What do you do when you order medium rare and get rare to blue? You can't send it back as we all know what happens.... Other meal good. Service good.

Very nice place to celebrate Valentine Day. Close to home and reasonably priced for very delicious food. The two piece band playing in the background was lovely. Could have been in a posh restaurant in the city.

This hidden gem had a relaxing vibe with tasty food. The staff were helpful without being intrusive. Options available for dietary needs. Will happily visit again soon.

The most saddest steak I've ever had! 7 pieces of chips and the smallest steak! What a joke! Didn't even include our sauce that we paid for.

The interior is newly renovated; it’s modern and spacious with shiny timber floors, low mood lighting and plain white washed walls. There are plenty of seating options, both indoors and out, including in the beer garden downstairs, as you enter off the car park. But no matter where you sit, you’ll find a cool, relaxed and casual vibe, in a stylish and modern setting. The night we dined, being the night before the Australia Day holiday, the place had a decent turnout, with both inside and outside fairly full. We chose to sit in the Pavilion dining area which had only a smattering of other diners, but we were super comfy there, with good acoustics, sturdy wicker chairs and a table that was large enough to fit all the drinks and the dishes. The Pavilion has been very tastefully decorated with plants hanging from the ceiling, and exposed wooden beams giving it a trendy and chic look and feel. Four of us dined. For main meals, my wife and I ordered the Tuesday night specials: the steak and beer at a reasonable 25 pesos. Our friends chose a medley of other dishes including calamari, cauliflower salad and pumpkin salad plus a side of chips at 7 pesos and a glass of sparkling white wine at a hefty 12 pesos. We were impressed with the food and full marks to the chefs, because everything was nicely prepared and presented to the table on smart white crockery. My steak was well done, just the way I like it and served with crispy potatoes and crunchy asparagus. The calamari was soft and chewy, while the salad dishes were fresh and tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was helpful, friendly and polite, but I was a bit disappointed at the length of time it took, from ordering, until the meals arrived at the table, which was approx 25 mins. I suspect the problem is that there are multiple dining spaces spread out over a large area, which requires staff to be running up and down including to the beer garden downstairs. But the manager especially deserves a pat on the back for all his hard work, especially as the venue was busy and he had a fair bit of ground to cover to keep all the customers happy. Despite being under pressure, he was patient and attentive. There are two lots of toilets. The male one just behind the bar counter had only one cubicle, which given the size of the venue, would seem a bit inadequate especially when the place is full. The other one, in another part of the venue, had two cubicles. The venue has its own car park, which it shares with the popular First Choice liquor store. Overall, we had a pleasant night here. The food was excellent, there are clean and well stocked toilets and plenty of free parking right outside. Staff are pleasant and friendly. On the negative side, service was a tad slow and we were disappointed that the A.V.C. vouchers, which we used to make our payment, did not qualify for rewards. Despite that, it merits a return visit.

The Crown Hotel is an under-rated pub in the heart of Lutwyche. The decor and atmosphere is wonderful and very unexpected, especially if you visited in the late 80's early 90's. The refurb is spectacular and the menu is amazing. I went with a large group and every single person commented on how fantastic the food was - huge shout out to the chef and kitchen staff! All other staff that my group dealt with were very friendly and welcoming and the pricing was very reasonable. All in all I would definitely recommend and will be back again in the near future. As an added bonus there is a reasonable amount of parking on site or it is just a short stroll from the bus.

The Crown Hotel in Lutwyche is a delightful discovery for anyone looking to enjoy a great meal and a refreshing pint in a friendly atmosphere. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles and an inviting ambiance that makes you feel right at home. The pub boasts a diverse menu that caters to all tastes, with each dish prepared to perfection and bursting with flavor. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty bistro classic or something more contemporary, the Crown Hotel delivers with quality and finesse. What truly sets the Crown Hotel apart, however, is its exceptional service. The staff are not just attentive but genuinely friendly, making sure every guest's experience is enjoyable and memorable. The pub's cozy vibe, combined with its excellent selection of drinks and live entertainment options, makes it the perfect spot for a casual night out with friends or a special celebration. The Crown Hotel in Lutwyche isn't just a pub; it's a community hub where good food, great drinks, and genuine hospitality come together to create a truly outstanding experience. It's a place you'll find yourself returning to time and again.

Really lovely decor and good quality tasty food. Great range of drinks and beers too. Great Jazz on a Sunday afternoon was the reason for our first even visit. We will be back! ....Multiple visits later..food and music still as good!

Ordered two medium rumps. One was more the well done (dry), and the other was rare. Salad not fresh(lettuce wilted and had black edges). Orange in cocktail looked a week old.. won't be back or recommend.

Not a bad venue. Not crowded. Plenty of space. Don't like table ordering via apps. I'm old school. Service a bit slow considering venue about 20%full. Otherwise you'll enjoy yourself.

Nice fit out and staff were helpful, but food menu disappointing. New menu tries to be fancy, but pics on the menu and food description were way different than what we got. Lamb ragu was watery lamb with pasta, not rich like a ragu should be. Gnocchi at $32 was in bland pumpkin puree, no parmesan or pangrattato . Just seems like they're trying to be way fancier than they can actually produce...

Mid week lunch - first time! Highly recommend, I think the hardest decision was where it sit, lots of nice places/areas/sections. I love the QRcode ordering - easy and straightforward, only downside was the alcohol drinks did not come out without one of us heading up to the bar to follow up (minor issue). Food was good 'pub grub', happy if this was my local!

