We were very excited to hear that the tavern was having a make over. Came up for food which was lovely . Staff were friendly . Kids play area sucks ,, tiny room with a square climbing frame. Less tv,s and more spent on ambience would be good instead of a large square area with hard chairs to sit on

We had a wonderful Mother's Day lunch here. The food was great as always. Great quality and huge servings. Really worth your money.

We attended the bistro for a birthday dinner, the attention and incredibly positive attitude of Tiana made our night, an absolute asset to your business. Thanks Tiana..

Very average, expensive over cooked steak.... when you order medium and you get well done, no point in returning! Send the chef to Mikes Bar and Grill for some cooking lessons!!!

Unfortunately we did not stay as it was noisy, crowded & unsuitable for the occasion. No parking & stairs to bistro very awkward, not the Engadine tavern we are used to.

Thought I was going to have a great time on the bevs. I was rudely shocked! I was served chicken poo and greasy kababs, fantastic! Tried to drown my pain away with alcohol and darts, the alcohol was on par however I figured out I had to bring my own darts! Over my dead body! Look at this lazy chip!

The tavern looks nice but parking has gone . Apparently the bistro food is good but there was a line-up to order which would be fine if it wasn't SOOOOO noisy making it difficult to have a conversation

The food was great, no issues there, however the service was extremely disappointing. Last night they had a 49% off cocktails special between 4-6pm for members. When it was my turn to order unfortunately it clocked on 6pm. I was told the special has finished and I therefore can't order the 49% off. As disappointed as I was , I accepted it is what it is. However, I pointed down to the menu that explicitly said "HAPPY HOUR COCKTAILS 6-9PM EVERYDAY'. He said he can't do that for that night due to the 49% off special which delays the happy hour until 7pm. Both myself and a few customers behind said that doesn't matter, it says in writing on their menu 6-9pm 'EVERYDAY' so they have to do it for that price, but they rudely refused what was written on the menu and told us we need to wait until 7pm. Extremely poor and rude service. If thats a legitimate rule each time there is a 49% off, fair enough, but that needs to be written and communicated for the customers. It came across in that moment like they had no idea what they were doing and created a rule on the spot to avoid charging less, instead of doing the right thing and upholding what was clearly written on their menu. On top of that, the service in the bistro was terrible too. When we walked in, we walked passed at least 3 workers, none bothered to greet us. We walked around for a few minutes trying to find our name on the table we booked, however no worker offered to help us find our table. It was just not a very welcoming atmosphere and extremely disappointing overall.

Overall an average experience compared to similar venues in the Shire. Ordered chicken parmigiana and BBQ burger. The parmi was excellent, large portion, enough sauce and cheese - I'd rate 5 stars. Unfortunately the burger ($20) was exactly the same size as the kids burger (which another person from our group ordered for their kid) - the only difference was the BBQ sauce so in reality we could have ordered a $10 kids burger and add some bbq sauce and it would have been cheaper. When questioned at the bar, we were told that's the burger and it's different from the kids one because of the bbq sauce. That's one star down. Another disappointment was accessibility (we had a pram but I was concerned for wheelchair users). There's no lift between the two floors so we had to go outside through a dodgy back lane, passing a bottle shop and then locating an entrance on the top floor.. overall quite a nuisance. Another star down.

Now that Feros has taken over it is SUPER busy, noisy but the food is good. However, I was left bitterly disappointed when at 8.50pm I went to order a cocktail on a Saturday night only to be told all the cocktail stuff had been packed away! They advised on the menu ‘members happy hour cocktails from 6-9’…. I guess this is only when the staff can be bothered. I emailed the tav directly with no response. Won’t be back. Lazy, poor service.

