You get what you paid for. The rooms are old but they are serviced daily ( linen not changed on a 2 day stay) clean and cosy. Reception staff and housekeeping staff are polite and friendly at all times. Add the close proximity to Liverpool hospital and universities , the only reason I marked this down to a 4 star was the rooms could do with a microwave and when all rooms are booked the hot water runs out very fast. Will definitely be back.

What an experience the El Toro is. I have debated whether it deserves 2 stars or 3, but I think ultimately due to the pool deception it lands on a 2. Is the El Toro nice? No! But does it have that quirky niche charm? Also no. It's a dive (but don't dive into the pool/swamp... you will break your neck). However, is it priced accordingly? Yes. We had the pleasure of staying in room 7, and my 3 criteria for a budget hotel were met. The bed was acceptable and didn't have any signs of bed bugs or crawlies (However, I would never take a black light any where near it). The shower had plenty of pressure, and hot water... plus you got a bonus water feature as it's impossible to not flood the floor. And the aircon worked a treat without making any crazy noises. My other criteria of having a window that isn't hanging in the frame by a concoction of different tapes wasn't met - fortunately know one decided to exploit that easy access to our room. And for what ever reason it just didn't really bother me. If you need a bed for 1-24 hours (for what ever variety of reasons you may need a bed for 1-24 hours) then this is probably the place for you. The pool is empty - don't let the pictures fool you.... It's been empty a long time too. Don't come here for your summer splash vacation. The check in staff were friendly, the check in area did smell like a sealed smokers lounge you see at some airports but fortunately you don't need to be in there long. Other positives were listening to the other guests above us having continuous domestics (not the hotels fault), finding hiding spot for our valuables in car (hot tip: hide it in the spare wheel well), wondering why the room smells so strongly of chemicals (was it an unaliving?, was it a multi person love fest?) - just a few of the ways to pass your time at the El Toro. Would I stay here again? No. Do I regret staying here? No. Would I recommend it? No with an * Was it a learning experience? YES! And again - Credit must go to the staff, the front desk were very friendly and I can only imagine what the cleaning staff have seen in their time there and they surely deserve a medal/hazmat suit. *If you are after a dirt cheap bed and shower, this is actually suitable - but I would still check the bed for bugs first.

Upon reading the reviews, and rocking up my first impressions where not great. The outside is very old and run down, but to my surprise the room is lovely and very comfortable. We stayed In a executive suite (room 46) which had a seperate bedroom with a double bed and twin beds in the main room. The beds where comfortable and the whole room has been refurbished recently. The bathroom has also been refurbished however could do with a proper seal under the shower door to stop the water coming out but other then that no complaints. Loosing one star for their outside street appeal. Staff lovely, room was lovely.

Unfortunately I had the displeasure of staying at this filthy motel last night while in Sydney for work. This was booked through flight centre. The whole place needs a good clean and revamp. Not just of the premises but also their staff. I was horrified when I entered the room. The place had a stench about it and was so dirty. I don't think it's been properly cleaned in years. Just look at the pictures and you'll see what I mean!|I did request another room and the friendly guy at reception told me he would see what he could do and would telephone his manager and get back to me...that never happened.|So I have a room that is disgusting and I have a hire car. Decided it would be better to sleep in the car but unfortunately the premises are very noisy. They have a bar/pokies area and it just gets louder as the night progresses and more alcohol is consumed. |As I had to be up at 5.30 I decided to try to sleep....to no avail. At 2.30am I went outside and asked the security guard if he would mind moving away from my room. He was in deep, loud conversations with two female patrons who had had plenty to drink and were not only loud but swearing non stop. He asked me what the problem was and I answered that I couldn't sleep as they were way too loud. His reply to me was " you do know that you're staying at a pub"? He's two female friends then chimed in with the same comment. I replied, "unfortunately I do realise that but it's 2.30 am and as I am paying for the room and you are being paid to keep the peace, couldn't you move on? He and his friends were unhappy with my complaint 😕|Do yourself a huge favour and give this one a wide berth. It needs a total overhaul.see the photos that I've posted and you will get a clearer picture of what it's really like here.

