Worst Steak and Veges ever. The potato bake offered as a replacement for mash tasted like it was 3 days old and reheated out of the freezer and looked just as bad as a yellow sloppy disgusting mess. The vegetables were all roasted to the point of extinction and appeared to be old reused veges roasted into tastelessness and the medium steak was charred to a crisp. And they had the hide to charge $40.50 for this disgusting gruel.

We were driving through so stopped for lunch. Ordered fish tacos & a smoked chicken , mango & avocado salad. Meals were lovely & friendly service. Cocktails looked good but we only had a lemon squash. Would recommend & return next time we are over.

We usually enjoy our meals at the Carriers but yesterday I took my elderly uncle for a meal and I was absolutely dismayed at the response given by management for a special meal request. $30 for 6 tiny crumbed prawns and some chips for a 78 year old pensioner with cancer who can't eat big meals and who rarely gets out of the house? We ended up sharing a seafood basket and the Carriers lost money that I would have paid for another meal. We won't be back until you start treating pensioners better. Disappointed 100%.

Went there for a work meeting. Its a spacious place. The food was really good 👍 xx

We dine here when passing through to Hervey Bay. Meals are delicious & the staff are always friendly. Bar staff helped to choose my cocktail & we enjoyed a chicken parmi & pulled pork burger. Never have to wait long if hungry, Can't wait to dine again.

Stayed the night in a suite room. Room is dated. Dirty cups and cutlery in cupboards and drawers. Bathroom flooded after showering as the shower leaked. Very noisy from other patrons and noise coming from venue. Would not recommend staying here.

Staff are brilliant, best hotel in town! Old school pub where people talk with everyone! I haven't eaten there yet, but I believe that their kitchen serves up a very good meal! As I'm moving and I'll actually be closer to here, I know where I will be able to have a tipple and get a good meal! Haven't been to the Thursday Afternoon Special late afternoons, but I believe it is great for guys whilst their wives go shopping? I haven't heard the open Mike on a Sunday, but told is worthwhile visiting for local artists and talent. 😁

Really enjoyed a meal here, great atmosphere

Our workplace was invited to a Gala Dinner at this excellent venue. The facilities, service by the staff, and accommodation could not be faulted. The catering for the dinner was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. I must say that the accommodation was second to none. My disable friendly room catered to all my needs. When travelling, having a comfortable bed and steady water pressure in the bathroom is a welcome relief, and this was delivered in spades. Thanks to the staff for a delicious breakfast, eggs Benedict, and friendly service by Sharlyn at reception. The attention to detail made for a most enjoyable night. I can thoroughly recommend this venue with confidence.

November 2023 - 3 Stars This is for management. We eat here at least twice a week. Q: Why would I pay an extra $5.50 for mash when I order a $49.90 Rib Fillet steak? Staff always give me mash with my veggies in the past but the menu and cash registers exclude it being on there so now staff have to ask the kitchen! Nowhere else have I experienced this. It is embarrassing when I question the awesome staff you have. It delays the queue also. February 2023 - 5 Stars Came in for an expensive steak today and ordered the special 'Fillet Mignon' and wife got the fish of the day. OMG the food was the best! We grabbed one of the floor staff 'McKenzie' who was awesome. Asked on how we could leave feedback on the meals. She looked a little taken aback but handled it very well. LOL 😆 We explained this was the best food we have had in Maryborough! Big smiles. She explained head chef Graham and Jayden work the kitchen to the best levels. We are coming back as regulars. Great work kitchen! January 2023 - 4 Stars I did not stay at the Motel but decided to go to the restaurant which was fully packed and booked out on a Thursday evening. That said the wait staff got us a table in the cafe section so we could enjoy a meal. Great food, great service. Prices of nearly $50 was high where I thought a country town would be less expensive. They cooked the steaks perfectly however! The chicken schnitzel was very nicely cooked and the buttermilk chicken burger so tasty. Only other feedback was the front bar was very loud and a lot of shouting where we were seated but that is to be expected when not actually in the restaurant. We will be back. Staff all smiling and welcoming. The way all staff operate here is amazing. Smiles and good customer. The chefs and kitchen produce great food too

Love this place. Great food, great service & reasonable prices. The entrees are always enough for me as a main meal. Highly recommended...

It's a nice large environment with lots of facilities and entertainment and dining options it's a great place to go and put the arms down for the day or evening

I stayed at the Carriers Arms motel in Room 31. The staff at reception were all very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and comfortable. I found it quiet throughout the night. The bathroom was also very clean. There were plenty of towels and the water was delightfully hot.

In town for the Tiny Homes Expo and decided to call in for a late lunch. Husband ordered the ribs and said “nice meal”. I had the Prawn & Chorizo Pasta which was tasty. 8 big prawns and lots of chorizo and whole cherry tomatoes. The 2 meals cost $67.75. 2 schooners of Great Northern original will set you back $17.00 Friendly staff.

