we ordered multiple shared meals but they were not as described or pictured. restaurant manager said menu and priced has changed in the past week but they haven't updated the menu and photos. so rather than admit their fault and fix it he just walked off and said ill make sure they update it. not good enough. this is not how you run a business! i rated this place a while back but i have noticed a decline in quality and service.

Went over on Christmas Eve! Busy spot and food was okay also. Lentil salad 🥗 9/10, prawn pizza 5/10, ta doori chicken on roti 8/10, pepperoni pizza 8/10. Fair pricing and popular among the locals. Easy meal when you can't be bothered thinking where to go! Recommend it for an easy no brainer dinner out.

Went for a few drinks on Australia Day! Had a nice time ordered dinner in the bar area where the dj booth is, sat and had a few more drinks at the table right next to the music! Was enjoying our time up until, a very rude staff member came up to us, slammed his hands on our table and yelled “take your drinks off this table now! I need this table” and we were pretty shocked to say the least. He grabbed my partners drink out of his hand and continued to yell at us “I run this place, I’m taking this table” then grabs it and walks away leaving us sitting on bar stools with our drinks. Everyone in the area was shocked, and we just couldn’t believe that just happened. To whoever that staff member was, I just want to say I work in hospitality and I have never ever seen anyone as rude as you, you should really think about how you should treat you’re customers otherwise you’ll be out of a job mate. Don’t abuse your customers. We will not be back.

We had dinner here New Years Day and it was amazing. Great atmosphere, we were sitting out in the beer garden with the live music, and that was fantastic. We really had a lovely evening out ❤️

Very expensive, one glass of wine and a beer, $30. Meals also on the expensive side. We were there on Easter Saturday, and we were charged public holiday rates. Saturday was not a public holiday!. It was only after I had settled the account and walked away that the thought crossed my mind. Won't be back in a hurry.

This place use to be way over priced for what they offered. They now have senior meals for basic pricing around AU$20. Nasi Goreng is sensational. My partner had chicken shnitzel and liked as well.

The bistro was infested with large crickets. The pictured cricket was one of two that jumped from the wall directly onto our table. At least 5 other individual crickets were spotted either crawling on the wall or the floor next to the table. In addition, the food was grossly overpriced. The parma (with salad & chips) pictured alongside the cricket was priced as $29. This simply was not a $29 parma. The rest of the menu, including the on-tap beers, were similarly overpriced for the quality/quantity (or lack thereof). The only redeeming qualities were the great service and the (suspiciously) fast serving times.

The best thing about Barwon Heads Hotel is the location. It gets pretty rowdy on Friday and Saturday nights but if you're looking for a fun night with a band it's probably just what you're after. Good pub style meals in an open area bistro. No fun for the kids. Get a ride share or walk so you can leave the car at home.

Parma was like cardboard hardly edible, the prawns tasted like soapy water & we sent them back, other meals were also bad. Setting is nice on a sunny day for a drink but they seem to get away with subpar food because there isn’t an alternative pub in the area. Very disappointing.

Obviously pumping as it’s holiday season but even still with all the tourists there along with locals the service and food was amazing. You need to book to get it as they are flat out at this time of yr but worth the visit fir great meals and service. For pub grub a bit on the expensive side to be honest but overall worth the visit.

My friend and I were so excited to go to the BHP but at the door we were refused entry. OUTRAGEOUS! He smelt so bad and once we acknowledged the foul odour he took offence and accused us of making fun of him! Once we tried to tell him we meant no offence he barred us from entry for the week! As a paying customer please hire more secure security guards who can take care of their personal hygiene. I do no appreciate the horrendous smell. Do not step foot within 50 metre of the pub unless you want to lose your nostril senses.

