We had a drink and a meal. Great range of beers. However, when we came to order, foundout that the menu we had chosen from, was out of date.

We came in our chicken schnitty for of Canberra but what pub doesn't have it. We had to sub a pork schnitzel. Fabulous crumb, really good coleslaw and great fruits. Really good meal

Was lucky enough to turn up to their beer competition with 12 different brewers competing. They all made it a fun afternoon vying for votes and talking all things beer. The taphouse increased the fun with a two piece band playing covers with their own interpretations. finished the evening with great food - my Fish chips and slaw was delicious

Very good pasta. Small pasta sizes were excellent and big enough for us oldies. Beef burger today was very good. Wide range of beers on tap. Great service. Very pleasant in spite of hot day outside.

Used to really love coming here for the cheap pasta Mondays, however, quality of the food seems to have gone downhill since the introduction of QR code ordering and the pastas were very meh. Not the cooked to perfection, bursting with flavour dishes they used to be. Also, have some printed menus on hand - only accepting QR orders is cheap and tacky and takes some of the class out of the place.

Under new ownership (same guy that owns the OCI) and its starting to show green shoots. Nice furniture layout and a good choice of beers that are hard to get elsewhere. The food is OK but not great. Prices are middle market. I’m happy to come back though as I think it will improve.

This place is my new fav local.
18 beer taps all pouring delicious craft beer, I believe six are kept pouring standard Canberra classics such as Crankshaft and Trail Ale but then the other 12 are constantly rotating, that means if you see a beer getting tapped get in there and get some because as soon as the keg is out they will replace it with a new beer.
The food menu is amazing as well, well as long as you love delicious Italian food (this guy does).
All as well run by the best from the Old Canberra Inn, so you know you are going to get good service, This is what the Duxton should have been and exactly what Canberra has been crying out for.

They have excellent customer service. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Food was so tasty. We ordered 6 different dishes and all of the dishes were so yummy. Would definitely go there when we in the area next

The Taphouse is a fantastic venue for a function. The food was delicious and plentiful, the range of interesting beers was terrific, and the Taphouse team made organising the party so easy, relaxed and fun. The lounge room was a great venue - very cosy and separate from the main room. The team were really easy going and flexible in accommodating what I wanted. All for a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend the Taphouse for your next function!

The Taphouse has a great atmosphere and great service. The food choices are wide and taste great. I really enjoyed my first time there. The only downside is the food options are a bit expensive.

The restaurant had great choices for food and the atmosphere was great inside and outside. The wait staff were absolutely brilliant and very helpful to accomodate my daughters special request.
Bar staff needed a bit more personality but was a great place apart from that

The pork was cooked perfectly.
The crumb was house made and good.
The tomato paste was okay.
The two cheeses were good but the only other thing was the crumb wasn’t covered so the edges got really crispy when melting the cheese.
The French fries were hot but don’t hold the heat so you have to eat them first.
The coleslaw was not good. The lack of dressing made it plain and a little too much onion well not to my liking.
Three out of five plates cleaned.

The pasta here is amazing, the appetizers are delicious and the beers are always changing. Great place to grab a meal and a flight of beers and kick back.

The most recent incarnation of this corner pub in Braddon is a good place for a beer in this area - they have large capacity and a range of beers, and sometimes run beer-specific events like tap takeovers.

The chicken wings here are super weird. They taste like a cross between stir fry and fried chicken. The service staff also could never find our table so we kept having to chase down them down for our drinks. Overall it was a bit meh.

THE BEST STEAK I HAVE EVER HAD... And I don't say this lightly... I have steaks weekly and nothing compares to this steak. From the sides of roast potatoes to the green beans... Everything was perfection. Topped off with the best mushroom sauce I have ever had.. Compliments to the chef 👌😍

Steak was good but pork schnitzel was quite oily, better to have with extra sauce. I would suggest to have tomato sauce. I love the vibe here, staffs are friendly!

Relaxed, good service, great food and drinks- I am not normally a burger person but enjoyed the best chicken burger ever last week, 4 of us enjoyed the meat platter last Sunday , took us back to our visit to USA, kids had great meals & if they ate it all got a scoop of ice cream free, they were over the moon, great service & friendly. Reasonably price. Well done we will be back 👍

Newly opened into the Covid world the Dickson Tap house has a great vibe and friendly staff. It is definitely good to have a local pub opened again in Dickson. Drink prices were at the top of the price range for me but that seems fair in the current world situation. I am only giving 4 stars so I have room to bump it up after I try something off the mouth watering menu. Cheers.

