We stopped for lunch before flying home to Sydney and were pleasantly surprised.
The service was excellent, the menu varied and reasonably priced and the meals huge. If you’re looking for a nice family friendly pub you won’t regret going here.

Went to Dunwoodys on Saturday night for dinner. I had the ribs, and they were happy to change the slaw out for salad for me. The meal was good but I have had better ribs elsewhere but they would be in the top 5. Others had chicken palmy, salt and Szechuan squid and salad with onion rings topper. Everyone was happy with their mean. Good service. It's pay at the counter and the waiters bring the food to the table

We like Dunwoody's however we both had the steak dinner with salad and chips. They were very nice steaks cooked to our liking, too much salad and very watery gravy, the chips were quite good not perfect.

Was a quiet night, so the food came out quick as! The steaks were cooked immaculately and the fish was fresh and tasted amazing. Service 8/10 Food 8/10
10/10 would Recommend to anyone that wants a good pub feed.
The venue also has an outdoor play area and an indoor play area for the kids !

Tough as a leather boot pork ribs and soggy onion rings. Just a expensive pub meal. My Airfryer cooks the same frozen box stuff at home and does a better job. Staff are cool and you're not distracted by the pokie room when you eat your meal

Too cool for words. Brand new and excellent all round. Food delicious. Sports screens, live bands, kids play area, bar area just fantastic. Easy parking. The lady Manager is the BEST, so helpful, like all her staff. The pics show dried Barra and meats, result in mouth watering flavours when cooked. Unique. Delicious!

This is a super cool pub, that’s spacious, well lit and airy with good acoustics, clean toilets and easy parking right outside the venue.
The whole place has been tastefully decked out in a modern style, with faux white columns, a carpeted interior, loads of greenery and honey coloured timber panels that all give it a warm, homely and welcoming ambience. You’ll be glad you decided to come here, the moment you walk through the front door. Despite it being a weeknight, there was a decent turnout of patrons. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, which gave the joint a lively, fun and energetic atmosphere. There are multiple dining and entertainment areas, both inside and outside, but wherever you choose to sit, you will be comfortable. We chose a nice spot inside with upholstered bench type seats on one side, comfy wooden chairs on the other side and a sturdy, wooden table in the middle. The only problem for us was that the music was a tad loud, which did detract from an otherwise relaxed and laid back vibe.
Ordering using the app took a bit of getting used to, but there are plenty of patient staff members to help you out if you get stuck. Once we got the hang of it, the rest was easy. We placed our order for drinks, entrees and main courses and it all came out quickly, but more importantly, in the correct order too, starting with the drinks, then the entrée, then the main courses.
We ordered a tomato caprese for an entrée and for our mains, a chicken schnitzel from the seniors menu, and a Mex salad. Presentation was nice on stylish white or blue crockery and the serving sizes were generous, but something was lacking in these meals. The starter comprised just a few slices of bocconcini cheese, a couple of cherry tomatoes and crackers. It was a rather tasteless and underwhelming dish and a pointer as to what was to follow, with both main meals also lacking in taste. We mentioned this to the friendly maître d’ and she understood what we meant, saying something about the head chef being on leave in Syd. To compensate for the especially poor tomato caprese, she offered us a free drink which we gratefully accepted.
In all, and including a schooner of my fave Byron Bay Lager, we paid a moderate 55 pesos, which is solid value for money, so thanks to the owners of this venue, the Aust Venue Company, for keeping dining affordable, especially for struggling seniors, when everything else is skyrocketing in price as we battle our worst inflation crisis ever.
Despite our disappointment with the food in this instance, the place has enough going for it to suggest that we will return when we’re back in Cairns next year.

The food is great, the seniors meals are a perfect size. The Mexican theme looks nice, the staff friendly.
Only improvement would be to say how many grilled prawns come in the topper- paid $12 for 4 prawns which I wouldn't have ordered knowing that. I paid $2 for 6 prawns at the supermarket

Suggested to me by a family friend.
Wonderful hotel in Cairns. Staff were lively on arrival and seated us quickly without having to have a booking even though they were quite busy.
The hotel has the'order and pay' option available from your table, which helps if it's a busy night and avoids having to lineup to order.
Once we had ordered, we were surprised at how quickly our food was presented at the table.
The food was great, portions sizes were more than adequate, reasonably priced, and had a vibrant atmosphere.
Venue was clean and welcoming. The balcony seating area was fantastic.
It's definitely worth a mention, and the recommendation was spot on
I will be going back, I hope sooner than later.

