Very lovely environment, good for casual dining. However most area has no phone reception. The burgers are served with pickle, which is not my favourite.

Under a gleaming silver dome inside Bankstown Sports you'll see a glowing white sign for the Basement Brewhouse held up on three steampunk-style copper pipes. Descending the stairs will see you emerge in an attractive microbrewery, with dancing flames in a two-sided fireplace likely the first thing that catches your eye. Behind the bar you’ll find shiny fermenters and a row of beer taps to tempt you into extensive beer sampling. Being housed in the basement puts this space at the level of the keg room. This has cleverly been made into a feature, with a host of more private rooms having glass windows where you can watch the beer kegs being changed. We take our meal tucked inside a soundproof barrel, with our own television screen. Food orders are placed in the sunken dining room. The kitchen, led by 23-year-old chef Sarah Hanslow, is efficient and undeniably proud of their burger offerings. Generously adorned with thick, stretchy slices of smoky, coffee-rubbed brisket, Smokin’ Little Joes ($16) is a menu highlight. Hanslow explains they get in an experienced, contract smoker on the weekends, to ensure an excellent result. She keeps the brisket as the hero on a brioche bun with snapping fresh lettuce leaves, lightly dressed ‘slaw, Swiss cheese, pickles and aioli. But there’s something about a buttermilk fried chicken burger that gets me every time. The Chicky Babe ($16) takes a nicely seasoned, juicy fried chicken breast and teams it with more butter lettuce, golden American double Jack cheese and a splash of peri peri mayonnaise. Taken on a black charcoal bun, this burger is a winner. I was also pleased to see the menu offer up beer matches with each burger. As I was keen to give the easier-drinking end of the Brewhouse range a proper going over, we opted for cocktails with our burgers. I went for A Little Taste of Weiss ($17), a surprisingly tangy Archie Rose Gin cocktail that summons a Weiss bar using pineapple, lemon juice and macadamia and cashew syrup. My dining companion tried to ward off the cold weather with a Tropical Spice ($16) that combined mango nectar, pineapple juice and passionfruit with peach schnapps and Grey Goose Vodka, cut with enough jalapeno to stop it from being cloying. To accompany our beer tasting journey, we hit up the other half of the menu that offers up charcuterie and cheese. Our San Daniele Prosciutto ($14) and Saint Agur Blue ($14) arrived nicely presented on a board with guava paste, dried muscatels, crudités, olives, Nigella Barossa Bark, bread and Pepe Saya butter. From their extensive 27-tap range, we selected two Tasting Paddles ($8/4 x 150ml). As this bar is exempt from contracts, they’re allowed to pour whatever they want, meaning their list is pretty exciting. On this occasion, I skipped over some of my favourites like Batch, & Modus Operandi and only drank Brewhouse beers. The best beer I drank was the 4.3% ABV Brewhouse Pineapple Gose ($4/middy). This sour beer is summery and light, and perfectly pitched at the Australian summer with sea salt, freshly juiced pineapple and a tiny suggestion of coriander. Natalie, who served us, loves it, and explains she took home a growler of it just last night. I also loved the 6.5% ABV Brewhouse Cereal Offender ($5/middy) that uses rolled oats to produce a fruity, round and flavoursome American pale ale style beer (using American hops) that’s easy to enjoy. While the Brewhouse Pale Ale ($4/middy) showing a little bit of floral hops and a little bit of citrus, gives you no reason to not like it, my third favourite beer was actually their 5% ABV Brewhouse Sparkling Ale ($4/middy) even though it throws in a bit of melon. While it’s impossible to argue with the fact that gambling revenue is subsidising your meal and well-priced drinks, Bankstown Sports keeps their restaurants very separate to their gambling areas. I didn’t have to see them, or walk through them, between the (free) underground car park and Basement Brewhouse.

