We had a family/friends lunch for my son’s 6th Birthday on the weekend and I’m super impressed. The family vibe for a ‘pub’ was peak level and they even had free entertainment for the kiddos which I was told happens every weekend! We ended up staying for 3 hours enjoying the atmosphere. The food was great, the service was also great. I would highly recommend for any families who would like to enjoy a nice lunch out on the weekend with the kids 👌🏻

Was made aware of the hotel was recently renovated so it was worth the drive to go and check this place out. Very different to what it used to be and was a great job done in terms of project and how they built the hotel. sadly the rating on this was about the food and the quality. I can't say that I'd ever again pay $25 for three prawns on a plate that says char grilled prawns for entree was of any value especially the way things are with the economy at the moment. It was that poor they should remove it from the menu. The menu is your basic pub food but the pricing V quality needs a lot of improvement for a return visit. It was clearly underdone in terms of quality. The prawns were dry Steaks weren't cooked medium as they were requested and it was just a really average feed. Won't be rushing back and there were six of us and all Thought the same thing so I'd invest wisely when you pick off the menu. Staff were super friendly

Visited Brighton Hotel for the first time with my family tonight as it was highly recommended by my sister. I had placed an order through the QR code for a rump steak and triple choc brownie at 6:45pm. The steak came in a timely manner and I was so pleased with it I even brought one for take away to give for my Dad which also arrived in a timely matter yet I still hadn't recieved my dessert. I notified a waitress that we were still waiting on dessert 40 mins later and she assured me that the desserts were the only orders on screen and that the team were "making it from scratch". 15+ mins had passed, other desserts were given out to customers and we still hadn't recieved ours. By this time our plates had been cleared, I was getting impatient and we were ready to leave. I notified another waitress that we still hadn't recieved our desserts and we finally recieved them at 7:59pm. I'm not sure if this is the standard process/wait time for dessert since they are "made from scratch" but a heads up or a check in by staff early on would have been greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, although the dessert was pretty good, the wait time for it and lack of care really ruined my first impression which is reflected in the low rating.

Totally hit & miss, it all depends who is on shift & if there is enough staff. Some of the staff are fabulous ( especially the 3 younger girls that were there before the renovations,) Marisa, Stacey, & Kate. Sonya in gaming and Brontë are also friendly and efficient. Finn & Carly are the standout newbies👏🏼 as for the rest I hope they are on trial. All they seem to do is stand around & have zero customer service skills ( even the older ones ).🥲 Even when the tables and DOSA are a mess. The renovations look great and the chefs so far get 5 stars from me. The pass needs work, wrong food delivered, take away orders left sitting and a wait of over an hour for a roast & chicken parmigiana 🤷🏼‍♀️ As a regular patron for over 12 years, I truly hope this is teething issues. And not AVC only caring about revenue.

Tonight was our first time returning since the new renovation and it was unfortunately an underwhelming and disappointing experience. A porter house stake was ordered as medium rare, which came out medium (almost medium well). This was sent back to the kitchen and to their credit, they sent out a new stake fairly quickly, however the new stake was not a porter house, but the cheaper rump stake. The new stake was cooked perfectly so we decided to eat what we had received, but we discovered the poor quality rump stake was 1/3 fat/gristle. It was also noticed by all parties at the table that the salads are now underdressed or only dressed with olive oil, so the salad is very bland. The renovated space is absolutely beautiful and service was fantastic, but we won’t be returning for the food if the standard doesn’t increase, especially with the higher food prices. Higher price means higher expectations.

The recent revamp has the place looking and feeling great. Good, varied seating options inside and out to suit all requirements. Ordered off the qr code, drinks came out fast and food followed within a reasonable time. Staff were professional and courteous.

The perfect pub hotel for a business trip! Modern clean rooms at a fair rate and a very satisfying pub meal….i hit $20 steak night and was way better than expected (juicy and tasty / not tough) great with a side of wings…the vegetables were crisp and the mash smooth and creamy… toning more needed!!!!😀😀😀

The magic man!! This place really turned my head as I walked up to the front door I greeted by friendly staff Heidi and Chris (self acclaimed “cross eyed magic man” ) who escorted me to a table outside with a spectacular view of the bay! Upon service I was delighted when I received my espresso martini made by you guessed it the steely eyed magic man himself! Not only was it sophisticated but it was made with a certain sense of class you would not expect to find in a little hotel by the bay! Tasteful and elegant served with a smile that makes you melt! I highly recommend your next outing to the fabulous Brighton Hotel located in Sandgate!

Stopped in at the newly refurbished Brighton Hotel for lunch. With an amazingly new setup and floorplan that feels very modern and welcoming. The service and food was outstanding! Will definitely be back.

Staff were great and very professional. Outdoor seating area is great and spacious. Lots of TV's for entertainment and not loud at all which is a relief. Lots of older kids (13-15 years) were playing on the new playground which we found to be very dangerous its not suitable for older kids. They were climbing on the top of the equipment with lots of little kids observing and trying to copy. lots or parents of the younger kids were telling them off. I would suggest having the manger supervise this and reinforcing further stricter rules and age restrictions. Possibly create a teen hangout. We were served undercooked steaks but apart from that the food was wonderful. We will definitely be returning.

