Simple rooms in a casual motel offering an outdoor pool, a restaurant & a bar, plus slot machines. Set 1 km from both Mackay train station and the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens, this casual motel is 5 km from Bluewater Lagoon water park. Straightforward rooms offer TVs and minifridges, plus tea and coffeemaking facilities. Parking is complimentary. Other amenities include an outdoor pool, a casual restaurant and a bar, as well as a gaming room with slot machines. There's also meeting and event space for up to 90 people.

Went here for evening meal with my parents on a very busy Saturday night. My parents had seniors meals. Dad said the fish was alright. In dad speak, that means good. Mum enjoyed her crumbed steak. I had a korean chicken burger. It wasn't as much flavour as I've had in the past, but I was expecting that as it's a pub and not a Korean restaurant. I had asked for no onion, but they put spring onion on it. Once I took this off, I lost a fair bit of the sauce, which probably took away some flavour. I still enjoyed it.
The chips were good.
The waitress, Katie, was excellent, as was the bar staff.
There were a lot of kids and they have a play area. I did see a couple of kids running around a lot. They nearly tripped the staff twice that I saw. I would have asked them to play in the playground or stay at their table. It's dangerous to the staff as well as the patrons.

Went for dinner with friends, ordered via the QR code on tables. Even though we had to wait over an hour for meals due the app not working the feed was well worth it. The staff tried their best to make up for the technical error. We will definitely be back again

Went for dinner on a Friday night. Booked late and they still got us a table. It was busy, but the service was AMAZING.. it was only outdone by what was possibly the best steak I've had in 10 years and I'm not easily impressed when it comes to steak! My mouth was in heaven!! We'll definitely be back!!

We had a lovely meal on Friday night. The staff were very welcoming and the service was attentive and friendly throughout our meal. We sat outside and you can order at the table via a QR code or go to the bar. Drinks and food arrived quickly and everything was very tasty and the portions were large. We would definitely go back

we didn't stay in a room. just had a fathers day dinner. and its well worth going for a weekend lunch/ dinner staff is professional, food tastes amazing

Walked in with 6 mates for lunch 1 blond bar attendant working , other long brown hair girl saw us at bar & walked away .. Blond repeatedly tried to get help - nobody came ,counted 5 other Staff there
Great job Blondy ( Renee) .. service with a smile under the pump & Alone .
Followed blondy when she went to restaurant 3 “Managers “ in office , blondy asked for cameras on so they could watch & help when she got busy .. NEVER seen ANY of these others even pour a beer

To The staff.... Codie & Layton r ok. Too young to b in a managerial position, but they r. ... Case in point ... they've lost a customer tonight. A traveller. Someone who would have returned time and again. But not any more.
Buy Cody (how does one spell that), and Layton ... look after your local patrons. Cause I will certainly discourage all truckies from patronising the Boomerang.

The staff were great but the food was outstanding. If they take the time for the little details like removing shakers for grinders, providing coasters for the table adding extra attention to detail then they would have received a 5/5. Perfect steaks with that char from the BBQ flavour. crisp fresh salad with free side gravy. That was a nice extra. Sweet, spicy Korean Chicken burger? Are you kidding me? Winner Winner you know what! lol Definitely a place to make a local, regular haunt. Highly recommend.

The rooms were quite outdated but yet still comfortable and accommodating.
Food and service in the bar/bistro were great.
Location for travellers checking in late and not wanting to leave the highway or for truck drivers is perfect.

The restaurant was great. You can book beforehand and order through the QR code at each table, both your meals and drinks, as well as pay for your meals.
They have a wonderful menu and a large cocktail selection.

So we went to the bistro for dinner as it was our 45th wedding anniversary. We were surprised with a bottle of wine on arrival! Could not fault the staff service and friendliness plus the food was perfect. Thank you everyone for an awesome night! Greatly appreciated!

Room was nice for the price awesome staff,beds the worst sleep ever, food was eatable, If you work in paget very convenient place to stay, trucks are very noisy at 2am + refrigerators trucks go all night great fun.

Loved it.. travelled up from Emerald, first time staying there and the staff are friendly. Greeted with a warm welcome. Rooms are clean. Good beds. And the restaurant is near by. Great service. Fast. And food was delicious. Would highly recommend. I would go back.

Hubby and I enjoyed a nice meal at The Boomerang. ||He received two pieces of fish with his seniors meal and took a piece home. ||My beef salad was very fresh and was plenty. ||Fast service, friendly staff. This pub has had an upgrade and is great. Kids room also, toilets clean. Lots of pokies.

Had lunch on a Saturday. Meals and drink came out very quick ordering via QR code at table.
Best value for money meals in town. Venue looks great after renovations.
Crumbed steak parmy and kids Hawaiian pizza.

Food and service was great. A table of 7 and we used the table bar code and the Pass App. Bar staff super quick to table and very polite. Food was super fast to the table and all meals were large portions and thoroughly enjoyed. The beef schnitzel parmigiana was huge and super tasty.

Fair distance into town but really well located for botanic gardens. Reasonable location for bus n train. Is a typical hotel motel I.e. access to pub, food n gaming. Was good to see a guest laundry with 2 washers n 2 dryers, plenty of washing powder just gotta ask :) Keep up the good work..

Drop in for a bit to eat . It's a great place to do that . The food was great and the staff as well . Clean tidy . There is a gaming room if you like that . Service was great, and meals came out in good time .
I hope my next time be as good as my last time .

DO NOT!!! get any seafood out of the three mussels I was served, none where open against my intuition the one mussel I bashed open tasted like mothballs the squid was even worse

Best vegetarian spaghetti I've ever had, the meals were massive and well priced, the staff were very friendly. Definitely coming back soon.

A heap of customers walked into the bar during lunchtime service. Renae was left out front on her own after repeated calls for assistance from staff with service. Service took way longer than necessary. A few extra hands would’ve helped.

2pm yesterday Monday 13/11/23 I asked Renee for assistance with tab machine in pokies area and while she was assisting me kasey came in and rudely told Renee to go back to the bar as other staff were finished
Then kasey sat down and ate her food leaving Renee no choice but to stop helping me!
Only 1 other staff serving in bistro, she left 1/2 hour later.
I observed Renee working the whole pub herself, sports bar, pokies area, bistro, tabs, serving food, keno machines, outside eating areas, pour drinks, clear tables, fill fridges and finally sort my issue

190 dollars.. a night.. I know I didn't have a booking.. but no shampoo or conditioner. Just soap.. hot water was plenty. Nothing in the fridge.. TV stated service is unavailable.. only a couple of channels.. poor... super poor
