This is the most disgusting service I have received in a restaurant/bistro. Our mains took 1 hour and 20 minutes to arrive. Despite letting them know our table number they still had no idea what table ordered what, and all meals came out at a different time. My husbands meal arrived 40 minutes after mine. Also the grilled salmon was over cooked. Will not be returning . They ran out of chicken nuggets and did not let me know until after I had paid

THE MOST ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE IN SERVICE. RUDEST CHEF. ZERO STARS. Went for a celebration dinner with family. Had good experience couple years ago. NOT THIS TIME. Booked in advance. Waited for over 15 minutes, and no one even acknowledged us (3 staff members at the bar saw us, but we were ignored). Eventually sat down at some tables, (we have grandparents with difficulty standing for a long time). Still no one came. There was a big event, but no one told us. We ordered our food at the cashier and paid in advance. Still no one suggested anything, they just took our order. After 45 MINUTES, the teenaged cashier came up to us and said food will take another 15 minutes. It took ANOTHER 45 MINUTES FOR THE FIRST MEAL. This was now almost 9pm. The food came one at a time, over a span of AT LEAST half an hour. We had waited for around TWO HOURS. Grandparents were hungry so they ate even though they didn't like the food. My food itself wasn't too bad, but some of the other food was terrible! The Nasi goreng tasted like soap (maybe they didn't clean the plate properly?), Grandad's steak was undercooked. Everyone was upset. We complained and the chef offered free dessert, but given how terrible some of the food was and that the service was atrocious, we decided to pass. The manager wasn't in, so we left a contact number and she phoned us the next day. Here's where it gets worse. No one expects the food to be exceptional and working in customer service myself, I understand the pressures of dealing with high volumes of people. But the fact that no one came to manage our expectations or inform us of things in advance is bad enough. So the GM passes on my contact details to the chef (A WEEK AFTER WE SPOKE). She had promised she'd call back but I basically had to call THREE times to get an update. Basically handballed me to the chef they contracted, relinquishing all responsibility. The chef finally calls me and was ABSOLUTELY RUDE. At first it was fine, he said sorry and I said I understand it wasn't ENTIRELY his fault, as service was poor and there was no management that night. He claimed that we had not complained about the food that very night. When I reminded him we did, he said the person in charge that night told him otherwise (obviously a lie, he offered dessert at the end of the night because we were unhappy). He then had the AUDACITY to ACCUSE US of only making this complaint because we needed the money. Sure, a lot of money was spent that night, but would have happily paid double for good food and service. He kept asking what I wanted (I said a refund, even though he already knew this) to which he repeatedly told me it's not possible. When I ask why, he has no reason to give (also he OWNS the catering business). When I ask what solution will he provide, he said it's already solved and "I don't know why you are carrying on about this, now it's been more than a week" to which I said we complained that same night, spoke to the GM the next day who took a week to finally give us an update. I asked him what solution he was referring to and he couldn't answer. By now he had RAISED HIS VOICE over the phone. He got even more hostile after I asked for his name which he refused to give (perhaps not wanting to take responsibility or feeling scared for his reputation) Honestly, if he was in the right he shouldn't have behaved that way. I told him I will leave a bad review to which he basically welcomed me to. Overall, worst experience. GM made a lot of excuses, handballed to the contracted caterer, but at least she wasn't rude. The chef on the other hand is another story. Working in customer service, I understand that the most important thing a customer wants is respect. I clearly did not feel respected, and if he was working where I do, he would have been sacked for the tone and attitude he gave me. Even though I don't know the chef's name, his company is called D AND K CATERING PTY LTD. Rest assured, if I know any restaurant hiring them, I will DEFINITELY NOT attend. ZERO stars.

Sitting at our table before getting our meals 3 girls behind counter 1 girl brings back a plate from a table 2 girls followed. I'm sure there was things to do. Orded chicken,mushroom and bacon risotto. Was very salty and no bacon...had shredded ham. Sorry if it's supposed to be bacon then serve it with bacon not ham.

Seafood banquet is great value for money, become a member and earn credit and discounts on everything from food to drinks.

POOR CUSTOMER CARE FROM THE 2 LADIES AT THE FOOD ORDERING AREA.on 21/4/2023 Food was served, Roast for the day,potatoes and chicken stir fry had too much salt, talked to service ladies they ignored and carried on with their duties, I went to the counter tried telling them, the food had too much salt. The lady replied " We didn't add salt and there is nothing we can do " I requested to speak to a senior person ,they laughed and continued with their work. I waited at the counter until i went back to my seat. One of the ladies from the bar area came to my table and apologized and offered an alternative. One

Past dining at the Clayton RSL was at least 4 stars.. not today.. Love the warm bread normally served before the meal.. it didn’t come.. asked for it and it was served to another table ( looked like on purpose)the patrons on that table were waiting for dessert… The bread actually came after our meals were served.. Food was average versus the past which was tasty.. Waited 15 minutes after our meal for dessert.. it didn’t come… Asked for it at the counter and was handed the dessert over the counter.. Dessert was substandard too… Really like the Clayton RSL which we frequent as much as we can but felt let down today…

Ordered steak sandwich for my bday waited. Over 30mins which never waited that long before to find mustard on my burger yuk never had mustard on burger before the chips are normally nicer but they weren't.

Ordered lamb curry. Not enough meat. I received a quarter of it as fat. Very disappointed. This was served to me on 22nd of December.

Meals are varied and reasonably priced. We often eat before attending the Victorian Jazz Club sessions at this venue and always enjoy ourselves when we're here. The staff have always been very curteous and attentive.