My second time to Canberra and found this gem of a pub. Friendly staff, great music and great ambience. Great range of beers. Why only 2 stars? I had just bought a new phone, from iphone to an android, and for some reason the camera wouldn't scan the QR code on their tables, which you need to order food. I explained this to a staff member but they simply don't have any other way to order, so I was outright refused food. This is just lazy and poor service and against the RSA /Liquor Act. I will return on my next visit, but regardless I will eat elsewhere before I arrive.

My friend ordered Gluten Free Pasta. It was served undercooked..She sent it back.
The Manager served her the replacement meal, stood next to her and said this has happened with you before, then berated her for not letting the staff know their Product, on their Menu, needed extra cooking time. I told her the product shouldn't be on the Menu if the staff didn't know how to cook it and it was their responsibility to know how to cook a Menu item,not the customers. My embarrassed friend, asked the person she believed to be the owner, if she could speak to him, as he was watching the incident from a nearby table. He was on rec time, but denied he was the owner. Then I asked him if he was the owner. He said yes. I asked if I could speak to him. He said another time. We haven't been back.

Loved the look of this place.
Great variety of beers.
Great variety of spirits as well.
We ordered snacks and mains we loved the snacks but out of the 4 of us only 1 of us enjoyed our main which was the pork belly burger. The dumplings were like rubber and the nachos not tasty at all.

I've been going here for years, and the staff are super friendly and it's a chill vibe, which makes it easy to catch up with friends. The food is fantastic! I do miss a few menu items that were dropped after the rebrand though.

It's a nice pub, nice ambience, great selection of craft beers, but be aware not all beers are on special during the happy hour. The beers on tap change frequently, and there are always good options. Menu is now specifying what's vegetarian and what can be made vegan, but they could improve it, make an effort to have some vegan options on the specials. Also, be aware that the chips come by default with cheese, which is not a good idea if you can't have dairy. The vegetarian pastas can be made vegan, and they are quite good. Staff is usually very friendly (somedays they aren't in a good mood) and service is good.

I had a wonderful first experience at the Dickson Taphouse! The vibe was mellow for how busy the place was on a Friday night.
The attentive staff took care of our food and beverages in a flash and ensured our table was kept clean. It was a bit hard to hear when the band went on but they were making some awesome blues music so we'll take it!

Half price pastas are back on Mondays and we had a great time. Even our little nephews had a great time.
The only downside, the service took too long. The boys were getting cranky cuz they were really hungry. The food almost took 45-50 mins to get to our table. But it was good food!

Had the pasta carbonara and spag bog. It was so yummy, and large serves for a good price. So many beers to choose from, it will take a while to try them all.
It has a great vibe, really friendly staff, and lots of comfy sofas to chill on.

Had a pretty amazing experience for my first time since it changed from the Ducks Nuts.
Had a delicious beer from Capital Brewery.
The food was absolutely amazing!
Had the Meatballs (Pork, Beef and Fennel). The flavours coming off every element was fantastic and mouth watering.
The Garlic Bread was nice, generously covered, unlike some places where the bread is dry and plain where they only put a little bit in the centre and one side.
Staff are very casual and great.
Couldn't fulture on my first time run.
I look forward to come again with some friends, have a beer and some delicious Italian food.

Great music, TOP TIP bring your own drinks . Stood at a pretty empty bar last night for 6 minutes only to be consistently ignored -not served - with males arriving right next to me being served straight away. ( never felt more invisible )

Good bar with a nice selection of craft beer and cocktails. Staff were friendly and largely attentive though they did forget our cocktails and I had to remind them once or twice.
Beer selection was great and you could ask for a few tiny tastes before purchase . Cocktails were hit and miss as some were delicious but others were rather average.

For the first time we had our Lunch at the Taphouse at Dickson
We were greeted by the owner, and happily serving us.
They have a nice menu to order from. Really enjoyed our Lunch and a glass of beer. A wonderful atmosphere in Taphouse.
There is a Beer Garden also. I be back again for some more.

