Wonderful settings for family meals. Meals were delicious. Front bar and gaming nice area to enjoy a quiet bet and play on pokies. Staff friendly and accommodating.

What a wonderful evening at Chris' 70th Birthday. The balcony room was just beautiful & the food was terrific. Having all facilities at hand including the bar & salad bar was perfect. We had our own bar staff who was so helpful & friendly.

We went there for a meal. The staff we great, our meal was very good but the salad a veggie bar was disappointing. The salads were soaked in dressing and the veggies were over done and shriveled up.

Went for lunch, food was super quick and very tasty. Decently priced too. Staff were nice. Coffee was a bit too hot so tasted a bit burned but not bad.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch here. Salad bar is a great idea. Plenty to choose from and put on a side plate to our main meal. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Great service. Highly recommended.

Tried calling for accomodation and was asked where I was from. We came from Melbourne but when I said we where in MT Gambier, the guy on the phone told us “They don’t do locals and hung up on us” great customer service mate 👍

Staff were friendly but the food was awful. We ordered a Burger and an Ale pie, both meals were inedible. We only ate a couple of bites (I'm still surprised I took a second bite, I must have been really hungry).
I won't be returning.

Roast lamb lunch special $16 with waitress served vegie bar. Delicious meal and so much we had to ask for a doggie bag each. Very friendly and obliging staff. Highly recommended.

Reasonable pub meal in recently revamped dining area at back of pub. Salad bar was not self service due to covid but friendly staff would serve you what ever you wanted. Food was not bad value and fresh, so although not outstanding it was good bang for the buck.

Our meals came out quickly, they were both delicious, salad bar great. Great staff. 👌👍🥂

Meals were very nice ..quite surprised how quick it was served up and not overly priced ..it took us longer to get there than what it took to order and cook plus eat our meals ..i do recommend here plus its a great place to take your kids too..we had salt pepper squid ..chicken cashews stirfry ..i forgot to mention we saw this place on south aussie with cosi ..but he featured a seafood platter which was what we wanted .. apparently the commercial has not done this dish in a long time ...sad !!

Just walking by decided to have lunch. We both had seniors roast lamb. Beautifully cooked, very tender. Good serve. Also could have salad, hot veg from the buffet. Staff lovely. Would highly recommend.

Just came here for a meal with my partner and child and had the Brisket Burger with Blue Cheese Sauce. Was sensational. We were seated as walk ins even amidst the Covid restrictions and our young bartender Declan gave us exceptional service.
Would definitely recommend.

I have eaten here multiple times and it always seems to be a 50/50 split on quality. When it's good, it's decent. Not my first pick for a pub feed if that's anything to go by.

Had a meal here tonight. It was a busy service and I could not be more impressed by the efforts of the bar and kitchen staff. Highly recommend The Commersh for a good meal and a job well done

Great pub, great meals an service,, but Live bands go off here, The Southern Undertows were lighting the place up,, come down, have a taste meal an a cold beer with awesome entertainment,, luvit

Great Hotel good meals fine service
Excellent music on a Friday night great people Everyone gets on well.some Saturday night's there is good music too. Sunday afternoon front bar great jam sesh....So when in town pop in for a meal a cold drink or even a cupper.

Good value specials. Had a great roast here with a big serving of Dijon mustard. Ambience is nothing fancy as the pub is an old fashion Aussie pub.

Food and service was amazing! Massive portions, mains included the ultimate salad buffet ... I had to be rolled to the car 😁

Commercial hotel Mt Gambier -- We had the seafood basket and beef schnitzel. The seafood had no tartare, no aioli, nothing. For $28 extremely sub standard. I asked for a lemon wedge only to be told their delivery had not arrived yet. At 1pm? If you cared at all about your business you would have everything on hand each morning. This tells me they really don't care. The schnitzel was large but thin and rubbery. No one asked how our meals were. All up we left with the impression they just don't care. Will definitely return - to the South Eastern Hotel.

Cheers to Matt in the sports bar!! An absolute legend, such an awesome bartender! Always keeps moving, if it’s pouring or cleaning or even just a playing around keep customers happy. Can’t recommend a better guy!

Always visit this place when I am in town.
Love the renovations, and the new chef is amazing. The food is lovely, matched only by the very friendly staff and owners.

After a stuff up with our accommodation in Mount Gambier (3 rooms booked for 2 nights months ago didn’t exist 😡) the Commercial Hotel came to my rescue 😊 going out of their way to help us out
The staff members were super friendly (even though they were run off their feet with the Christmas Pageant) Rooms were awesome
Thanks to you all will definitely recommend to other people

Absolutely awful meals-a half serve parmy for $20 was as tough as leather, and the chips were bland and tasteless. The fish special had batter that was white, doughy and not cooked through.Salad plates were not clean and still had bits of old food on them !will not be eating here again!