Staff were attentive, friendly and funny. They're worth 5 stars alone. Food was delicious and came promptly. Room was basic but very comfortable, clean and well maintained.

Saw on FB hotel bistro has been renovated & menu revamped soo decided to try it. Turned up with no booking on a Saturday night and it was busy. Outdoor area has nice seating and small area dedicated for children play (slide etc) and several families using it. Indoors bistro is clean, well spaced tables, warm welcome and waitress found us a table.||Menu has lots of choices and price ranges. Order via QR code or at bar. I ordered via QR code which was easy to navigate & friend chose the bar option. We all had the roast dinner (seniors $17:90, non seniors $22:90), Coke Zero ($5:50), friend had different wines. ||Food arrived quickly, good portion and nicely presented. Meat was cooked well as were potatoes & pumpkin, other veg slightly over cooked but I prefer al a dente. ||Definitely will go back

Regrettably I have to agree with criticisms of the server that was taking meal orders on Friday night.A line of people waiting very patiently. And when getting to the front of the line finally the Server is grim. No smile or greeting, unattentive to the point where I have to repeat my table number 3 times as did the person before me...transaction concluded and she calls Next!... After a busy week of work...going out to dinner should be pleasant...its the little things that speak volumes...hello...sorry for the wait....what can I get you....smile

New hotel but was not overly happy with menu. Ordered medium/well done steak(was more medium-rare), had handful blanched beans and 2 blanched Brussels sprouts cut in half. (I prefer my vegetables a bit more cooked, instead of vegetables barely cooked)2 small stalks broccolini and mashed potato. The plate looked very boring, no colour and vegetables were tasteless.

Never had an issue within the venue. While i remain far from achieving familiarity regarding their overnight board/accommodation service , im no stranger to finding the welcoming feel of the mostly natural easygoing individuals perpetuating an inviting, welcoming atmosphere.

Just newly renovated …. Good location on top of the hill in the bayside suburb of Brighton…. Steak sandwich and chips recommended, good size piece of steak, bacon,cheese,salad on sour dough bread with a generous serve of chips … $25 but of good quality … will return 👍

Just had lunch and the food was great. The rissoles were lovely. The staff are so nice and friendly. The new venue is stunning and worth a visit.

Have eaten at the hotel twice now with my family since the new revamp. The service is what stands out the most and will keep us coming back. We’ve enjoyed the food too, no complaints at all, fairly standard pub fair. But the staff have been so friendly and kind, it sets them apart from other similar places.

Had to ask a few times to order meals. Food came out cold. Drinks didn’t arrive, had to go up and ask for them. Quite possibly the worst pizza and pasta we have eaten to date. Frozen box pizza and microwave pasta? Staff then reached over and cleared plates before 1 person was finished. Had to ask for the food back! Do yourself a favour and cook at home

Had a great meal. Quality and sizes are amazing. Very relaxed atmosphere and able to dine near the playground to keep an eye on the kids.

Great renovations to bistro. Fantastic atmosphere. Friendly staff and great service. Drinks came out super fast food not so fast but really good, understandable considering they have only just reopened.

Friendly greeting from staff ..... but when I went to order and it took forever! The person in front of me felt that she had joined the table she was standing beside because she standing there so long! I understand that they were busy but what made things worse was the sour, rude and uninterested server (Heidi)..... I waited patiently while she checked her notifications on her phone .... she was a shocker .... botched my order ...... really nice woman refunded my meal ..... overall, not a great experience.

Food was very late. (1 hour) but everyone else got their food before us. Then they got my sandwich messed up but it was already so long so i ate it anyway. I tried to get some service so i can fix my sandwich but they just ignored me. Don’t recommend going here, much better places near by

First time back tonight since the new renovations. I must say it looks great and the atmosphere was amazing. Had dinner and the food was absolutely worth it. Will be back soon for another meal.

Customer service a solid -1/10. Young girls behind the bar are entitled and just plain rude. They talk down to patrons and act as if they are the best thing to walk this earth. Clearly they do not care about revenue or quality customer service given their tone, eye rolls and negative attitudes. It’s obvious these staff members do not care and I would suggest that management take a serious look at the kind of staff they are hiring and the kind of attitude they present to their patrons. The amount of people I know personally, that have been coming here for YEARS as loyal customers that are absolutely sick of this kind of service is ridiculous. Unfortunately, rather than improving your service along side your ‘improved venue’ the attitude from your staff are just growing worse and are declining rapidly. Really, with an upgrade like this your service should have improved also. Perhaps more money should have been spent ensuring quality training of staff/customer service. Sooner or later you’ll lose more customers than you’ll gain if you don’t fix this issue. Shout out to Sharon though for always being incredible

Brighton Hotel freshly renovated with bright clean lines and comfortable furnishings. Friendly attentive staff who met our needs and requests. |Food was tasty and reasonable. Enjoyed our time there where we could hear our conversations while background atmosphere was still celebratory.

Awesome meals at great prices... Staff were very friendly and professional.. Couldn't have asked for a better place to eat.
