Went to the Empire Hotel Annandale tonight to celebrate my Fathers and sister in laws birthdays as both in the same week. The food was EXCEPTIONAL , I ordered the SPECIAL the house chicken curry and it was the BEST.. There was 9 of us and everyone really enjoyed what they ordered.
Staff was friendly and bathrooms very clean.. Great atmosphere , really A1 Inner west venue. Good night for all . 😁

We just poped in for some lunch, not expecting much. It was 15.- schnitzel day so we got one. It was grrat, chicken was fresh, chips crisy and and salad. Great value for money!!! Well done guys, thanks.

This is great local inner west pub. You will be spoilt for choice as to which part of the pub you sit it to have a drink or eat. The area near the window and fireplace has a nice traditional feel to it. The front of the bistro which is very brightly lit and good for a family, the area where the very large TV is to settle in with mates. There is also a back bar and outside area.
The food is good, the Schnitzels are amazing and I mean awesome!!! they are cheaper on Wednesdays.
Well stoked bar and cheapish cocktail jugs.

The worst food I've ever had in a pub. Burger bun and patty were offensively cheap and stale, my partners medium rare steak was charred, chewy and beyond well done. Wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy.

The Empire was once a great pub, I worked behind the bar a few years ago. Unfortunately, the new owners (Public Hospitality Group) have managed the place poorly and have also not paid staff any superannuation for over a year. I recommend not visiting until the venue changes ownership.

The Empire Hotel is a local gem that lives up to its reputation. Their nachos are outstanding, bursting with flavor and generous portions. The friendly staff creates a welcoming atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal with friends. The value for money is excellent, making The Empire Hotel a must-visit.

The $15 Thursday Steak deal cannot be beat! My husband and I ordered ours Medium Rare and it was perfect. Steak was juicy, chips were crispy and the veggies were veggies.

Sirloin 300g well done, mashed potato, boiled broccoli, and pepper sauce. Excellent. Bar and kitchen workers are professional and friendly. I highly recommend this pub, especially during the day, weekday, or weekend. Families eat there also.

Service & food was good, but a big downside was the portions of food, e.g. with veggies we only got broccoli, compared to other places we've been, it is a smaller seving, for some feedback there should be some variety in the veggies and larger portions especially for the price,

New bar has been painted dark and dreary, only 4 beers on tap compare to the previous 20 plus selection - was better before refurb

Love the fact they have Young Henrys craft beer on tap, such a great drop.
Had a fun few drinks and also dog friendly inside.
Not far from all the local craft breweries as well. Always enjoy Inner West craft beers...😃

I've ended up here a few times recently. I quite like the renovation and it gives a choice of seating types and vibes. The pub grub menu works and in general the food is pretty well executed. Service needs work though. It's not that the staff aren't friendly but every time I have been in I have encountered a bit of a confused first day energy.

I’m sorry but spaghetti marinara was really terrible. I really hope you take this off the menu. The sauce was really off and the seafoods were really unpleasant to eat. We had a few bites, had to stop and regretted it with that price. (24/July/23)
Also the services were really odd too and somewhat unfriendly.
We got in and the guy just staring at us , no hello no nothing and we have to awkwardly asked if he works there ….
I’m sorry but it’s just my experience.

I go to Empire Hotel frequently. They have spacial price every day. Especially on Wednesday, a big steak with a lot of chips. I took my friends to there and they were enjoyed the food and place as well.

If I could rate this pub 0 stars now I would. This used to be a place that I loved to spend time in, a place that had community and an atmosphere. This venue has recently been renovated and they have taken away anything good about the experience. What was once a lively, bustling atmosphere has now been replaced with a dreary and lifeless feel. I wish that the owners could see that the old layout was the reason why so many people came to this pub. Trying to market to a higher end audience with Mid Level pasta restaurants is a joke. RIP to the old empire you will be missed.

Had the steak at steak night, the quality was okay. Was not the best ive ever had but acceptable and meet the expectations. The area has been renovated recently and good for family and not crowded and noise. Overall good

Great tasting and value pub food with weekly specials! It was so good we came back the next night for dinner! Renovated restaurant area with very comfortable booth seating and good lighting. The staff on both evenings were friendly and accomodating. Even the chef/cooking team all looked happy and had good banter amongst themselves. Kitchen opens at 5:30pm. Bathroom was super clean and loved that they have paper towels and basins that our kids can reach! Can’t wait to return to try their Sunday night roast dinners for $22 and kids eat free!
Their Empire Ale on tap is refreshing and great tasting too! Happy hour is from 4-6pm and it’s $5 but doesn’t include cocktails; only beers and house wines. Can’t wait to return, this will be our new weekly pub for dinners with the family. Thank you Empire Hotel!

Great pub with nice clean interiors and very good food. There are daily specials and a weekly meat raffle. Still has the public bar and pokies while also having a good bistro. Also do a Sunday Roast with kids eating free. Service is good and food comes out fairly quickly.

Foods good, easy we never wait too long. I've been here for a few functions with hired bands. The atmosphere is great and they are open till late ✔️

Came here on 17/4,2022, they have renovated the front. It looks modern however, I much preferred the previous look. The warmth of the pub is now replaced by modern clinical look. The specials was also not available. The menu was a little odd. We didn’t find any food in the menu that we liked so we ended up leaving after a jug of beer.
Local favorite. We always come here for the specials and beers. Good atmosphere friendly staff
Recently came here in February 2020 and noticed the tables from the dining area are replaced by a bar stool table set up. Bar stools were a little wonky. Tables were a bit small too. For a larger group we couldn’t fit comfortable with all our knees under the table. Quite awkward to eat a meal with these new tables. Please bring back the sit down chairs !

Came here as I loved the character of the old charm that once was. They have renovated and it's the worst renovation I've every seen. From warm charming and opulent. To cold atmosphere boring paint job. Who ever the architect was had no taste or style. Why would you renovated something that was so arm and cosy to an cold place. The mussels I had were great service good.
Such a shame this place was renovated. You've lost me

Barramundi and Asian Coleslaw
Simple but amazing dish, the coleslaw had a chilli ginger flavour, I loved it to the last bite. I did not want to wash away the the aftertaste with a beverage, it left a pleasant flavour in my mouth. Shout out to the chef & cook they said hi while I was waiting, cool dudes.

awful service, bar lady made a snarky joke to my friend and as you can see from my meal i paid $30 i got absolutely no chips and my snitty was poorly cooked. pull your socks up cobar. disgraceful act.

A little bit disappointing in the beer selection. Only around 4 beers on the tap is not enough. A bit more of a range would be nice