Travel out to Bankstown for the huge venue that is the Bankstown Sports club, and it is an institution in the area. The complex is a hotel, pokies and an amazing array bars and restaurants, you don't need to leave, especially when it's open 24 hours. On this occasion we went downstairs to the Basement brewery. It is a bar or microbrewery with over 30 beers on tap, specialising in craft beers. From American Pale ales to pilsners or ciders, there's something for every beer lover! You can also see the brew house in action through viewing glass. We got some beer paddles (basement brewhouse pilsner, basement brewhouse pale ale and american pale ale as well as the basement brewhouse sparking ale.) to sample the different beers. Food wise, this is the kind of place that is totally to go with a big group of friends to enjoy some burgers and fries over a couple of beers. Now, it’s even suitable for the whole family, with kids meals too for only $10. Between a group of 5, we had a huge selection of the menu offerings. With three adults and 2 kids, this we felt was a good mix. For starters and shared items, we had the Mac & Cheese Croquettes $12, Crispy Cauliflower Bites $13, Mozzarella Fries $14 And a box of Sweet Potato Fries $9. So moreish, but you gotta stop early before you get too full for the mains ahead. We also found the Cheat Day Platter to be a great deal, for only $89 you get any 2 burgers, pork ribs, buffalo wings, shoestring fries, slaw and corn. The burgers select were: *The Mighty Brewburger (Grilled patty, pulled beef, milk bun, jack cheese, lettuce, beetroot, bacon jam, special sauce) *Chick ‘N’ Lickin’ (Crispy buttermilk chicken thigh, milk bun, jack cheese, lettuce, chipotle mayo). These were both really good burgers and went perfectly with all the other sides. One of our dining members went for a hot dog, or “The Big Dawg” to be precise. Smoked frankfurter, milk bun, pickles, bacon jam, mustard, ketchup, crispy onions, chips for $17. The crispy onions were a great addition to this dish. Throw in a salad for good measure! The Brewhouse Chopped Cobb is nice and fresh and colourful. With Lettuce, tomato, corn, avocado, feta, egg for just $15. The new kids menu items are great - we opted for the Crispy Fish Fillet Burger, Cheese, Tartare Sauce & Fries $10! Finished off with the Brownie Sundae which was naughty but so nice! Brownie pieces, salt caramel ice cream, chocolate sauce, toffee popcorn, pretzels) $12. A large venue with plenty of booths, bar seating and tables and chairs. TVs and Foxtel throughout to watch all your favourite sports. Get the friends and family together for your next lunch or dinner out together.

This is the kind of place I Imagine when I think of a local place to eat good burgers with friends. The food is very consistent and has not changed in quality since the first time it opened. The price has definitely change post Covid but is still quite affordable. Space is quite expansive and there’s always a place to sit to have a meal. I think they would really improve the space if they added some darts or some pub games as it’s the vibe that they going for

This is one of the best venues for trying new beers. They focus heavily on the IPA and highly hopped beers, but that's just the way I like it. They have a few pilsners and largers too, but the pale ale range is huge. They have a great 'pub grub' menu. The burgers are huge and very reasonably priced. This is a great place to watch sports, if that's your thing. However, it's also a great place just to sit and have a chat and a beer. The atmosphere is really relaxed and decor is very stylish. Lots of clean white lines and classic designs. If you're looking for somewhere that has a huge range of locals beers then this is the pace to go! They even sell their tap beers in growlers. How good is that!?

The venue is absolutely a beauty. Great variety of beer. Really enjoyed the brown ale. The burgers looked delicious. I, however, decided on giant fries with various toppings. If I am being honest - they look better than they taste. The meat was really dry.

The chips were awesome. Thin, crispy and well salted. The burgers were okay, the lamb ribs were too fatty. But the highlight for us were the cauliflower bites. They were deliciously battered with a beautiful glaze on top.

So nice bar! I got Yuzu Nights cocktail and beer paddle. Super fair price and they have many nice corners to sit and free TV in each corner!!! I haven't seen it before and even you can change the channels. Will come back again. I like the mocha milk stout beer the most.

Really good artisan beer selection!!! Can’t wait to go back. I came here on a rainy day. Not much to do around, so, we decided to “camp” at the basement. The staff was friendly and warming us with a smiley welcome. When we asked for beers, they give us to try couple of them, and on the first choice the girl at the taps spotted on! We had an amber which We felt In love with.

Not very happy with my experience. 1. The ribs we ordered were undercooked. 2. We asked for fresh fries but they turned up cold. 3. The patties for the burgers are definitely not beef. They are mixed with either lamb and beef or just lamb. It’s very rubbery & dry. We didn’t feel good after it. 4. Overall we waited 1hr for our food (it wasn’t that busy considering it to be Mother’s Day & we ordered before a lot of people who came before/after us) 5. Overpriced. The smallest rack of pork ribs for $36. It barely even fed HALF a petite woman. 6. The cleanliness was ok. There was a bad odour in the air… wasn’t particularly great to smell. Otherwise, the alcoholic beverages were the only nice thing that we enjoyed.

Just want to update my rating from 3 to 1 since there are incidents that happen repetitively during our visit. We like to visit basement brew house for team lunch on Friday afternoon. One of my teammate has allergic to eggs, that's why he always mentioned before hand not to have mayonnaise or anything with eggs in it. Since our previous last visit, the chef/server didn't get the order right. There was event where: First, burger came in with mayonnaise in it, even though there was clear instruction for the allergen. When the food was sent back, it came back to us with coleslaw salads (still have allergen in it). On another time, burger came in with mayonnaise again. After advised that my teammate can't eat anything with eggs in it, server apologise and correct the order. But this time they missed the extra bacon which he paid 3$ extra for it. Whenever this happened, we have finished our meal already and have to wait for the burger to be correctly made. Employees need to be trained in how important to take order for people with allergies/ health issue. If this happened to kids, this can cause serious medical emergency.

