel at coles and still cost $20.! If I really wanted one so bad I'd get one from Coles myself for $3!

Awesome start to our Kuranda day trip. Blonde lady behind the bar was beautifully helpful and lovely service. Even made us cocktails at 10:30am. Food is classic pub grub, exactly what we were after.

A nice outdoor area, however there was a seperate area for the smokers under the same roof (I didn't think this was legal), plus the smokers tables had the best view. The breeze whilst nice also blew the second-hand smoke back into the non-smoking area. We won't be coming back.

Actually I'm giving this venue a ZERO. Arrived for lunch on a Thursday. As we approached the front door we could smell the toilets (it was not pleasant) and inebriated people were milling around outside. The tables and chairs have the impression of a 70's pub, no atmosphere. Outside dining appeared pleasant but cigarette smokers made this not an option. We enquired about the menu (we read the good reviews and we wanted to try) 'So sorry the kitchen is closed today'....we missed that on the board on the way in. We were specifically checking this venue as we have a number of guests from interstate and OS who will be staying locally with us. Needless to say this will NOT be on our list of places to visit.
