About Blacktown Tavern
Basic rooms in a down-to-earth hotel offering a restaurant, a bar & a bottle shop, plus an arcade. This down-to-earth hotel is 2 km from Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park and 3 km from the A44 highway. It's 6 km from Raging Waters Sydney water park. No-nonsense rooms offering TVs, Wi-Fi and minifridges, as well as kettles and en suite bathrooms. There's a laid-back restaurant with TVs, a terrace and regular live music. Other amenities include an arcade and play areas, plus a bottle shop and a bar. Parking is available.

We were in town for 5 days on business and stayed at this tavern hotel because it was convenient, low cost, and attached to a restaurant with great reviews. Small hotel, maybe 14 rooms, located in the back of the tavern, separate building, one-level. Plenty of parking by rooms or in back of the rooms. The rooms: clean, very small, fits a queen bed and one table; bed was comfortable, pillows were fine (I brought my own), floors are timber vinyl; bathroom has no bench/counter, just a sink, toilet, shower, one towel rack, a sliding farm-like door, one window for venting (no fans, which is fine, no noise); lots of power outlets (yah). Air con works great. There are now blackout curtains (thank you) bc the lighting is super excellent outside the rooms (good for security). Not too bad with noise from neighbours, surprisingly quiet later at night.

We hosted my late mother's wake at the Blacktown Tavern's function room. The staff took care of our family and guests with such care, attentiveness and compassion. The wake menu and pizzas were great. Thank you to Patrick, Chris, Rochelle and the crew for your wonderful work in making this difficult time for us a little easier. Our guests were extremely happy with your service and venue. The function room was set up as per our requests and you did not hesitate to assist us with the technical hurdles with the AV equipment for the slideshow we had prepared of our beautiful mother. The celebration of her life was truly special. Thank you!
P.S. My brother and father also send their love and appreciation. We will be back.

Visiting from Brisbane & this was my first time coming here - the food was great! Biggest highlight was the amazing service we received from Donna. From the moment she greeted us, she made us feel so welcomed. Her customer service was the best I have ever received in a very long time! Thank you Donna!

This review is for the tavern motel only.
The Good: Good location and easy to access. Plenty of parking. The staff in the tavern were pleasant and helpful even though we checked in quite late. The bed was very comfortable.
The Bad: The quick and cheap renovation has not brought the rooms up to a reasonable level even for this price point.
The furniture is old and tired, with doors slipping off hinges etc.
The curtains do not fully close at the side... good for peeping Toms, not great for ladies who want safety & privacy.
The shower water is totally erratic, the (sometimes) hot water just does whatever it wants.
Sink is too small to get the kettle under the tap.
No exhaust fan in the bathroom. Really?
The Ugly: The towel rail was so loose it fell off the wall as soon as I hung a towel on it.
The toilet bowl was broken. (See pic).
Shower had no curtain, and old damaged taps and tiles.
Power point with no cover.
Disgusting toilet brush.
Broken ceiling around smoke detector.
It seems obvious that the owners of the motel have absolutely no respect for guests here. There is no excuse for this many issues. This place is a disgrace.

The layout has changed since I came last. The pokies room is smaller and more compact. Would get crowded if full. The sports bar is more open and customer friendly

I'd love a menu change as long as you keep the prawn and chorizo
It'd be great if you had a rewards program for regulars like other clubs and pubs

Room clean but very basic. Bed comfy.
Food in tavern quick and tasty. Staff friendly and helpful
Given hair-dryer on request - non in room. More tea and milk on request- not topped up for 2nd night.
No shower curtain.
Sink too small to fill kettle
Outside light on all night so room not very dark for sleeping.
Towel rail almost falling out of wall.

Room 10, not as bad as some others have stayed in but there was a hole in wall, cabinet doors off hinges and mouldy, hot water took ages to arrive. Generally ok for the price I paid.

I was very fussy with my order but Donna was very gracious & helpful to get my order right and made sure I was happy with it. Kellie did great to manage it too.

It's a very nice place to stay, very supportive staff, rooms are clean and tidy, overall it's a good experience with Blacktown Tavern.

I don’t normally write reviews but had to make people aware of this one. As seen after I read reviews during my stay again similar. I nearly went to change my room it was that disgusting to me. ||Long stand of hair under my pillow, more on the other side of my bed and pillow, hair up the shower wall. Then opened my sheet, wasn’t blood but some sort of tomato sauce stain maybe. Didn’t take the hair photo as I already picked them off but sent my partner this one below. Little but not what you want to find under the sheets. ||Also some drugged up person creepy outside the accommodation. ||The walls are so thin all night you could hear everything, you can’t sleep. ||There is also a sensor light on outside I’m sure this was on all night. It was like been on nightshift and daylight outside seeping through the windows brightening the room. ||The staff inside the tavern for dinner were awesome and helpful, food was ok- I had the scotch steak cooked well. Not the best cut of meat but ok. ||Just stay away from the accomadation I’m sure you would find something way better and bare able for $125 a night. If my company didn’t pay for this I would so complain. This should be a cheap $50 room at most.

Haven't been there for years, our neighbours said we going to old comb and cutter, has it changed , Fantastic, food was good as well...and good service 😋..

Have a fantastic tasting meal there @ least twice a week being a full-time S/Mgr & single Dad. Keep up the great meals & always friendly staff.

GREAT PLACE!!! The food is delicious! Not only is it a quick and easy good meal, the atmosphere is great and having the arcade space and indoor climbing equipment just makes it that much better. You can eat in peace whilst your kids play haha!
The staff are great. Never had a bad experience.

Great, affordable meals. Outside dining area with live music. Daily specials, and an indoor play area for the kids. Fantastic place for the family to enjoy dinner. Kids get ice cream with kids' meals. We spend about $120.00 for 6 of us, including entrees.

Good location (walking distance to Blacktown station and shopping centre), plenty of parking, pleasant staff.
This place is OK for an overnight stay just to sleep but nonetheless look for a better place to stay.
Furnitures are old, fridge cabinet door is slipping off, there’s not even a towel rail in the bathroom, no exhaust, toilet bowl broken, no shower curtain, sink too small.

Food is great but 2 family members are coeliac and couldn’t eat anything at all. What a pity! Please adjust your menu to accomodate

Do NOT recommend. The lady at the bar was blunt and rude, work on your customer service - thanks. I was double booked for a room, and till this day I still haven't been refunded. When first informed about the double payment, the lady at the front desk said she'll reimburse me after showing her proof. It has been over a month and no refund still!! What in the actual heck

Disgusting motel. We stayed there for 3 nights. Cleaning hasn't been done, and when we requested for that they said, they will clean the room, only at the check out time. Even though you live there for a week. They really don't care about rooms as their main focus is on club and restaurant. We will not recommend any one as they don't provide essentials also on daily basis. Poor quality.