Loud and noisy overhead speakers, not adequately adjusted for the amount of people in the room. If you're sensitive to loud noises and the painfully loud "random out of nowhere for no reason" bellow from technological feedback loop. The food was tardy, staff were not interpersonal. Service was slow. Everyone on my table finished their meal before I had a plate of food on my table. -4 stars for being felt like I was nothing more than food waste +1 because I know the circumstances are difficult for you with the number of patrons you had to service.

Just had lunch at the Clayton RSL.Dont bother eating there . I had a stomoach upset and my husband kept running to the toilet . Food was unappealing , tasteless and terrible . They need to take a note from Springvale RSL where the food is amazing .The toilets are disgraceful , broken toilet seats, rusty. Emailed the manager re . The above . No reply .

I had the Wednesday night special Parma WOW what a Hugh meal great flavour, fantastic value, 10 out of 10 I’ll be back next Wednesday

I had 1 of the worst meals at Clayton RSL 2 weeks ago. I ordered Nasi Goreng, it arrived with not 1 vegetable in it and no egg on top. It was that dry that I had to ask for sweet chilli sauce to put in with it to make it edible, even then I hardly touched it. Previously I have ordered the fish and I'm sure it comes straight out of a box. It is such a pity as I enjoy the atmosphere of this place.

Hubby and I had lunch yesterday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The meals that we ordered---Surf and Turf and Surf and Turf burger were so delicious!! 5 stars for the meals and service. Also thank you to Anne for the surprise box of flowers. Had a lovely day.Thanks.

Horses for courses - for $15 on a Friday, you get great value main feed - a generous serve. I was pleasantly surprised! I have spent more than double at Bistro restaurants & got a lot less in flavour & qty...Alcohol drinks are also very reasonably priced & my usual prosecco order for lunch De Bortoli small bottle was %6.50! Seniors meal is $18 with choice of 2, main with entree or dessert. I had seafood mix plate - tasty with crisp coating. Panacotta was 👍🏼 too. Hopefully - quality remains consistent if I choose to visit again with friends. Plenty of free parking onsite.

Had a sumptuous dinner last Thursday at the RSL! The cheesy garlic bread was a perfect start, followed by a delicious steak paired with their house CabSav. I was so full that I forgot about the crème brûlée dessert I ordered and just left! Prices were surprisingly cheap, and the overall experience was fantastic. Left with a satisfied belly to play the pokies. Highly recommend!

Food good 1 day but not the next

First time I came here, food was fast and very nice. So much so, I returned with more family members. Meals very slow. When eating my roast meat, I felt something extremely sharp . In a triangle shape. Took it to service counter. She went to the kitchen. When returning She seemed surprised I was still there. I asked what it was, "oh its just a shell". None of us ordered seafood and I told her it nearly cut my tongue. She just stared at me. I did not get a apology, offer of anything complimentary or a fresh meal. So I asked for my money back. Even withheld my dessert. One place me and my family will not return to.

I've frequented this establishment numerous times, and their service has never faltered - always friendly and efficient. A reliable choice for a satisfying meal.

Came here with some family for a feed! Bar-pokies-gaming area very nice, spacious.. Food was fantastic, had an array of meals and desserts, very good prices and didn’t expect a “ pub “ to have such great food! Props to the chef’s! 10/10 for me, would definitely come again & recommend to others! 😀

Came here to dine with friends. I ordered a parma. I stated I wanted a plain parma with gravy on top accompanied by chips, nothing else; no tomato sauce, cheese, ham or any of that - basically a schnitzel but they didn't have it on the menu. The staff member seemed to be teaching a new person how to work the till while punching in my order. I noticed the opportunity for miscommunication and mistake so I asked the staff member to kindly relay my order back to me. Of course it was completely incorrect when they repeated it back to me. I retold him my somewhat-specific-but-entirely-simple-order, all the while, he offered no eye contact, while chuntering to the new staff member on the till. He nodded and acknowledged a correct understanding of my order looking somewhat disgruntled. Twenty minutes later I was presented with A parma, tomato sauce, ham, mozzarella and salad on top with chips - No gravy. Entirely not what I had twice ordered. I asked for an explanation for the twice mistaken, but clearly stated order, the Indian lady was totally unapologetic and asked 'What I wanted her to do?'. "Can you please sort this out? -This is really bad service." I opined. She proceeded to take my plate into the kitchen, scrape the contents into the bin and return my money without an apology. I was stunned. All she needed to do was remove the unwanted and twice un asked for ingredients and give me a serving of gravy. But alas! I was left standing cash in hand, hungry in belly with a table full of mates tucking into their meals looking up at me. A woeful experience with utterly pitiful service in a bistro that is totally overstaffed and under trained with workers that display appalling English communication skills. A true joke.

Bloody Tasty Braised Lamb shank, mash and baked vegies. I could not eat the Chicken Bolognase Parma Gianna, chips and salad. I could only eat half. These parmas are from Ostriches. Overall, 5 out of 5. Great staff, Great Ambiance, Mild Music, Not Noisy. Definitely comi g here once a week. The menu variety is huge. Pasta, lamb, rice, beef, seafood, fish et., etc. Spoilt for choice.

Better than fast food, but not memorable in any way, salmon only very slightly overdone, but still enjoyable, and excellent sized prawns in a nice garlic sauce. Their salad doesn't use iceberg lettuce though, so be aware of that if like I, you dislike the tendency towards the texturally bankrupt leaf "lettuce" a trend I've heard many voice displeasure at. My partner enjoyed the chips enough to steal them from my plate.

Arrived early and was able to order lunch at 11.30. Seniors 2 course meal $18. Excellent food choices. Very friendly staff, efficient and clean surroundings. Both our meals were delicious and plentiful ,more like a general main. Salmon was outstanding. Def will return.
