We went with family to their local hotel for dinner and had a lovely evening. The staff were welcoming and lovely, the food was fantastic and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. It was a week night and not very busy, but we had a lovely time and left the venue very happy.

waited 1 hour for 3 meals in a near empty restaurant.. no apologies given, it seemed the staff cared more about their conversations than the service they provide (or lack there off) with young children we left at 8:30pm opting for the maccas drive through as a better option for efficiency. save you’re money and your time we definitely will not be back.

Visited during renovations, limited menu on offer but what we ordered was nice, vegetables cooked well but real mash potato would have been perfect to finish the meal. Liked the fact meals were delivered to the table too. Burgers were a little expensive I thought. Customer service could have been more prompt but were friendly otherwise. I had not visited again since my first time in 2008, but will gladly visit again in the near future. Looking forward to seeing the post renos.

This review is for take away meal. All I can say is YUM. I hadn’t thought of buying a take away Steak Burger and chips from the tavern. I’m glad my daughter recommended them. For value and taste, you can’t go wrong. Nice friendly staff as well.

This place such a great place to relax and unwind with a drink and food and a relaxed atmosphere. Especially after a hard day's work.

They do a good meal but the main bar is poorly run. On a Friday night there is hardly anyone in the bar and you still have to wait to get served because there is no staff available.

The Blacks Beach Tavern used to be our local when we lived in the area about 10 years ago, and we enjoyed eating and drinking here for the great food and reasonable prices. We stopped in today for a couple of drinks and we’re shocked at the prices. For two pints (beer and ginger beer) it was just shy of $32. It’s still a nice venue and all, but the drinks prices are expensive.

The Blacks Beach Tavern Staff were amazing! They accommodated our needs & we felt very welcome! Our big family of 6 had a great time in this extremely family friendly environment. The meals were very filling & satisfying. Thanks for a lovely experience.

Probably the best chicken schnitzel we've ever had! BBQ chicken pizza was excellent too! Would highly recommend!

Pretty much the worst pub I have ever been to in Aus. $12 for a schooner in a dive bar Seen better toilets in Trainspotting. Don't bother.

Our wonderful local pub. We go at least once a week. The food is good and the drinks are cold. Courtesy bus is available.

Oh my goodness, our meals were delicious, perfectly cooked steak, we couldn’t eat it all! Pizza was divine, definitely worth it, we’ll be back 😊

Nice staff, but feels like a firewall birthday party.
No ambiance, limited selection on food (think catered event style food, not high end), drinks were normal. Prices are not bad, but basically a casino with lights all the way up throughout.
We needed a late bite and they did serve later than most, but I would of rather gotten a pizza and taken it back to the room with how this place was.
Bottom line grab take out or hit the grocery store over this place.

It's not a bad place to eat, if you are tired of grabbing a take-away (and want to eat in - although they do a take-away service). Food was alright bar the horrendous amount of salt put on my chips. This 'salt-assault' is sadly indicative of Mackay in general. Please let us salt our own chips.......please.

Held my 50th at this place and they went above and beyond to help with anything I needed. Checking everything was correct occasionally and service was amazing. Friendly staff, maybe a little expensive but worth it for the service and food. Will definitely be back

Have been going here for 10 years. This stopped when the elderly nasty waitress that took our order told my son to be quiet (basically said shut up) because she couldnt hear on concentrate on taking our order. Meant to be a family restaurant yes!!!

Friendly service... clean and tidy venue. Meals came out all together and didn't have to wait long. Great tasting meals. Cold drinks

First time at this place and it was much bigger than expected with lots of tables in the restaurant along with a separate sports bar and gambling area.
The food I had was pepperoni pizza which was made fresh in the pizza oven. The pizza was around 12” in size and you can certainly tell it was made fresh as it tasted great. My wife had the fish chips which was better than average but not the best she's had. The restaurant was as good as empty even at lunch time and it could probably do with a lick of paint but that's just nitpicking. Staff were very friendly and helpful with zero complaints from us.
Overall a good venue and will probably be back.

Excellent pizza I was going to take some home but I couldn’t stop eating it so I ate the whole thing. Steak sandwich was also great we asked for regular toast instead of Turkish bread and it was no problems.

At $12 for a schooner, and $25 for a burger, you’d expect somewhere a hell of a lot better than this. The toilets were an absolute disgrace, and the place wasn’t even busy. We’re normally not picky when it comes to pubs, but I won’t be darkening the towels of this place anytime again soon.
