Went to the Blue Bell again on the 5/01/2024 and our meals differed greatly to our last visit - myself I had the steak and surf which was well below the quality for the price I paid. My Sister and my partner were also disappointed with their meals. In other words the Blue Bell has slipped in the way that they prepare their meals.
- We had a New years Eve dinner for two in the Bistro and we weren't disappointed. The staff were not only efficient but also very friendly. The meals were well worth the money we paid and I was pleasantly surprised by their size. Overall the eating area is not overly large if you like to have a bustling atmosphere around you but the quality of the staff and meals, this cannot be denied.

Went into Bistro with my family today and the large lady was so rude and literally threw the menus on the table like a pack of cards. We left, your attitude and miserable face lost customers for good. No wonder businesses like yours struggle. Your prices were ridiculous as well.

We enjoyed a lovely meal. The staff were fantastic. It was a nice quiet atmosphere.

We can highly recommend ordering the fettuccine carbonara - so much flavour and perfectly cooked pasta.
The staff are friendly and happily accommodated for our dietary allergies. 10/10.

This is your standard pub you went to with your folks as a kid, nothing spectacular, but it gets the job done.
Had a rare scotch fillet steak, which was perfectly cooked, the chips were pretty standard. They also had Furphy on tap, which was great!

The place looks a bit tired but the food was great. The steak sandwich was delicious and a chocolate mousse was divine. I would definitely recommend it. The staff were friendly.

Really nice night at the Blue Bell hotel in Ballarat, Victoria last night for their Trivia night. Alan was the host and such a nice fellow that did a great job. Lots of laughs and learnt heaps. The Blue Bell hotel opened in 1859 in the gold rush and is the second oldest hotel in Ballarat. We even won 2 bottles of beautiful local wine, how good is that. Really good value meals that were delicious too. $13 for a roast Turkey dinner that was very yummy and exactly the right amount and with $7 pints of mid strength beer to wash it down, it was perfect. Susie had $13 fish, chips and salad which she enjoyed too. Great pub and an awesome night.

Large meals. The kids Parma was probably big enough for adults. Normal pub bistro vibe.

It's a good local bar to visit. But it's big pricey with its food. Be honest.
The most of staffs are friendly and nice only one or two of them are bit rude and moody.
We understand sometimes the hospitality industry is a tough environment to work, but it's also very important that the staffs are wise and maintain the customer service.
Let's hope next time we can get a even better experience while visiting.
Overall, it's still worth to visit sometimes.

I ordered a scotch fillet and it was very grissley not very nice , I also wanted Dianne sauce but was told you don’t do it anymore which is ashame no one does it in Ballarat, the last steak I had was really good here I hope next time is better

Hands down the best food and restaurant staff ever.
Come from NSW and was recommended this place.
Big meals, fresh, staff is so friendly, and quick service.

Had the steak sandwich, it was delicious, and the Turkish fried bread was great. The buffalo wings that we ordered were not very spicy, and the aioli had way too much garlic

Had a great meal. Everything was delicious. Service was fantastic, couldn’t fault it. 100% perfect. Next time we’re in the area will definitely eat there. Thank you staff. So friendly and courteous.

Great place with great staff but when the weather is a little warm outside they crank the air con up so much it’s freezing cold like sitting inside a freezer but inside the venue, you need to wear a jacket to keep warm. Ballarat people seem to love the cold.

Great food, kids cheese burger was cooked wonderfully, and adults meals where wonderful.
Confusing to have prices on each alcohol bottle to show their prices which is an awesome and clear idea to be paired up with a 'Free Garlic bread' sign on the counter, which is only free if the staff don't ask you if you want garlic bread. I found that a bit patronizing and shouldn't be there.
Time I was here there are three staff working the dining area. 1 lady was bright and bubbly made us feel welcome, 1 lady who was going through the motions (too busy to smile) and one who didn't talk to us at all.
Overall a positive dinning experience and enjoyed our time there.

Great experience. Customer service in bistro from Jess and Emily was brilliant. It was a quieter night so very pleasant atmosphere without too much noise or overhearing conversations from other tables. Food was delicious. Very fresh and cooked to perfection. We had the blue bell mix, then my man had the pasta boscaiola, which was one of the best pasta I've ever tasted. I had prawn twisters as after the share plate, we were already full. Enjoyed our time here so much that we stayed for an after dinner cocktail. Great food and drinks, reasonably priced and excellent service. Highly recommend.

Food was really bland and tasteless. I had the lamb shank, served with mash and peas. The only good thing that could be said about it was that the meat was tender. Otherwise, it had no taste, the mash was a bit lumpy and not creamy (despite having tons of butter in it, by the taste of it), and the peas were a bit hard. Overall, totally unenjoyable meal. Service was adequate but by no means excellent.

Food was excellent.
13 meals on our table all came out almost together and they were all hot.
The staff were professional and welcoming.
Would come back again.
Menu had a reasonable choice of dishes and was reasonably priced.

Despite booking well in advance there was no table for my friend and I as someone else had been seated there. We booked the seniors meal and although it was substantial, the vegetables were still frozen. When our desserts arrived, Pavlova, the berries were frozen. A visit to the toilets afterwards was very disappointing as the floors wet and dirty.
