What top nosh! We came across the road to the Colliery Inn while our car charged at the NRMA charging station across the road. Very clean pub, and the food is some of the best pub nosh we’ve had in a long time. Excellent experience. It’s given us another good stop between Sydney and the North Coast.

We did an online delivery order for Black Onyx Rump Steak, Panko Crumbed Chicken Schnitzel and a Garlic Bread.
The food was delivered hot, cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. I would highly recommend and wouldn't hesitate ordering from this establishment again when I'm in the area

THIS PLACE IS HEAVILY INFECTED WITH COCKROACHES!!! STAY AWAY||||had the absolute worst experience at this hotel yesterday||||when i checked into the hotel and came back from my (very poorly maintained) shower, there was a cockroach walking on the floor, as i was tired from my day and it was already around 9pm, i didnt really mind and went down to the pub to let the owner know, he didnt seem suprised at all and gave me a as good as empty can of bug spray, this was already a huge red flag but i didnt think much of it, killed the cockroach and threw it out (myself, owner didnt bother), and then went to sleep.||Fast forward to about 3am, i wake up because i had to go to the toilet, i turned on the light and there where about 8(!) cockroaches walking all across the floor of the room, i went down to the pub but there was no one there, also no emergency number or anything.||i tried to find some people to ask if anyone had the same problem, could only find junkies on the balcony/the hallway, did not feel safe and left the hotel (at 4am) had to get a cab to another way more expensive hotel because of this, owner wont respond to my issues so im doing it like this. (booked for 3 nights)||||once again||||DO NOT GO HERE IF U VALUE YOUR HEALTH/WELLBEING!!!||||attatched some pictures of said roaches, see for yourself.||||totally unacceptable, never had this bad of a experience in accomodation ever.

This hotel got a 2 instead of 1 as the sheets were very clean. The only positive point I can offer from my recent stay.
I believe the rooms , are overpriced for what is on offer. No clothes storage , space for your bag. No fridge or aircon... usually a pub basic is about 50-60$ I paid $90 I think . No parking either.
Sorry to be blunt, but the shared bathrooms is filthy . In need of a deep clean and a coat of paint. As usual the website photos look half decent. Not so on this visit.

Service was great. Caesar salad was delicious. However, we had 2 steaks. My mate ordered rare and I ordered medium. Both came out well done and chewy. For $38 i would expect a little more

Road tripping from Brisbane, we stayed at the Ibis Hotel overnight not far from The Colliery. 13 min walk away was one of the best pub meals we’ve had in a long time. Seeking the Chinese Restaurant up the road had us walk in here instead, we decided on pub grub. After randomly walking in, spotted was Guinness on tap and we were sold. One of the best pub meals we’ve had. Well done. Staff were great, friendly and has that laid back local regular feel. Highly recommend for a feed and a beer.

Recently had a function there. Dylan and Dave couldn’t do enough to make our night memorable. They also support local live music. Would highly recommend you check out this great suburban pub.

Not even a chair in the room toilets and showers run down to the ground , could not even close the toilet door for privacy , tired to adjust the window blinds ,it just fell down to the floor

My friends and I were up visiting. We ordered food at 7 pm. After waiting 90 minutes and asking about the delay, we were told there should be a 40-minute wait on food after ordering. That would have been fine if it was true. We slowly received food one by one over another 20 minutes.
The food was decent.
The drinks were decent.
Incredibly disappointing.

Lovely staff. No reservation, but that wasn't an issue. Menu varied and prices reasonable. It was very busy when we sat down bit staff were quick to welcome us and provide menus. We had garlic bread, chicken schnitzel and salt & pepper squid. All well presented and portions were great. Would recommend amd return again.

I really enjoyed my stay at the colliery the service is outstanding friendly Australasian style with great atmosphere. The rooms where basic & the kitchen rather communal. I would stay there semi permanent if I could. I would rather a room with more places to put clothes but it was neat & tidy. The bathrooms need a renovation but it’s good place. I liked it the showers where huge. I like that I could get my coopers pint. I won the meat tray & thought it was fun weekend there. Great staff & the woman in the kitchen has a great smile & she’s very happy individual the outdoor area is nice. It’s a great little public house. Thanks for letting us stay.

Great pub lunch. They know how to cook a steak. I ordered medium rare and actually got medium rare, and for rump, it was nice and tender.

Great old school, no frills pub stay. Shared bathroom very clean if a bit tired in the paintwork. (Never seen an over-painted tile job survive bathroom water and steam.) Was looking forward to a soak in the bath but unfortunately no plug. Overall good Value for money..

Food was nice, your standard pub menu, however drink prices were extremely high and this stopped us from having more than one and from revisiting

Excellent lunch specials for $16, last checked by me 22/02/24.
I've eaten there a number of times and have always been happy with the quality and the portion sizes.
Reasonable beer prices to!

Do not expect to sleep if ya stay here,
Sinks backed up, toilets leak,
Food is the worst, windows are painted shut.
Don't touch the blinds they fall down and it takes half the night to get them back on.
Don't even bother trying to use the disabled or child changing area, a gotta push past a family eating dinner, the upside ... we got out of there without bed bugs ... maybe

Disgusting. Disgusting toilets shared facilities. Above a dirty noisy pub, We walked in and walked straight out and booked another hotel. AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID. No aircon no private room, no nothing. Disgusting Disgusting Disgusting

Crumbed cutlets were an excellent choice and well presented on the plate. The cutlets were tasty and the vegetables crisp. All the meals served were enjoyed.

Been going here for many years. Great food.
Good prices for food and drinks. Great staff.
Just one week ago my husband and I went back for lunch.
My husband had the lunch special rump it was small but he said it was cooked perfectly.
If you want to have a snitzel this is definitely the place to go. I had the lunch special snitzel it was HUGE. For $16 you get their mega snitzel with chips and salad.
OMG it covered the plate. It was cooked perfectly. Nice golden crumbs juicy chicken inside.

All my Mum wanted was to go out on a Sunday for a traditional Sunday roast, and one of the best rated was the Colliery Inn. We traveled all the way from Stroud and the staff were so wonderful in dealing with Mum's mobility issues. The pub is beautiful and the roast was absolutely brilliant. It was a wonderful Sunday for our family. It is just a pity we had to travel so far when the same owners own the Stroud pub, but do not offer a Sunday roast

5 star hospitality here from a warm and friendly greeting upon arrival to superb coffee at the end and all steps in between.
We had a lovely roast pork, beautifully presented and a generous serve. The perfectly cooked fresh vegetables showed the skill, flair and generosity in the kitchen.
It was a cold day but there was a warmth in the dining room and not just from the heating.
The happy staff made a point of everyone feeling welcome.
Highly rated and much appreciated.