In my opinion only, Disappointing, expensive, service a bit on the pushy side. I know things have become expensive everywhere, though I did not expect to need to take out a small mortgage for a meal lol. Atmosphere not bad, tables and some of the meal seating not fantastic. Ordered a burger with fries $18 honestly better burgers from fast food chains and around $5 cheaper. Rissoles served in a breakfast bowl, certainly made them easy to eat, not .Certainly would not willingly choose to return. Queue for food ordering, if it's busy your made to queue out the door, honestly fairly amateur hour, the gentleman giving directions where to line up for ordering, similar to being herded ready for livestock transport on a ship had a soothing tobacco waft. To compliment the atmosphere you have people coming to your table trying to illicit raffle ticket sales, wonderful, not lol. Much better options available in Maryborough. However if you love pokies then you will like this place.

Hotel stay. Rude check in staff. Extremely noisy. Both the road noise and pub noise made it impossible to sleep. People smoking right outside my door and mould in the shower. Do not recommend.

Having previously stayed in a backpackers hostel it was a great experience to sleep in a very comfortable double bed. Room had all the essentials that I needed for overnight stay. Only issue was distance from city centre without transportation.

Great location, the only problem is the bright lights outside the rooms at night, they should be on sensors

Dined in the bistro tonight - I could not recommend to anyone. I will start with the positives. All front of house staff with whom we had contact were friendly, efficient, and professional. I feel sorry for them that they work in an environment where they would certainly have to deal with disgruntled customers. By 7:45 on a Friday night a number of menu items were unavailable (perhaps only 40 - 50% of tables were occupied - certainly not busy). Once orders were changed to allow for unavailable items and ended up as 2 pasta meals, 3 burgers, a steak meal, calamari, and a seafood basket. After 30 minutes (almost to the minute per the receipt time stamp) we were advised that the kitchen had run out of calamari. Further 30 minutes until meals began to arrive. The pasta meals arrived barely warm and were inedible. Steak meal also inedible. I feel confident in saying that none of the items comprising the seafood basket were fresh or prepared on site. The 3 burgers (all different versions) were inedible. The only dish which was acceptable was the crispy skin chicken which was the replacement for the calamari. Kitchen management needs a good hard look (unless of course the fault lies with the General Manager).|I do not write this review lightly or with animus.

Did not use rooms. Food is normally quite good, roast, pizza etc. But disappointed with the chicken schnitzel. It used to be made with actual fresh chicken but they changed to some compressed rubbish that was awful. Still charged the same amount though. Recommend asking if schnitzel is fresh chicken before buying. Maybe they had complaints and went back, we can only hope.

Came in on a monday night to an almost empty restaurant, Waited an hour for mediocre food at top prices. Not all the food even made it to the table. The steaks were undercooked and stringy. Would not recommend.

Busy Sunday night when we visited for our first meal since Moving north but definitely disappointing when our meals failed To be Delivered. After several attempts to rectify this error we asked for a full refund and left without eating. Duty manager Jane tried her best to rectify and offered us free desserts to take away. This somewhat helped Placate us! we’ll definitely try to visit again but the lack of communication between kitchen and dining room is something they need working on

A very nice recently renovated comfy room. Please note:- we have stayed at Carriers Arms Motel many times, & enjoyed the central location, & very good food & service at the Bar & Grill. Always lovely staff & excellent food. Our advice! Do not stay in a room, on the Hotel/Restaurant side, especially on a Fri night!!! The rooms are far from sound-proof! 👎We had no choice, as there were no rooms left on the quiet side of complex. The noisy crowd across the carpark, on a semi open veranda of the Hotel, opposite our room, was terrible!! The day had already been quite stressful with sad news of my brother's health deteriorating, & him heing moved to a Palliative Care situation today. We were expecting to have a quiet, relaxing w'end at home, but instead, hit the road south, on a,mission to see him whilst he can still converse with us, before he slips into a Coma due to his only kidney in severe failure! My advice is to stay elsewhere, if you cannot book a room on the quieter side!

ATM was down yesterday inside , Young staff member with glasses and pony tail actually told me it's illegal to do cashout over the bar which is wrong , Directed me to go to bottle shop to withdraw funds , When I discussed it with the old blonde bar manager, Was unprofessional and rude , Bald head redhead dude who was a bar guy provacated a situation there and needs to be sacked , I can provide context of a very poor experience with poor customer service if management wish to follow up further, Will never be back.

Amazing food, great service..dispute the restaurant being extremely busy our meals came out relatively quick ..they were delicious..I could not fault our meals..thank you to the guy standing at the door, directing people to their seats, he was very polite and helpful

A group of us attended Community Flights Gala Dinner on Saturday night. The service, attention to detail and friendliness of the staff at the function and accommodation was second to none. My disable friendly room catered to my every need. I can thoroughly recommend the venue. Thanks to Sharlyn for your courtesy and friendliness. The eggs Benedict was a fitting farewell after a decent night's sleep.

A great venue to suit everything from an intimate dinner to large celebrations and live bands We enjoyed a large family lunch and found the restaurant to be surprisingly good 🏆 The wait, bar and restaurant staff were friendly and very helpful The dining / function room is quite large, with plenty of space between tables and even has an adjoining kids play room The menu features great pub choices and all of our meals were served promptly. Meal presentation, flavour and freshness were spot on 👍 The bar also serves great coffee and delicious cakes & desserts 🧁 There’s a large off street car park and level entry to the venue
