Went for tea. Got a seafood catch and a parmi. The seafood was way overcooked. Didnt look right either. Old reheated maybe. Chips dry as. Salad was terrible. Crumbed seafood lookedburnt. Left on the plate. Price wasto expensive for wat it was. The parmi. Was dry the napoli sauce tasted off. Strong. Un eatable. Chips where dry. Rock hard salad wasabsolutely terrible. Again way overpriced. Will not be going back

Went away for work, beautiful spot on the bay and they have a pool!! 😍 The main reason I'm writing this review is for the lovely Jennifer that took care of us with a such care and she's so kind!! 5 stars to her 😇

We had dinner there tonight as a last resort option as everywhere else was closed. I'm so glad we did! The staff were amazing and friendly and the meals we're not only amazing, but came out so quickly after ordering 😊 highly recommend if you're visiting St Helens

We had a 3 night stay at the Bayside in a King Ocean View Room. The room was comfortable & the view beautiful! Every single staff member we dealt with was fantastic & exceptionally accommodating (especially Jennifer). The food was very nice in the bistro. Really can’t fault a single thing about our stay. THANK YOU!

Today we had lunch in the bistro lovely view and staff were great. But paying 34.00 for whiting fillets and being served frozen fish was very disappointing. It's ashame as lovely fresh fish available in the area which we thought would have been served.

This hotel has very spacious rooms. We were there for 6 nights. The rooms are over the main part of the hotel, but noise did not reach the rooms. The housekeeping staff are the happiest most helpful staff we have come across in our travels around Oz. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Thanks for your hard work.

The hotel room was quite spacious and comfortable. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had views out to the bay, and was lovely to see the sunrise from our room!|We were given a 10% Seniors discount on the accommodation as well as our meals!

The food was absolutely delicious! I had the spaghetti bolognese with garlic bread and my husband had the fish and chips. Really good value lunch specials, great view and friendly helpful staff.

The accommodation side was absolutely fine. We were happy with the cleanliness and tidiness of the place - we had stayed there 12 years ago so we noticed it has been very well renovated. The only thing was the meal in the restaurant - it was awful! It was supposed to be roast of the day - nothing on the plate had been roasted except a grape sized potato. We were quite stunned, also the vegetables had not been roasted - it was so bland!

Stopped here for a meal while staying in St Helens. Nothing flash about the decore, and the menu is what you would expect. The meals came fast and at a reasonable price. All up a good simple dinner option.

Stayed here juts for a night and felt like should have booked more nights. It was a perfect location, right next to the water front. The room had all the amenities and was clean. The carpet was dry and not moist inspite of a day of heavy rainfall. Just ensure you don't get the first room in the semi circle as you may get some traffic noise and will get disturbed if you are a light sleeper but other than that, everthing else was perfect.. Would love to go back to this town and stay here and enjoy the ambience

Pleasantly surprised with how nice this hotel was. We decided we were going to have a more budget holiday in Tasmania (150ish a night spend) and the 2 previous hotels we stayed in were very sub par. The bayside put us in a completely refurbished room with a beautiful view and daily housekeeping. The room was very comfortable and even though we checked in on the weekend, reception was attended and we got a lot of knowledge of the best paces in the region to visit.

Perfect location, close to all the things you need (bars, bottle shops, petrol station, cafe, stores). Very friendly staff. Big rooms provide plenty of space. They have a heated swimming pool as well

On Wednesday night we made a huge mistake, we spent the night at the Bayside Hotel. Room was basic but clean, they’re obviously updating. Our room was part of a group around the pool with a roof over, making a wonderful amphitheatre effect. And they provide inflatable balls for patrons enjoyment. We went out for dinner and returned to bed ready to walk the Bay of Fires the next morning. At midnight the Hotel bar closed and “Janelle”, “Tammy”, “Greg” and a couple of other fellows returned. They were full of energy. They thought dodgeball in the pool was a great idea. The acoustics are so good I could hear the cans being opened. Until 3am we were subjected to such delights as “you can’t get fu*king pregnant if you fu*k in a pool” (yes you can Janelle, it’s why you’re a single mum as you stated) and “shut up c*nt” repeatedly (Janelle, Tammy is not your friend from the way she speaks to you). Jokes aside we were scared for our safety, the mood was aggressive and very drunken. There were full length windows next to the bed facing onto the pool. We left first thing in the morning and due to our fatigue took it in turns to drive to Launceston and skip our Bay of Fires tour. Response from management was lacklustre, apparently they’re renting rooms to workers so are doubtless making more money that way.

