While this is quite a nice classic pub, the staff really ruin it for me. Their pretentious, superior attitudes start to wear on you pretty quickly, and seem completely at odds with the vibe of the venue. Wouldn’t recommend. Really good chips tho!

Went there on a Sunday night for a few drinks with friends. The back area is lovely and has lots of personality, plus every room of the pub has plenty of tables and space which makes it not feel cramped.
Probably one of the best pubs of the area, and definitely will become a regular

We haven't been to this place for a while due to Covid19. However, we went back for lunch and we enjoyed our foods and the kitchen staffs are friendly 👍😊🍷

Very good in its place of timing , with the locals Well hidden public house ,, the meals are great Just come , you will get lost , finding this pub , 1 great asset

This is a lovely traditional pub with really friendly staff. There’s plenty of seating at the bar as well as tables throughout plus there’s a good range of drinks at decent prices. At first it might feel a bit of a ‘locals’ place but it was really welcoming and I’ll certainly be returning when in the area.

There is definitely a ghost residing here. I felt a cold spot, I felt chills down my spine, I saw an apparition of a gentlemen drinking a glass of wine. I kid you not.
The food and atmosphere here is great, it seems like the spirit is content with this Hotel. You can enjoy live music to, which gives this venue more of an upbeat experience.

The Bartenders Jack and Phill had excellent customer service skills and were outstanding with knowledge of their stock. What the hospitality industry needs is staff members like this that are what the word suggests, Hospitalable! Good stuff lads!

Lovely pub. Looks pretty much it would have a 100 years ago. Great selection of beers and good food

Great locals pub in the backstreets of Newtown. Service is very good. Quick but friendly and welcoming. Great selection of standard and miss crafty beers. Food is nice. Great selection of vegetarian and meat options

Great little pub which caters for the young and the young at heart, hidden away in the back streets of Newtown. Good selection of craft beers and wine which aren't over priced and a bistro serving decent food at fair prices, apart from the Angus rump which was more like the 'Angus gristle with a taste of rump'!

Great food and drinks with great atmosphere. Staff are friendly and always down for banter and jokes. Amazing espresso martinis. Only issue was the pot plants around that can trip you up when things get busy.

Great food and amazing atmosphere. What was a complete bummer and made me give a 3 starts only is the use of single use plastic cups for all drinks including beer. Just why? I cannot find any single justification for why a pub would not reuse the cups and glasses, so please reconsider and I’ll happily change my review to 5 starts.

Cute spot that really opens up. Nice outdoor section and has some pool tables. Service a bit slow but very friendly and accommodating. Chicken wings were delicious.

Best pub in Newtown, not too busy as it’s tucked away from King st. Great beer selection as I’m a hardcore Bob Hawke fan and such a cute lil heritage building with vintage decor. Wish there was better music played tho :)

A pub myself and my partner have lived opposite for over two years, and have come to love. A pub for locals and walk ins alike. A pub for lovers of Resch's or craft beer. Pool tables aplenty, character by the bucket load, great food, even better people. A pub to cherish and enjoy.

A lovely pub nestled within a tight streeted area between two major roads, its a comfortable atmosphere with pool tables, a restraunt & outdoor seating. The atmosphere is rustic & the food scrumptious with some of the friendliest service i've ever met.
Would reccomend the walk away from the hustle & bustle of newtown to the carlisle & setting up next to the simulated fireplaces during a rainy day.

5 stars for food and the bar staff. The venue has no outdoor space that is smoke free, and there are always so many people vaping inside.