Initially hesitant after the refurb and earlier reviews, I was plenty surprised at the new surroundings, very clean, staff were friendly. Parmi and chips was fantastic with seasoning. Minus one star as delivery was slow despite it being quiet and it was served on a flat plate which made it tricky to keep together.

Haven't been to the crown since moving from Brisbane to Mackay 4 years ago, it used to be our weekly haunt. Wow the Reno's are amazing, food was superb as was the staff, particularly Trinity. She was just lovely and is a credit to the Crown and hospitality in general. Thank you for a wonderful experience

Had great experiences in the past here but come Easter Day for the $25 Roast Lamb with all trimmings and told they had sold out when about to order was especially disappointing when I specifically booked a table for 3 online so not to miss out. The 3 of us were tempted to leave and go somewhere else but looked on the menu and finally deciding an alternatives it was hard when you knew what you were originally having. But then having to wait a fair bit for our order to come to the table was also disappointing as the place was not overly busy but service seemed slow.

Forgot to take photos of the food this time as it looked too good so I dug straight in! I ordered the ‘chicken supreme’ for lunch, and will definitely be ordering again next time I visit this hotel. The pumpkin purée was absolutely divine & the chicken was cooked perfectly. All other meals looked amazing & the rest of my family was also very happy with their meals. Plenty of parking available on site. Great service. Amazing atmosphere, beautiful beer garden downstairs & a talented jazz band was playing when we visited on Sunday afternoon. The decor is also beautiful, also love the bring the outdoors ‘in’ with all of the plants & greenery inside the restaurant! 🪴 Perfect place for a Sunday afternoon session! Love the vibe here. Have been happy with all 3 visits I’ve made here over the last 10 months, will be back soon! 💛

Fantastic renovation (our new local) , great food and drinks. Beer garden is dog friendly - gets busy on the weekends (it pays to book ahead). Live music on sat/friday was very good.

Excellent buffet breakfast. Really relaxed atmosphere with many families. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly. They had enough variety for vegetarians to get a whole lot of food and be absolutely stuffed by the end. Pastries were so good and the fruit so fresh and flavoursome. We will be back. Definitely got value for.money. Thank you!😃

Edit: I have reduced my rating to one star! Simply due to the complete lack of a response to my two emails (which they requested!!) The Mister and I grabbed a friend, and took her to dinner at this newly-refurbed (140 year old) hotel. We’d never been here before so it was a new experience for us all. Considering it was Monday night, there were quite a few families out and about, which was great to see. We sat out in the open courtyard, which was lovely with the old bricks showing on the walls. We ordered via our phones – so quick and easy. I chose fish of the day, the friend had chicken schnitzel and the Mister had ricotta gnocchi. He said his gnocchi with mushrooms was ‘adequate’, sadly nothing special. And really sad to say, I chose the worst dish of the night (and it looked ugly). Fish of the day was tuna, which was surprising to me. For some reason, I expected barra or snapper or salmon, etc. My bad, but it was so overcooked that I left most of it on the plate. There was no sauce or relish with it, so it was dry and tasteless. The mussel ‘cream’ was a few tiny, wrinkled mussels – that’s it! No cream or sauce. And it came with a few scrawny, overdone broad beans. I swear they were old geezers, left to die in the freezer. The polenta side was a sad, tasteless lump. I had thought it was dried out potato till the waiter said in passing this was a new side with the fish. I ended up helping to eat the Friend’s chicken as it was huge and delicious. Great fried coating, moist chicken and very tasty. I will give them another chance, as I really want to try the steak but on this particular occasion, I was left hungry and sad. Not so sure about this new seasonal menu, but perhaps I caught them on a bad night. Anyway, the atmosphere was good, staff were okay, and I’d like to try again, as the steak at another table smelt great.

Dropped I'm for a beer after work on a Wednesday at 4 pm . Quiet clean . Very nice looking place but pricey on beer $10 for a beer but they have to.make.money. Would consider coming back to try food as it looks very decent and would pull a good crowd.

Been there before was excellent. Don't know what it was but Tuesday night was noisy the food was appalling. The staff were sensational. It won't discourage me too much but guys please do something about your menu.

Alex was the best!! He had such great attention to detail making him an absolute asset to your team. He noticed one of the meals was hardly eaten and offered lots of options for compensation. He made our dining experience great

A huge premise, with different ambiences throughout. Big enough for celebrations and with cosy corners too, as well as a Pokie and pretty outside terrace. Clean, friendly, characterful and very Australian.

A great night out for a family of 4. Good selection of food, drinks and meal options - and the online ordering and rewards system was ideal. Special mention to Sophie for making sure we all had a good night, our food was timed to suit and our many additions and special requests were catered to. Highly recommend for a couples night out, or a treat for the family.

After attending several catered events at different venues over Brisbane in the past few weeks none catered for Gluten free or Vegetarian guests and stated if not stated when booking catering it cant be done... At The Crown Lutwyche on Sunday & when I waved off multiple trays of food a lady asked & said I can't eat gluten & the lady next to me said im vegetarian, this pic is a plate they brought out just for me with gluten free items and the next tray of food they brought around was fully vegetarian as there were multiple vegetarians. Thank you so much for making me not feel so out of sorts & weird due to my food allergies. Very much appreciate the personal treatment & had to take the time to leave a review to let you know most don't make that effort at all... Thanks again!
