Who doesn't love getting recognition with stars? I take the act of sharing my favorite things very seriously, and for me, it brings me as much joy as savoring crispy chips! During my enchanting sojourn at the Brunswick hotel in Fortitude Valley, I delighted in savoring delectable chips served with a savory dip, while quenching my thirst with the delightful effervescence of lemonade. I waited patiently for the chippies to dine, Before I poured myself more lemonade so fine.

We love the relaxed vibe of this venue…Beer garden is great summer or Winter. Lucky to have this as our local. Sul is always a welcoming friendly face.

We came with a group and harmony was the most amazing host. I had dietary requiements and she went above and beyond. She went over everything I could/couldnt eat and was generally the nicest waitress I’ve ever come across.

This place needs a serious shake up. No real atmosphere on a Saturday night, could have used a nice live singer or band. The decor is very tired and rough around the edges. Food was not of a high quality, the chicken caesar was one of the worst I've had, they used left over scraps of chicken. My friends parma and chips were very average, tasteless. We also had to move, due to smoke in the area next to the table were advised to have our meal at. My hope is someone who knows hospitality and good food buys this place, it could be a great venue with the right owners.

The chef Sam did a fantastic job. I asked for the steak to be cooked a particular way and he did beyond expectation. Did exactly what we needed and I can't ask for more honesty. Definitely am recommending to close freinds and family. Thanks again Sam

Sunday night early dinner party of 3; lovely, efficient and personable young lady (glasses and dark hair) who doubled as hostess/cashier/waitress. Food was excellent; pork ribs, steak perfectly cooked and parmy. Hope to come back during the week for lunch specials and when there are special event nights. Hidden gem.

Not many places these days have such good customer service, most places are happy for you to scan an app and just deliver your food. Our party of 10 were greeted on arrival, asked if we would like menus and table water and offer the nights specials. The managers Talea and Paul were serving in the bar and had us all laughing. We will definitely be back!

My usual go-to place in the Valley for a nice steak. Chef Robson has never let me down with any part of the meal. Atmosphere is good, and the location makes it a great first stop for a good night in the City. They always host some exciting events, too.

My experience there was terrible I went there to play the machines I wasn't doing well on the machines then I asked for soft drink while I waiting for my soft drink I lost 20 dollars more and was told by staff I could only have water later that night I returned to the pub thinking I'd try my luck again on entering the pub I ask for glass of water and lime only to be told once I've been playing the machines for half an hr I could have a glass of water 😡😓😵 So after walking for 15mins to the pub to be denied a glass of water on arrival I think I'll walk to a different pub and hope that when I arrive I won't be greeted so rudely cause I sure didn't feel welcome or wanted to stay there to win lose or draw playing there pokie machines

I visit the Brunswick Hotel weekly to play Mahjong with a lovely group of ladies. Talea and the Brunswick team always accommodate our every need from setting up our play tables to setting up our lunch table. We are well watered and coffee ☕️ is a joy. The Brunswick has a wonderful senior and family atmosphere with great staff who are only too eager to help with any issues. I look forward to our continued weekly visits.

I love coming here! Got the 200g eye fillet for a change tonight and was so impressed!! Best steak I've had in years cooked to perfection, chips were incredible, and salad so yummy!!! The pepper gravy is the best ever. Raved on about the food to my partner the whole evening. Can't wait to come here again! Staff are so lovely, service is great and such a great venue for dinner. Thank you so much to the chef Robson!!! Keep it up, your food is amazing! 💓

Had our annual Lions Club dinner in conjunction with a Christmas in July. The food was excellent. The hotel decorated our area with Christmas tree, ornaments and Bon bons on the table. Feedback from members said it was a great night. Hotel offered 3 course meal at a set price. Thank you Talea.

Good local pub. The food here is hit and miss. Once ordered a main that comes with a coleslaw salad. It's drenched with a dressing that almost looks like a dipping sauce.

Garlic Prawn Pizza- marinated prawns, red onion, basil, mozzarella cheese & tomato sugo ($32) Porchetta Burger- porchetta, kimchi, onion, lettuce, aioli, served on a seeded bun with chips ($24) Carlton Dry & Great Northern It was a dull chilly day but we wanted to sit outside amongst the atmosphere. Luckily they had warm fluffy blankets on offer which was amazing. Ordered off the QR code and decided to share a pizza and burger between the two of us. Food came out soon after and the lovely waitress brought over a knife and spare plate as she knew we were sharing. Porchetta burger was a special of the day and it was delicious. Filled with a decent amount of juicy, seasoned pork, placed in between a soft bun with a lovely added flavour and zest from the kimchi and aioli. Fries were crispy and seasoned nicely too. Although the pizza was on the pricier side, it was loaded with tasty prawns and a good amount of cheese and onion. The thin base was nice as it was light and allowed the toppings to shine.