Newly opened. How can they get the simple stuff so wrong. I’m sure they would have paid some interior designer. Have they ever thought about the acoustics. So noisy couldn’t hear yourself think let alone have a conversation. Will never go back. Simple stuff what a disaster

Love the engadine tavern such friendly staff wanting to sink piss and drink heaps of sugar love it and also love the live music that gets me dancing all night long and sometimes coming up here to watch the nrl/footy on big screen not drinking though because it's bad for your health they need to get some classic old school music DJs to sing along too so everyone gets up and falls over during the concert...... Cheers to wonderful engadine

Lovely upgrade and food served in a timely manner and delicious, BUT, our family won't be returning. The main reason is no access for zimmer walkers, wheelchairs and prams. We were told to 'go around the back & use the ramp.' All well & good if a car park can be found close by, but my dad struggles to walk more than 15 metres. The other reason is the volume of the music! We asked for it to be turned down, but it didn't happen. Diners do NOT need music at volume - we go out to chat & enjoy the ambiance.

I’ve given the restaurant a few tries now hoping that the standard of food was due to the kitchen being new, but we had dinner on Saturday night and I won’t eat here again. Great place for a few beers but for the price point the quality of the food is very poor

Horrendous experience. Not enough staff on. 18 minute wait in line for drinks. 1 person serving on one register on a Saturday arvo/night. 15 minute wait on top of that for cocktails. Not enough cocktail glasses, margaritas getting served in small glasses. On 2 occasions Stone and Wood Pacific ale schooner were terribly poured and seemed flat. Staff not very friendly or welcoming. You either know what you’re doing by having 49% off drinks and slowing the service right down or just poorly planned. Either way FOH side of things were terrible. Food was good, fast to come out, steaks were cooked to perfection. They must of been short on plates too because the staff were continuously asking if we were finished throughout our meals.

Have had many delicious meals here since they have opened. Always such good value, tasty meals, and the Kids area is what sells it to our young family each time we go. The staff are always so accommodating and kind. We went for Mother’s Day yesterday, and all the mothers on our table got spoilt rotten by the Feros Group with a kind gift and a smiling girl who came around handing them out to us. She was so wonderful and really made our day. We will be back again and again.

Had the best experience here last week with the fish and decided to come back unfortunately did not receive the same standard. Fish had a weird smell and as I had one bite it just wasn’t right. Looking forward to it being finished but don’t think I can eat fish for a long long long time.

Good food.. New bistro needs some serious acoustic work, so so so so noisy. Everyone ends up shouting. Workers can hear orders. Partition walls, blankets, diagonal walls and the rest all needed

Food is a hit and miss, usually have to send it back and ask for correction. Mainly because bar staff doesnt put the order through properly, or the chef doesnt understand what rare means (steak) Service is terrible (maybe because the staff is close to highschool age?) A few experienced, professional staff would make a big difference in the bar and on the floor. The system is slow and unorganised. Waited 25 minutes in line to order food, then was told that I have to line up again to order drinks 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ another 15 minutes wait time. Atmosphere is very nice, the kids playing area is a great idea.

Feros Group modifications complete and new upstairs bistro open. January 2024 Previous Engadine Tavern review, below. Great suburban pub, with wonderful, friendly atmosphere. Helpful and attentive staff. We had Schnitzel & chips on the lunch special, as well as a Portuguese Chicken Burger. Both were excellent, service was quick.

Didn't expect much from the food. But damn did it deliver; very generous serving. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Best parma in the shire so far.

As a local in Heathcote I went with my family eager to try. Terribly disappointed. Over priced and my meal was inedible. The chicken wings were fried to the point they were chewy and clearly over cooked/burnt. I ordered the bang bang chicken salad. It was definitely not banging. Nothing about it was fresh. The vegetables were soggy with brown lettuce, the lime adjacent was clearly prepped the day before and was browning, the chicken looked exactly like packet processed chicken you buy from the supermarket and put on a sandwich. This was disguised in what can only be described as peanut butter and a packet of nobby’s nuts over the top. Will not be returning. It will be interesting to see what happens to the heathcote hotel.
