We spent 1 night only in this motel, travelling from Blue Mountains through to Gold Coast. It was very clean & comfortable and very spacious. Although situated on the main highway we did not hear any traffic noise and had a very peaceful night. We would definitely stay here again.

Werent sure about this place as there were some negative reviews. We had a few beers and the vegetarian and supreme pizza. They were lovely. It's a small town country pub. Don't expect North Shore gourmet and appreciate it for what it is. We will stop over again.

We had a family gathering here last Saturday for around 30 people. This was an ideal location on a bleak afteroon. Open fires and the historical nature of the hotel set a nice feeling to sit around, have a drink and enjoy a great pub meal. The menu offered a good range from soup and snacks through to schnitzels, pies or ngers ad mash etc at reasoable prices. I can recommend a stop at Collector if travelling through to Canberra on the Federal Highway

We called in here for a pub lunch on a cold day, I just loved it, meals were great, just like the old days. Drinks were cold and they had the open fire raging, just fantastic. |We will be coming back with some friends, looking forward to it.

Very friendly bar service. The food experience was very disappointing. Waited 40 minutes and when I asked how long it would was, told they only had one cutlet left. The meat lovers schnitzel was dry and the salad had no dressing. Go for the history not the food.

This beautiful colonial era hotel is truly a step-back in time. With spirits in more ways than one this hotel is sure to impress history buffs, paranormal enthusiasts and the weary traveler in need of a rest stop. Even for locals in the area it's a great place to get away to. Highly recommended!

The vibe, heritage and service were great, but the food was not so great... mine was very average, looking at other guests, theirs werent better. The schnitzel was dry, felt like oven reheated rather than fried fresh. Dear owner please, you had 150 years to refine your cuisine...

Such a shame, but our experience for lunch today wasn’t good. We had booked but there was no acknowledgement of this as we were ushered into a second empty dining area (the first was full) which was freezing. A small electric heater was put on which made no impact in the 1.5 hrs we were there. Our meals took over an hour, with undercooked chips and the medium rump steak ordered looked more like a well done skirt steak. Not a hint of pink. Charming location and we know what to expect from a country pub meal, but they really missed the mark on the basics and to not have a warm room to enjoy our bevies in the middle of winter is bad form.

Such a disappointment. For all its potential this pub is definitely "give it a miss". The food is really bad, although if you like dried out once frozen meals, potentially expired, you won't go wrong. The inside bar and dining room look like they are never cleaned and racing blares out of several TVs. Reminds me of the old 1980s bogan haunts where men sit at the bar all day placing bets and drinking their centrelink payments. I thought i saw a few coackroaches scurrying around, but on second glance that was just a few of the locals 🤪

Stopped here on the way back to Sydney. Ordered a steak sandwich and a veggie burger. It took 45 minutes for the food to be ready on a very quiet day. We were also given a buzzer which also didn’t go off. Never coming back again.

Passing through to Canberra. Just off the Federal Hwy made it very convenient. It was late Sunday afternoon, nearly ready for closing. 3 other folks landed around the same time. The lady cooked on spec for 1 so we all ate. That is good service. ||||The room was up some stairs. Bedroom and bathrooms were pristine. Comfy bed.

Looking forward to visiting for mothers day lunch after reading good reviews. Unfortunatly we were to be disappointment.|They were reasonably busy due to mothers day but we did wait for over an hour for 4 meals to be served. I had the mixed grill and was asked when I ordered how I wanted my steak, I said medium. Well it was well over cooked and like most of the meal was just luke warm. The sausage was still red in the middle and unedible, The chips were hard and the gravy was like water. My kids had a chicken schnitzel and one a Parmy. These were well over cooked to the degree of being burnt around the edges and the Parmis cheese was dark brown. Now the Chicken ( which I tried) was a very weird texture, it tasted like it was not fresh compressed chicken. My wife had the pork chops which were ok but her veggies were hard and cold. Again her gravy was like water. I was so disappointed because my expectations were quite high. Anyway unfortunately we will give this place a wide birth from now on.

LIFE SAVING !! Otw to Canberra on motorcycle. So cold. This place not just gave me and hubby warm body before we continue on our journey, but the steak was so lovely!!!! Pepper sauce was better than I had many in Sydney. Chef, you are amazing and legend. The lady is so gorgeous. The owner is very friendly. I will be coming back with the kids next time 🍸😘👍🏽🥰 Thank you so much team and keep up the good work 💐💐

I was hoping for hospitality but there was none to be found. The $16.50 meal consisted of 3 tiny pieces of calamari not enough for a child, the vegetarian lasagne size was mean and similarly priced. The hotel has no air conditioning and there are no locks on the communal toilets. Not for families - keep driving to Goulburn or Canberra and give it a miss.

I stop here regularly on the way through to the Snowy Mtns from Sydney. It's a few minutes off the highway and the salt and pepper calamari is consistently good. Sit in the sun outside and enjoy that with a cold beer before driving off. Can't think of anything better

I stayed the night recently and had a very warm, comfortable room. I was welcomed, but not fussed over, (which I like). The men's bathroom was, I assume, renovated as it was in excellent condition, with an old-school look. Clean, with a nice hot shower . I have to say that I was not overly impressed with my chicken burger + chips. That being said, I would happily stay here again and next time I'll try the pizza or the fish and chips, because other reviews have said good things. There are a few options in the hotel to sit and eat, and I chose a dining room behind the bar, which I had to myself and I kinda liked that. I could sit and eat and read. Next time I might use the dining room and be sociable! Thanx for the stay.

I may have stayed here on a very busy weekend, but i really didn't have a great time. A few issues with the room, the bed in particular should be replaced as the mattress was not in a good way. Room and corridors were untidy as was the bathroom (even though the decor is lovely!) Staff were friendly enough, but they were run off their feet by an incredibly rowdy contingent which may have stopped them from paying attention to detail I'll give the place another try as many other people have written positive things about it.

Had a great dinner here - staff were friendly, food was good - everything you need for a relaxed meal with family and friends. Regular pub style menu with schnitzel, parmi, pizzas etc. with a good list of kids options too. Was a great option to meet between Canberra and Goulburn.

Great place to stop for a rest and a meal. Both the food and the atmosphere was superb. Highly recommended, get off the highways and support the local business owners.

great little pub with a heap of history. the seating out front is the spot to be, in the sun on an autumn day... just be a little careful of the paper wasps. friendly, simple pub food. opposite an artwork which has seen better days unfortunately.

Don't bother with a meal here went with a group had our orders sometime before we went. Meals very slow and not good cold chips and vegetables. Long wait for Apple pies some of our group had to help hand out food as we had been there so long and bus needed to leave.

Beautiful historic pub. Extra friendly service. Very reasonably priced. Delicious, mouth watering homemade meals. Great place to sit in the sun on the veranda on an Autumn afternoon. We will return again when next passing by- you should too!

A nice old pub we dropped in for lunch out of the blue. A bit daggy but the food is good ol pub style. Best chips I’ve had for a long time and the burger was delicious. Warm with fires burning in every room. Great service.

Amazing country style hotel just half an hour from Canberra and a couple of hours drive from Sydney. Very friendly service and ice cold beer. The vibe of this place is incredible, you can close your eyes and go back in time when bushrangers used to call this area home. The fact that it is allegedly haunted is an extra bonus!