FOOD & DRINK The Brunswick is part of the ALH Group, whose stable includes the Indooroopilly Hotel, the Newmarket, the Morrison and many other pubs around Brisbane. We’ve dined at a number of them and always found the standards to be consistently high. We’ve never been disappointed at an ALH Hotel, and the Brunswick was no exception. My wife and I dined on a quiet Sun night. We started with the beer special, a schooner of Great Northern Super Crisp at $6, and a glass of Prosecco ($8). Great way to start the evening. As seniors, we were able to avail ourselves of the discounted seniors menu. For entree, we choose the calamari, with chips, salad, lemon and aioli. It was delicious and chewy, and came with a generous serve of crunchy chips and salad. For our main meals, we both chose the 250g rump steaks with pepper sauce for me and mushroom sauce for my wife. Unbeatable value at just $16. Steaks were beautifully prepared and well cooked just the way we like them, but still tender and full of flavour. Steaks come with a choice of two sides, I chose chips and caesar salad, my wife went for the garden salad and mash. It was all perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals, so thanks to the hardworking chefs. We couldn’t have been happier. For dessert, our all-time fav, the sticky date pud at the reasonable price of $8. The pud was sweet and moist, and came with fresh cream, a dollop of ice cream and finely sliced strawberry to top it off. Perfect way to end a fine meal. AMBIENCE We both loved the relaxed, casual, laid back ambience of this place. The bistro space is large, spacious and airy with stylish, trendy decor and comfy chairs. It’s carpeted throughout with colourful artwork on the walls and low mood lighting to give it a perfect atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that you’ll feel happy to be in. On the night that we dined, it was fairly quiet, just a smattering of other diners, but that added to the calm and unhurried vibe. Acoustics were good and we were easily able to converse. SERVICE Our server, Morgan, was neatly turned out in a smart white serving jacket. She greeted us warmly and throughout the evening, she was friendly, efficient and attentive. Orders were promptly taken and drinks came out quickly, followed by the entrees and shortly after that, the main courses and then dessert. We arrived at around 6.00pm, by 7.30pm we were done, and that’s just how we like it. There’s also the option for electronic ordering, using a barcode affixed to a little disc on your table, but being a quiet eve, we found ordering with the waitress the easier way to go. TOILETS The toilets are sparkling clean, modern and well provisioned. They look pretty new too, or recently renovated, with ample male and female cubicles, strong lighting, rows of shiny basins and fast hand dryers. They’re well signposted and easy to find just behind the bistro. COST Taking advantage of the seniors' menu, we paid a modest $74 for two glasses of wine, a schooner of beer, an entree, two main courses and dessert. That’s outstanding value for money when you think that a humble cup of coffee now sets you back almost 5 pesos, so thanks to the ALH Hotel Group for this generous initiative to help out long suffering seniors. PARKING We found easy street parking on Brunswick St, opposite the hotel, where there were no weekend or after hours restrictions. The hotel also has its own car park, which you can access via Brunswick or Kent Streets. SUMMARY We had a fab evening and everything ran smoothly. Food was outstanding and served in generous portions. The cool ambience is perfect for a relaxing meal with family and friends. Service was efficient and polite. Add to that, clean and modern toilets, free parking and modest prices and you have an ideal evening out. They have poker machines too, if you want to have a little flutter after your meal. Thanks guys, we will definitely be back!

As the President of the National Seniors Australia, New Farm Branch, I am thrilled that we have settled in at The Bruns. We have been having our meetings here every month for the last three years and many of us stay on to lunch afterwards. The food is excellent – Chef Robson, you are a star! And the hospitality is second to none – Paul, you and your staff are brilliant! Professional and always good-humored. We are made to feel so welcome. You go out of your way to support us and make sure that we are able to make every meeting run smoothly. Nothing is too much trouble. Today we had a special event and you catered for our Christmas in July lunch. Everything was spot-on. The tables were beautifully set and the food was amazing. It simply couldn’t have been better. Our members were delighted. Thank you for looking after us so well. The Bruns is definitely our ‘happy place’!

Amazing homely pub, they have a round pool table which is in equal parts bizarre and fun. Josh, was our barman and he was incredible. Gave us a list of suggested things to do whilst we’re visiting Brisbane from Victoria. He also taught us a new pool variation and was fun, friendly and full of banter. Loved the atmosphere here!

Amazing food on every occasion. Can bring your fur babies and they even get a treat each. Talea and Trav were very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Calamari chips and salad $16.00 best calamari he’s ever had that’s huge for a huge critic. Chicken parmigiana with homemade slaw chips yum yum. Lava and dimples loved their homemade treats.