Son had the choice to choose where he wanted to dine for his birthday and he chose Dunwoody, loved the food. Was delicious and flavoursome. Atmosphere was lovely, customer service from both male server's were lovely. Son enjoyed his birthday dinner and so did the entire family. They even had a note for the birthday boy and birthday voucher. Highly recommend and will be back again 😊

Signature burger had no sauce Arachne was slop and all the same flavour of cardboard and cheese cake was like Kurds and way . It was takeaway but only had to walk to the Reef Palms Motel witch is a 3 min walk highly recommend not eating there

Recently visited Dunwoodys for their steak night and had a very enjoyable experience with great food. Our waiter Colin was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Would definitely recommend

Pork chops with the chilli mango was delicious I'd have it again anytime,Mrs had the fish and chips she didn't like it. Steak Sanger was tough according to Fred, Thai green curry was yum according to alf, so 2 out of 4.

My recent visit to Dunwoody’s Hotel was a standout, especially due to their exceptional Chicken Parma. This dish was not only huge but also incredibly tasty, easily the best Chicken Parma I’ve enjoyed, surpassing even those I’ve tried in Melbourne.
The service at Dunwoody’s complimented the high-quality meal, with staff members providing a friendly and efficient experience. The ambiance of the hotel is just as inviting, perfect for a meal out with friends or family.

Manager Oliver was so attentive to our group and Chance was helpful with any questions asked of him, as a birthday celebration the staff couldn’t have been more helpful, presenting cake with sparklers to our friend. Well done all, meals ok too✅

I'm always treated like a respected customer an have going to dunwoody for a few years now an it seems like I know everybody there by their first name an always treated like a family member. Safe an very inviting an respected by all staff. A very happy atmosphere and great staff always with a smile showing courtesy helpful.

Holidaying in Cairns from SA. Dinner for 3 on 3 Jan 22. Service, friendliness and efficiency was excellent. Very busy bistro for a Monday night. Family friendly with video monitored screen to glass enclosed play room for those with children. Delicious Vindaloo and butter chicken was generous and very much enjoyed. The 300gm porterhouse steak with calamari topper was outstanding! Steak cooked perfectly, med/rare and the calamari was soft and tender and to die for. Also great garlic bread. A really delicious meal at reasonable prices. Highly recommend a visit. Thank you Dunwoody's Tavern. Great food coming out of your kitchen!! 🌴💖🌴

Have been to Dunwoody's a couple of times now, most recently for their Steak Night. Great food and great service. We were served by Colin, great attitude towards people and creates a great atmosphere for customers. We will be back again soon

Great place to visit. Great food. It's right next to a busy road, but you don't have to sit outside. Staff is friendly and always smiling. I had the chicken Parmy. The portions are quite large and you won't go hungry. Highly recommended.

Great food and customer service. My first time trying aged barramundi and it was absolutely delicious, the best crispy skin I have had. The sticky dat was also very nice.

Excellent food, good value, friendly and helpful staff and relaxing venue. Wonderful place with lovely verandah area. Great for families too with the playground.

Could see the kitchen staff from the dining room handling food with bare hands, plenty of cross contamination happening not to mention wiping hands on their clothes instead of washing their hands. Management did speak to them, gloves were then put on and continued handling food with same gloves and wiping them on their clothes. Kids meals didn't show up with entrees as ordered, they were given to the wrong table twice and one kids meal wasn't even made after the third time asking where the meal was. The duty manager was the best part of our experience, took responsibility for everyone else's screw ups and did her absolute best to make up for their mistakes, she definitely deserves a raise! Atmosphere was horrible, table full of people who weren't ordering food sitting in the dining area literally screaming over the footy, made people's kids cry they were so loud and when told they were being too loud were aggressive and rude about it. Absolutely putrid behaviour for a family establishment. Best part of the night, making art out of the food as that's about all it was good for. Sorry to the management for this review but your staff really need a good kick up the bum or a career change 🤷♀️🤦♀️ 200 dollars spent for poor service and a headache.

An interesting place. It has almost a theme park feel. Not a bad place for a meal but much more a restaurant than a pub.
