We recently celebrated our cocktail wedding in the Main Hall with around 100 guests. The space was perfect. The food was delicious (many compliments from the guests) and the staff were terrific
The communication through the process was on point. Huge shout out to Hassina who helped out a lot to make sure that we had the best night ever.

Went with a group for Wednesday Steak night. We were all very impressed with the quality & value for money, one of the best pub steaks around. They did forget one meal, but old mate got a free beer for his extra wait, so all good! Staff were all very pleasant and professional.
Will be back to try out some of the other weekly specials.

Went in for Sunday roast. The male staff member (who must be a new employee) told us the meat was pork, so we ordered it. The meals arrived and the meat was lamb. One of us can't eat lamb, so that was a waste of our money. We didn't say anything so as not to embarrass the staff member but also because we didn't have time to wait for any replacement meal if in fact it would've been offered. Quantity of meat was average to small. The vegetables were nice and well cooked - definitely not hard like a stir fry. The drink was a pot glass and not a small glass which was pleasing. Might revisit one day to give the meal another go but please ensure staff are fully trained on basic knowledge such as meat type in the Sunday roast. We can't afford to pay for meals that we didn't get what we were paying for.

Went for dinner tonight. After wait staff initially gave us the wrong meal (that they'd been wandering the pub with for at least 10 minutes trying to find the correct table) our actual meals arrived. The steak was OK, nothing remarkable. The pork belly was clearly reheated and was ice cold in the middle. We found a large piece of plastic in the mashed potato which the wait staff were completely unfazed and uninterested about. We didn't eat anymore after that as clearly food hygiene is not a priority. Probably skip this one!

We had my son’s 21st birthday function on Friday night, it was truly wonderful! All our guests enjoyed themselves immensely! The customer service - from the outset & the actual night of the function was exceptional. The food was beautiful & plentiful! The area we chose in the hotel was just perfect. Would highly recommend anyone that is organising a function - to look at Bells Hotel! In fact we are going to book another family members birthday function in June. Thank you again!

We had a fantastic time at our end of year party in December 2023. The events team were amazing to work with, in executing a wonderful event. The bar staff were super attentive and the food was amazing. Highly recommend having your event here if you're on the hunt. The main room fit our brief perfectly to enable us to play 'college party' games. Thanks to CHG Functions & Bells Hotel - such a great event!

Visited a few weeks ago for a Friday lunchtime Parma and wasn’t overly impressed. The Parma was pretty small for a $30 Parma and just felt pretty dry and cheap. Wait time wasn’t too bad and was easy to get a table.

The worst pub in Melbourne. Exclusively Lion beers and $11 a schooner for the cheapest (Hahn Super Dry). It's a Pokies/TAB venue and that revenue doesn't even offset the beer prices.
Disgusting parma that tastes like it's been microwaved.
Do yourself a favour and choose any other pub in the area.

The place is nice with beautiful drinks and meals. But met a beetle and a mouse while had a dinner. That is only one thing I really didn’t like.

The food was standard pub food to me. My side salad was over dressed and the deep fried calamari were too oily. On a plus side, the calamari were not chewy and it didn't have any stringy bits. Some of the water glasses on our table were dirty and I had to ask to get clean ones.
It was ok overall but there are better pub meals around for the same money, in my opinion.

Staying overnight nearby found Bells Hotel on Google nearby restaurants. Wednesday Steak night is great. Steak cooked perfectly medium rare, pepper sauce has a nice zing to it and chips crisp and tasty, topped off with a nice salad. Would definitely recommend.

Standard no frills pub with standard no frills food. Not bad for a random Sunday walk in but there are better options in surrounding area.

Nice service, enjoying the roof top area. Good value $24 dollar Tuesday special for steak comes with a drink. Except the steak was a little bit over cooked, but for its great value nothing to complain. Will definitely come more often for drinks and food. The chicken burger is so Beautiful, and the fish and chips.