This place is tired, filthy and gross. The only positives are the sheets were clean, and it was priced cheaply (around $100). ||The reception stinks thanks to the staff smoking directly outside the door. ||There is a bar/nightclub/hotel 30m from the room, directly across the carpark. On a Sat night, this proved to be dispriptive well after midnight. ||The room is poor with broken and damaged furniture. The bathroom is simply filthy. But nothing can prepare you for the pool - the fact that any booking website references this place having a pool (which was important to my choice) is mind-boggling. It’s dirtier than the puddles in the carpark and obviously out of order.

The staff is friendly and beds were clean but everything else was really old and dirty. Start with the carpet I don’t think it’s ever been cleaned since installation (40-50 years ago), toilets are outdated and everything is falling apart and in our room you can hear the water all night because cistern doesn’t close the water and it keeps running 😏. Cupboards are hard to open and doors are almost destroyed. Bedside tables are also falling apart and they’re fixed with some plywood 😳🥹. Wouldn’t recommend this and definitely will not stay there again.

The front desk lady was nice enough in the beginning, although she talked on the phone and made us wait for five minutes. Reception was as old as the rooms and stunk like cigarettes. As soon as we went up to the room it felt sketchy and reeked of cigarettes as well. My friend checked her bed since she had a feeling it would have bedbugs or something and a cockroach jumped out at her. Then as she was telling me abt it a spider crawled across the wardrobe on the other side of the room. All within the first five minutes. We went back downstairs and told the lady and although she didn’t believe us she gave us a full refund. Also the photos of the room on their website look 100x better than actual room, we regret not taking photos.

The El Toro is a tired hotel, everything needs an overhaul. However for 1 night and for the price it is perfectly fine.|The staff in reception are very friendly and welcoming and the bar staff are also friendly. The Mexican restaurant does good food and accommodated our large family group. Both are very convenient to the hotel.|Pack your ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

THE BUTCH WITH THE SHORT HAIR AND TATTOOS ON HER NECK, SERVING WARM DRINKS WITH RAJ. YOUS HAVE A SWITCH BEHIND THE COUNTER SO ONLY PEOPLE YOU KNOW GET FEATURES, YOUR FEMALE WORKERS LOOK SO DESPERATE ARMS AROUND THE CHAIR OF THE PATRON WITH THE MOST MONEY. PATHETIC. MOLES.

The best thing about this place is that it is right next to goodtime burger store, got a good vibe, delicious food and good customer service. The hotel is very rundown. Definitely needs a makeover. Carpet is worn out, and stained, cracked tiles, crack on walls, paint falling off in places. My room had quite a few mosquito's. The cleaners do a good job but the room just looks dirty because of its age. The pool is "closed for maintenance" (ie, has not been maintained for quite some time) No wifi. Would not come again. Having said that, it's in a pretty good location, super close to the hospital and mall.

PATHETIC EXPERIENCE AT AL TORO. Checked in 12 am at room 1 and had to change the room at 3 am (room 24) in the morning after a 12 hours drive. Both rooms had stinking, smelly and extremely dirty carpets, the toilets were damaged and don’t flush, the worst of all was the BED BUGS. They made us scratch for days. Everything is nasty and dirty at AL TORO. THE WORST EVER ROOM AND MOTEL. DO NOT FALL FOR THE PRICE. We then changed our hotel and opted for Nightcap at Hume hotel that is only $15 more per night but with the best offerings.

Made use of the conference room facilities today and the staff were fantastic, made me feel right at home and nothing was too much effort. Can't thank you enough! PLUS I got to experience a Good Time Burger, OH WOW! I'll be bringing the family back for another burger session, sensational!!

I wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me. What a mistake The pool is empty and apparently has been for years - false advertising using those pictures online!! Air conditioning doesn’t work - we stayed on a hot night and it was hell, the a/c didn’t cool whatsoever. They don’t even provide a fan instead The carpets are disgusting, like the filthiest I have ever seen. The whole room felt unclean and unsanitary, I’m surprised I did not get bedbugs.

I walked in, was horrified and walked out! The photos on booking sites were very misleading to me. I opened the door and immediately noticed stains all over the carpet. Bed base on the floor, bed lamps with exposed wires and no covers, wall with mould and god knows what else all over it. Entered the bathroom to find the shower in an appalling state. I felt like I was catching diseases simply standing in the room so I immediately left to be told the refund cannot be given until tomorrow as no manager was onsite. Photos attached are what I saw on arrival before DEPARTING! quickly.