No accomodation used. Dinner 2 nights in a row here. Chicken schnitzel was great. Pork belly, small serve, but very tasty. Staff were very friendly and the place was immaculate. Good menu. Would dine here again easily

Kind of average. Had lunch, ordering scallops for $33. Received 9 scallops (same number as I received at Beltana Hotel in a small meal for $22...). Scallops were full of water, spurting out when cut, and just ok. Chips were crunchy but were totally unseasoned. Salad ok but completely missing a tasty dressing. Bit disappointing. View was nice but not good enough to get me back.

I was travelling with a group of artists and we were painting the fabulous scenery of the St Helen’s area. The Bayside was comfortable, with a very good bathroom and where my room was, ‘the dress circle’, I had fantastic views looking out on boats moored and a rugged headland in the background. There were plenty of restaurants, a good coffee outlet and shops handy. The Bistro at The Bayside provided a good breakfast and the evening meal there was enjoyable - Lamb Shanks.

It was terrible. I walked out side for a cigarette with my beer in my hand waiting for the meal. Little man with little man syndrome named James who works there kicked me out strait after paying 300$ for mine and my families meals. I waited in the carpark for my family to finish their meals. I'd eat anywhere else in sthelens except for there after that experience. The bayside should be charged with theft. The bayside hotel is a complete joke and from what I heard the meals were terrible also.

Imogen was fantastic with her customer service. Pub meals were pricey especially for the lasagne. Tasted like it was microwaved. Parmigiana was great. The pool was great and nice and warm

I had a quiet and comfortable night on this very well located pub in beautiful downtown St Helens. Check in is at the main bar, and the staff were really helpful and responsive. I wanted secure parking for my motorcycle, and they found me a great undercover spot near the surveillance cameras. The rooms were large and very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I had the town view room, and it looks old like the bay view rooms were even nicer. I had dinner in the pub - nice staff, cold beer but unremarkable food. There are lots of great choices here in St Helens and next time I will try one of the other restaurants. All in all, a nice and convenient place.

Food was average, scallops over cooked, frozen squid and sticky date pudding was below average. Dated pub which needs to improve, seafood in a town like St helens should be a1 but it wasn't. Maybe other food will be better.on a plus staff where wonderful.

don't go there, we had bed bugs in our room! They washed our clothes for us but no other compensation even though we only stayed there one night. They didn't even apologize, I'm especially thinking of the girls at the reception. I hope they cleaned the room well for the next arrivals. But the view is magnificent and the food was good.

Disappointing stay here - beware of bed bugs and indifferent staff.|We stayed here recently over the Xmas/NY 2023 period and noticed a multitude of bedbugs. Despite discussing this with the staff they were indifferent - we were not offered any alternatives or apologies. We spent the night in the car rather than risk bringing new friends home with us.

Bayside hotel is an incredibly unique experience. The wet carpet of room 306 was a nice surprise when I walked into the room. Nothing says ‘welcome’ like a moist sock. The bathroom itself was interesting too. Anyone taller than 5’11 will feel like a giant in a hobbit house whilst they squat to wash their hair. The cherry on top were the extra roommates we got acquainted with that night. These bedbugs were so friendly that they decided to snuggle up all over us. When asked whether we could swap rooms (because we could see room 303 was available through the open window) our lovely receptionist/bartender kindly said - Im sorry but no. Don’t worry guys, it wasn’t so bad, my wife and I just decided to spend the night sleeping in the car in the pouring rain instead. It’s not like we needed a good nights sleep before our drive and hike to see wineglass bay tomorrow. I don’t think anyone is expecting any resemblance of good service from a budget motel - but at the very least, 220 AUD a night should get me a nights sleep without catching some filthy bug Tasmania - come down for dissatisfaction. 1/5