Kudos to the chefs! My friend and I came to see one of our favourite musicians, Craig Sayer, playing in the beer garden. Our Beef Korma and Nasi Goreng arrived quickly and were simply fabulous. Being a chef is a hard slog, and I’m sure chefs often don’t get enough credit. We will be back! Thanks guys

It's always a good buzz. Great menu. Massive dinning area, and fantastic views of the river and ocean from the outside marquee

I really don't like leaving 1 star reviews but the experience we had today was surprisingly bad. We booked our wedding washup here and was given the Bridge Road room. We soon found out that you can only have small share plates served here. As we booked for lunch most wanted a decent meal so they were told to actually leave the room to eat the meal and then come back which meant the party was spread out across the pub. Apparently normal meals can't be served there as the tables had no table numbers but they actually did which was really odd. Staff were unsure and contradictory with a lot of information. We had a tab placed on the private bar but there was nothing stopping random people from walking up to the bar and ordering drinks which was placed on the bar. Only after I said something were precautions taken. As a pub I'm sure it serves its purpose but I'd certainly never have a function here.

I have been wanting to visit Barwon Heads Hotel for a while and it did not disappoint. Fantastic location, friendly, accommodating staff, delicious food and cocktails and a wonderful outdoor area that we sat in for dinner. It wasn’t overly crowded or noisy and the service was quick. Spicy marg was amazing!! Would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area!

I had an afternoon function here an it was absolutely amazing. From my initial enquiry, to the day of the function, the staff were amazing, going well above my expectations. Nicole (functions manager) & Liam (our bar expert!), thankyou soo much, you made the day a huge success. The food was great and our private room with the open fire was perfect. My guests commented how lovely it was! We stayed on for dinner & enjoyed the acoustic session. Thankyou for making my birthday a really special day!

Hotel room was okay. Barely get room service. But staffs at the Bar and Restaurant were fantastic. Good vibe, good food. At perfect location for beach lookout and morning beach walk. Would definitely return for the food and service.

Great Pub. Atmosphere was good and comfortable. Our table was served promptly and each meal was with the right person and did not need to play 20 questions to find out who ordered what - great staff!!! Food, well it would be up to the individual. Quality no problem, but selection seems "narrow" and to be directed towards the higher end $prices so as for value money is debatable. Go there again, yes, but would also see what else was available.

Great location for a pub and many options to socialise and watch the footy. The smell of the carpeted areas was horrific and something that takes a while to forget. The parma tasted ok but the chips and salad came in side dishes on the plate and we're in questionable serving sizes.

Food review only - we ate there this evening and the food came out so fast but was cold. Very disappointing. Lobster special was covered in an overpowering sauce. Lamb was just ok, Nasi Goreng was bland, steak and chips cold and the entree of tiger prawns were straight out of a sub standard warming tray. Service was friendly but the bistro was too noisy for a family dinner. We had a 5.45pm booking. And they were not full at that time.

Fantastic location and very friendly staff. Only issue was friend's daughter had to wait almost an hour for her chips. All the other meals came out very quickly. Otherwise no issue at all

Everything was awesome beautiful experience. Of course it is a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Our whole family came out full and satisfied. It's a must visit restaurant.

Dropped in for refreshments and a bowel of chips. Busy but not crowded, had a chat with a barman on their own tap and sampled a couple I've never had before, very kind of him. We were outside yet protected from the sun and the wind which made for an enjoyable stopover.

Dropped in for dinner and chose the Bridge Plate. Excellent variety and flavour combinations. Don't wish to rock the boat but beats a parma.! Get on to it.

Dropped in for a beer and some food at opening on a Saturday. All but the side doors locked. Dead empty, bar staff seemed bored and confused. Staff member asked us to move from the completely open empty section of the bar we sat in- not very nicely. No veg option on the kids menu. Bummed that I wasted money on drinks before I realised the fam and I were going to be treated like a nuisance. Maybe being dead empty on a midday on a Saturday should have been a giveaway…

Absolutely delicious food and great portions. My wife had the schnitz, the coleslaw was incredible! I had the Texan plate and ordered extra rib sauce (as a habit) wow wee the chicken ribs were something else. The pork ribs were fall off the bone moist. Chips on both plates were 5/5 flavour and crispy. We shared a bruschetta that was so light and tasty. We were both impressed and satisfied with our meals it could have been fine dining. Great flavours Chef. Thank you