Excellent choice of fresh well-kept beers from independent Aussie breweries. Knowledgeable bar staff can help you find a beer to your tastes and are happy to let you sample first. Top quality food, especially the house made pasta. A friendly atmosphere with separate lounge, bar and dining spaces to suite the mood for your group. Live music, quiz nights. No pokies.

Editing my previous review after returning a few times. The service improved a lot. Food is good, fairly priced and they offer some nice vegan options. The aubergine pasta sauce goes great with a stout. The ambiance is cozy and divided in different areas so we can always find a quiet place if it is too noisy around the bar. The beers on tap change regularly, so it is always interesting to try something new.

Disappointing service. Happy hour was until 6pm. Ordered at 5.57pm. Barman couldn’t use the till so asked for help. Ticked over to 6pm and they told us they wouldn’t honour happy hour. Apparently computer said no. So we were charged double price for chicken wings and beers 😌

Came in with a group of six to order food and drinks. There’s no kids food options on the menu and you have to order via a QR Code so I gave my young child food I brought with me, only to be told we couldn’t have any outside food in the restaurant and we would have to leave while he ate it. Wasn’t very happy sitting on the street with my kid while the rest of our party was in the restaurant. Surely there’s exceptions to every rule? Bit disappointing and definitely would not recommend this place for families.

Baby octopus & squid salad sounded enticing so I could not resist but order it. It was delicious, but obviously not filling enough as it's only a salad. The spaghetti with meatballs is a bit expensive for the serving size received and was OK without being fantastic. I'm sure drinks here are great and most people come here for drinks 🍺🥂🍸🍷🍾, more so than the food. Regards @fooderarri

Awesome Taphouse with plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor available. A mixture of diner style booth seating, bar seating and leather lounges. 18 beer taps (6 standard and 12 rotating), all of them are independent breweries which is awesome for breweries around the country. A great range of spirits, and very nice looking food menu. Great location, definitely benefits from the corner block in the middle of Dickson.
Drinks pricing is pretty standard for craft beer venues - $10ish a schooner, but happy hours (2 hours) available Monday - Friday from 4pm - 6pm.
A tried and tested management team with staff from the Old Canberra Inn and Queenies behind the bar makes for a great experience.
Family friendly also, room for prams, firm seating for the older generation and minimal stairs (1 step into a part of the the dining area). Will definitely be my go to for the beer options alone.

Awesome selection of beers on tap and happy to let you taste first. The set up of mixed furniture, nice nooks and food works well. I will be back.

Awesome bar with a great selection of craft beers and ciders, friendly staff and comfy chairs. Didn't eat here tonight but definitely will in the future. If you're looking for a great hang out with all the trimmings, this is the place for you! Love it 🤩... Came back to have dinner... the pork parmigiana literally rocked my tastebuds and the tired old chicken parmigiana is now dead to me! If i could give 10 stars out of 5, I would! ❤

A real pub. They take the taphouse label seriously with a good selection of interesting beers on tap and commitment to sampling. Food is simple but quality. Staff always pleasant and welcoming. Spacious. Popular for workers and sizeable friend gatherings.

A nice enough pub but the service could improve. It took ages to get the food I ordered. The food was good but it took ages, I think they lost my order but sorted it out eventually

An absolutely lovely place to stop by for a few drinks. Wide range of taps with one of the best ciders around. Incredible atmosphere and friendly staff

A cosy setting and a nice place for a drink. The food menu was a fair bit north of what I'd expect for the offerings and quality however.

A bit disappointing I must say. We chose this spot for our work Christmas Party purely based on the amazing photos on the FB & their website. Unfortunately the Taphouse did not deliver. The food was very poorly executed and the quality of meat/chips and salad was low in comparison to what they charge. The only tasty thing were kimchi arancini balls. The salami platter was inedible, so thickly sliced that was unpleasant to eat. Steaks had little to no meat and fish serving was tiny. The promised garden salad was only shredded wombok cabbage.
The staff on the other hand was great and extremely attentive. Thanks to their friendliness I am giving 3 stars, as they deserve it for their hard work.

18 taps of rotating craft beer, good food, cosy vibe and fantastic service. What else can you ask for?