It's OK for a short stay. BYO pillow unless you like them very soft. Dont be fooled by the glistening picture of the swimming pool, El Toro advertises a pool but it doesn't exist, it's just disgusting and a meeting place for the bloody ibis birds.🤢🤮 Shower must be run very slowly otherwise the dodgy sealant allows the water to flow all over the bathroom floor and seeps out onto the carpet...too bad if you love a hot shower and fast water flow. Parking is terrible, Booked a room for 3 people yet the fIrst 3 days the room service crew only kept giving us 2 towels, spoke to the lovely lady at the check in and from then on was sorted. Very close to the shops convenient for dining or a quick bite.

I requested some special request like room in the upstairs and for microwave to the hotel fron trip app. The receptionist mentioned there is no request she can read. She was trying to give room in the ground floor. My request was fulfilled the next day but was unexpected. Overall the room is really nice and service too.

I’ll start with the location. Just of the main road and close to shops etc. |Reception: The lady was wonderful and helpful. |The room: Was comfortable and had everything we need. Look at the price. It’s not new, a little outdated but well worth it. We just wanted a bed and hot shower overnight. Perfect. |The linen was clean. Car park secure and outside the front door.

I have never been to this place before and I have truly enjoyed my stay. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Parking isn't a problem here. My room upstairs is average for a cheap motel and meets all of my needs. Of course, the room could be updated, but once again, what do you expect for a cheap motel. Also I thank all of the staff here for being super friendly and helpful 😃

I am staying with my family over the New Years break. The staff were upfront and friendly and helpful with all questions I had. We went to the burger restaurant at the motor inn and the service was immaculate! Very friendly and easygoing staff. Will return for the cheap taco night next time!

Handy spot right near to Liverpool CBD but nice and clean, quiet and cheapest prices. Stayed here a few times now and the rooms really could use a refresh i.e. repaint and re-carpet (minimum) but it is a 3 Star motel and the rooms are very clean and mattresses ok.

For the price, the inn did the job. Room was a good size, beds were comfortable enough. Room was very outdated and there were stains/wear and tear on the ground/in the bathroom BUT this didn't phase us too much. The two restaurants opposite our room were great! Loved the food. Overall, a pleasant stay

Firstly, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly! We were upgraded to a family room at no extra cost and staff made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed all weekend. The rooms were a good size and the beds were very comfortable. Rooms had pretty much all of the basic stuff you would need. Location was great, with a restaurant and bar within the complex and a cafe just across the road. Train station nearby and very close to Liverpool. Overall, a great place to stay!

As stated in other reviews the outside appearance leaves a lot to be desired BUT the rooms that we have stayed in 3 times in the past month have been neat and tidy unfortunately yes it is dated but we have found the staff so accommodating above and beyond. . If you can look past the outside and factor in the cleanliness of the room and the great staff. Location for us to Liverpool hospital was a bonus as well.

Approx a month had the displeasure of staying at the El Toro Hotel, and let me tell you, it was an absolute nightmare. First off, the room had no hot water, and despite numerous attempts to rectify the situation, it's been a whole month of nothing but cold showers. Can you imagine the horror? And as if that wasn't bad enough, their so-called "customer service" is non-existent. I've been calling them day in and day out, practically begging for a refund, but it's like talking to a brick wall. They couldn't care less about their guests' comfort or satisfaction. Oh, and don't even get me started on the pictures they have online. Total false advertising! The room looked nothing like what was depicted in those glossy photos. It was dingy, outdated, and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it hadn't been cleaned since the last century. To make matters worse, they seem to have this bizarre aversion to taking responsibility. Instead of owning up to their shortcomings, they're quick to pass the blame onto some mysterious third-party accommodation reseller. Excuse me, but last time I checked, it's YOUR hotel, YOUR responsibility! Save yourself the headache and steer clear of the El Toro Hotel. Unless, of course, you enjoy freezing showers, being ignored by incompetent staff, and spending your hard-earned money on a glorified dump. Trust me, you're better off pitching a tent in the wilderness than subjecting yourself to this disaster of a hotel.