Have been here a couple of times now. Burgers are OK, I had the Smokin Littlle Joes and i felt it was lacking something, maybe some sweetness? They have a large selection of beers - 10 of their own that are fermented onsite. They seem to have an issue with many of the beers from other breweries though, there was an underlying off flavour - as I was there for an amatuer brewers judging we all picked up on it.

Had dinner here with a friend before attending a show within the club. Decided to order starters instead of burgers as a main meal cos I’m not a big burger fan plus was limited in options on other main dishes. Lamb ribs was tender/tasty and kimchi side was yum! Crispy chicken tacos was big & cauliflower bites was ok but the batter was too thick (maybe better lightly battered). Shoestring fries were nice. My passion fruit caipiroska cocktail was refreshing & really hit the spot!

Had a pretty poor experience here recently. Our group had made a reservation and the booking confirmation advised us to go to the bar so that we could be seated. I informed a staff member at the bar regarding the booking time and name and she said another staff member would be with me shortly. After waiting for a few minutes and nothing happening, a second staff member finally approached. When I explained that we were looking to be seated and that we had a reservation she didn't acknowledge what I said in any way and simply proceeded to walk away. At this point both myself and the members of the group were confused/frustrated and wondering what was happening and whether anyone was actually going to assist us. After waiting some more, a third staff member approached and we were finally seated. On a separate note, there was an incredibly drunk lady shouting obscenities at other patrons at nearby tables or anyone who walked past. Security didn't do anything about her for the entire duration of our meal. The beer selection here is pretty good but the food was average (chicken burger was overcooked and dry). The customer service did leave a very bad taste in our mouth. Not sure we'll return.

Great food and home brewed beers. Inside the busy Bankstown Sports Club. Also a good place to watch a game of NRL with loud passionate Bulldog fans. Fast service and large food portions. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the large variety of beers.

Good atmosphere with decent food. Quite pricey for the Bankstown area. Not recommended for lager drinkers. Their ale and pilsner are quite different. A unique experience nevertheless.

Can’t go wrong with this place. Amazing atmosphere, clean environment and friendly staff. The burgers are always solid and so was this one. Ordered the beef burger and it was delicious. The beef was perfectly cooked, the bun and salad were fresh. Will definitely go here again and they also have a large selection of German beers too!

Came here to catch up with a few friends and can say it was very pleasant. Great Clean environment and the staff were responsive and very attentive. We had burgers so and simple drinks but the setting is nice. I ordered a burger with i gave up trying to bite and instead used a knife and fork. Was awesome though.

Been here many times and it used to be awesome, after they introduced a new menu it has really gone down hill. They used to have a real unique and great menu. New menu is bistro food at best. Was there last night for Origin 1 and had to wait almost 2 hours for our food - the game was nearly over by the time we got it. Yes it was a busy night, but not that busy. Been here for other Origin nights that were much busier with no issue. To top it all off, after spending over $100 on the night, was slugged with $15 car park because I did not validate my parking ticket - which I was not made aware I had to do. Myself and group I was with all agreed after all seeing the sad decline of a once amazing favourite, we won't be going back.

Been here, many, many times over the years. One of the better beer places in the Western Area. Stunning taplist that has always something interesting, the in housebrews here are honestly some crackers, and all of them are worth trying out for a thirst cruncher. Food has always been extremely well cooked and plentiful, considering the price. The atmosphere is lively, but not overbearing. The staff have always been friendly. Absolutely nothing wrong with this place, the only beer place in this area worth visiting!

Been here a number of times now and everytime I come here there is enough new beers for me to try for at least a couple of paddles (4 beers @150ml each per paddle). ----------- So I only came here for the drinks and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of beers available on tap - maybe 30 or so? Some beers were brewed in house with lots of guest beers on tap and available in cans (another 10 or so). Great thing is with the free membership you get 10% off the bill - nice! With the paddles you can get 4 different beers to try them out first so you don't have to commit to a whole glass, although they have 3 different glass sizes so you could have a smaller glass if you wish, but let's be honest the pint is the way to go!

Basement Brewhouse is a bit of a hidden treasure located at Bankstown Sports Club. The venue itself is very cool indeed with many lounges and TVs setup in the place. Went for an early lunch and ordered a beef brisket burger on brioche. The meal came with shoestring chips and postmix cola. The burger itself was very filling, however, when it comes to brisket, this could have done with a few more hours cooking. Tastes great but good brisket should be melty. The major positive was their 'spicy aioli' for which tastes like mayo but has this lingering heat to it which was amazing. I will definatly return to try out the rest of the menu. Staff are polite and venue is clean. Cost for food is average, meaning expect a very decent meal for the price you pay. Now I am hungry for more, check it out yourself!
