Went for a meal after movie at Boolaroo, inexpensive fresh food, lovely quiet venue to eat and hear conversation. Salad accompanying had multiple ingredients refreshing surprise

We don't really want to rate this, because we don't want the whole world flooding into our pub, but then again, we don't want to disadvantage Dee and the crew either ... So. We eat there. The beer is cold and cheap. The music, vibe and locals are all friendly to our ears and psyche. Even the pokies are friendly. Sometimes. Point blank, if you're an adult looking for a place of your own, this is well worth checking out. Cheers.

This traditional boozer is a perfect time capsule to the past.
The food was plentiful, tasty and reasonably priced pub grub. Not fancy, but exactly what you expect from a country pub. .
The interiors are a stunning window into the past - the pressed tin celings in the dining room are particularly impressive.
The only downside was the limited wine list. While there were several (still serviceable) cheaper bottles available, there were not really any options in more mid range wines.

The lunches were good value, it's awesome to see a pub that still has meals under $20 and $10 entrees. So thankyou for that, id definitely eat there again. I got the cheeseburger and it was great and so where the chips and it was only $15. It's got a good relaxed feel and the staff and other patrons were friendly. My only suggestion is to replace the old pub carpet because it smells really bad of old cigarettes and it would change the feel of the pub from run down to fresh.

Simple meals but quite enjoyable
We sat in an outside area that was pleasant..We were a table of eight and te service was friendly and efficient.

Returning from a train trip to Sydney called in here for dinner...a busy hotel so we sat outside which was a great family area...ordered our meal from great selection available.. it arrived fresh and delicious ...staff great help 👍 friendly and efficient

Old pub charm. With amazing all rounder staff (Kara was phenomenal!!) Great customer service!!
They know how to cook a steak too!! Best pub feed In the area!! Awesome daily lunch specials! Definitely be back!

Nice food. Friendly staff. Dog friendly which is a massive plus for me. They even had a dog bowl at the bar.

I had the best chicken in pyjamas ever lol truly was the best chicken snitty I have ever eaten .large thick portion and super tender .Us girlies will definitely be back .oh and the beer was chilled .thanks to all the staff .it was a very friendly visit 🍻😋

We've always enjoyed generous portions of beautiful food, and great value for money. Have always enjoyed chatting with the friendly staff, and if you're interested in local history, you'll really enjoy the photo collection in the dining room, and the old-school charm.💖💜 The latest dining furniture is not really in keeping with the historic features - I hope that's only temporary while the old ones get restored?
The outdoor dining area is very nice when the weather is mild😁...

Great meal, good prices, very tasty meals and friendly service. Staff lovely, interacting with customers. Lovely older style pub and friendly customers. Will definitely go again. Loved the meal and looking at others meals , they looked just as good.

Great little pub! We live in the Weemala estate and this awesome little pub is our go to for a good old fashioned pub meal. The mushroom sauce and chicken schnitzels are amazing!! Plus the pub is dog friendly so my other half often walks the dog down, has a beer then goes home. Friendly staff and great food - what more could you want!!

Great beer excellent well priced meals very friendly staff highly recommend this Pub we will return. And have returned many times rate this venue as one of the best Pub meals in the Newcastle area.

Friendly atmosphere hosts are delightful bar staff friendly and helpful and the food is absolutely awesome at really reasonable prices. The steak was exactly as I ordered it and the ten dollar special was more than a meal for my man.
The refurbished room was fresh and clean and the bed was really comfy.
Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Food is always AMAZING! Jo certainly knows her way around the kitchen. She has perfected every thing on the menu. It's all delicious. But do yourself a favourite and try a Snitty, they're the best around!

Fantastic old fashioned hotel - I hope they don’t change it. So charming. Lovely food for $15- 20 dollars. The chicken schnitzels and garlic prawns are the best. Good wine, not expensive. Lovely and clean.

Called in today for a random lunch after shopping, daughter had vegetarian pasta and I had chicken snitty with creamy garlic sauce and chips and salad great meal and one of the best around town I think.
Daughter said the pasta was delicious also and both under $20 won't find that price in many pubs these days and the feel of the pub was really friendly.
Highly recommended.

Been going there for lunch and dinner for around 10 years. Not every day though. Food is very competitively priced and tastes pretty good. The staff are always friendly and nothing is a bother. They do takeaways too.

A great pub full of character and good, cheap food. Dogs welcomed in the beer garden.
Lots of street parking but no carpark.