My husband and I chose Bells Hotel for our wedding reception (Lady Kaye room) after our initial booking at another venue fell through. From day 1, Elle and the events team were amazing to deal with - they were so kind, thoughtful and attentive to anything we needed! The venue is absolutely stunning and the food was delicious - we had many guests rave about the cheeseburger spring rolls! I wish we could get married all over again just so we can have the reception at Bells again - it was seriously the best night we could’ve asked for. Thank you to Bella as well for being an amazing bartender and new friend - much love to Elle and the team from myself & Liam 💗💗💗

I had perfectly cooked barramundi.. service was great we were a gorgeous of 6 in a semi-private area.. friendly staff great vibe

I came with three friends for a great lunch pub meal after axe throwing at Lumber Punks down the road. The joint discount was added without hesitation and the staff were excellent. After decades of driving past I am very happy I went in for a meal and drink.

Great spot to soak up the sun today.
Beautiful service on a Sunday afternoon by the lady downstairs. Would return just for that.
Crowd pleasing beers on tap.
Rooftop with DJ may apeal to most but the quiet outdoor seating was perfect for a reflective moment after the market.
Agree with others that the toilets could receive a tad more love
All up, a perfect pub.

Great spot for watching sports, and putting on a bet or two! Front bar has good seating in front of TVs too. Never overly busy so atmosphere is rated slightly lower. Love the food, good service and wide selection of beers / wine. Beer garden and rooftop are pretty nice spots too!

Great local pub with one of the best roof top spaces and views in the area. It has everything, good pub food, several different spaces, TAB, pokies tucked away and dog friendly rear courtyard. It’s worth the visit and has great atmosphere when it’s busy. Food is good with large portions.

Great afterwork place for beers and pub food. Awesome seating outside on the balcony with city views. Bar personnel always friendly and accommodating. Perfect place for beer🍻 on a sunny day after work (or during).

Good food & good company cures all problems. Highly anticipated lunch date with the work family at one of the city's coolest pubs, featuring a rooftop terrace, beer garden, and sports bar. Food, service all is amazing. The renovations are beautiful also. The biggest let down is the toilets and the state of them. They are filthy & I can’t understand why it’s not be fixed. Graffiti, toilet paper everywhere, broken toilet seats & just dirty. Please for the classy establishment it is, the toilets need to match.

Fantastic service from friendly staff. The food was delicious. Quick, tasty, and well presented. We would differently return and look forward to trying more of their food.

Fantastic meal at Bells Hotel. Shoulder lamb dish was great as was the steak. Staff very friendly and attentive. Don't know why you would go to an expensive restaurant when incredible food like this at a realistic price is available. Best and reasonably priced and great staff in a South Melbourne hotel. Thankyou Bells Hotel

Fabulous grand final day spent on the rooftop.
We all really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff were all Power houses to keep up with the crowd. Definitely would go back.

Came here for a function. The meal I had was the Barramundi, and it was exceptional. I highly recommend it, light and beautiful. Great range of drinks and other meals. Disappointed I missed out on the chocolate brownie, but the team assisted me in my chocolate craving with a hot chocie, thanks!

Apart from the pub's money grab, this day was a complete failure!
To pay a $50 entry fee for AFL GF Day with 1x meal and 3x beers included you would at least expect your beer to be poured in a glass, not plastic. I am also following up further action in relation to my ticket, the conditions and what I allege is misleading. #poorform
What pub serves beer in plastic?? 👎
However, if you buy a glass or wine or bottled beer then it will be in glass, makes sense. 😆
Understandable on NYE, but not one of Australia's biggest sporting event days and a chance to showcase your venue.
Bar 20 people deep, 1 person serving. Seriously, who is this Publican?! #noidea 🤔
I ended up buying Pure Blonde bottles, it had a rusty taste, these had clearly sat out in the sun for a prolonged period of time or are out of date. This is what the beer tastes like on Christmas Island when they sit on the ship for a month during transport. #expublican
I ordered 2 meals together. The lukewarm parma with dry chips & mushy salad (see picture, pictures don't lie)(sitting under the heat) came out within 3 minutes of ordering, burger came out 25 minutes later. #notfresh
👑 the worst pub to watch an AFL GF at in Melbourne due to average service, poor food quality, beers in plastic and running out of beers on tap.
I could not be more critical of a venue.

A great local pub - friendly owner & staff, food was great, portions were massive!! Spacious seating & cute lil rooftop terrace. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be back!!
