We get told you only have microwave snacks?
Not good enough

We came to the hotel for Christmas lunch, a set menu for $65. We had a booking for 12, they took our order after 30 minutes and the food came out two hours after our arrival! Considering the choice was an antipasto platter or calamari as a starter I'm not sure why it took 2 hours and why no bread rolls were given to fill the time. The antipasto came out missing bread for one plate at our table. The plum pudding was meant to come with double cream but they forgot it for everyone at the table. One waitresses was apologetic for the wait and most the staff were mildly friendly however one had the most sourpuss face I'd even seen, she was the most miserable person and provided awful unfriendly service. The food was alright. Not the best place to spend Christmas lunch.

Very nice hotel friendly staff and tasty food plenty of parking and a pleasant outdoor area.
Well worth the short drive.

This used to be a fair venue with huge wins to balance the many small losses, now all jackpots are small all losses are huge and there are many family's competing over the same machines.
Staff don't seem to care about the fighting and bickering among the elderly and the young over machines..
The ugly arguments have caused many seeking a fun night out to go elsewhere.

Staff are good but no security on until 10 pm a bit concerned about patrons safety especially if you are elderly and the staff need assistance as well service is limited due to lack of staff

Poor management, poor quality, poor everything. Everytime I go there I see regulars and often the head manager pick and belittle the bistro staff and bartenders. Those poor girls and boys who work there deserve better, you can tell they are under resourced because of the hotel. Very stingy and very scrooge!! Police and ambulances are often seen there as well. Do not attend here. Bundoora all the way!!

Pleasant ambience,good venue until bar staff raised volume of music in sports bar at approx 12.30 daytime, several patrons left , no longer to engage in conversation. Not in accordance with Wayne Meg's earlier review.

NOTICED A STAFF MEMBER KEIRIN, STANDING CONTINUOUSLY BEHIND PEOPLE, WHICH SEEMED CREEPY, ALSO HE HAD BAD MANNERS, HE DOSN'T BELONG IN THIS SORT OF ENVIRONMENT, LOOKS LIKE HE HAS SOME ISSUES WITH THE WAY HE WAS LOOKING OVER PEOPLES BACK AT THEIR MACHINES, SIMILAR TO STAND OVER TACTICS, JUST CHECK YOUR'E CAMERAS. WILL DEFINITELY NOT EVER EVER EVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE WHEN YOU HAVE SOMEONE WORKING WHO HAS ISSUES, COULD BE DANGEROUS.

Nice quiet carm atmosphere. Good place to watch the horse racing. Didn't see any meals.

Looks great after the recent Reno's, nice selection of specials and all round good food.
Definitely worth dropping by.

Have been dining at this hotel for over 5 yrs and would normally give it a 4 rating. BUT last night we ordered Scotch fillet. When I started to eat mine it was so tough I would have been chewing for ages. My husband said his was tough too (not as tough as mine). So we swapped steaks to see if we still agreed and we did. We did not want to be there for hrs chewing, so called over a guy (tall Guy) and explained that they were too tough to eat. He took them away and came back saying that the chef pulled them apart and they were not tough. We could not believe it.. We were told we were wrong and they would cook anything else for us but not steak.. We have eaten in many places plus managed some 4 restaurants in motels and have never heard that excuse. Plus His attitude was arrogant. Some times tough steak does happen but after that response we and our friends will be going to the Bundoora Hotel in future.

Had ordered a Porterhouse steak and asked for medium rare but obviously the chef doesn't know how to cook one. Average portion for a rich price.

Had my birthday there which was booked 3 months in advance. They have 3 price ranges for food platers and was told each range included everything. When I went to order it, it was per item not the whole selection. Was told the pool tables would be free but on the night they said I would have to pay for unlimited use. I organised for staff to walk around with food but they were understaffed on the night and refused. They also told me any left over money from the tab would be returned but refused to give it back on the night.

Had a mad win thank u Epping hotel! Staff was lovely also. The new arrangement of machines has given a more fresh spacious effect to the venue and it looks great!

Great meals for seniors ,it says when you buy your seniors meals you get one free drink per per senior,no where on the docket does it beer is not classed as a free drink?😪

UPDATE
One day I put $5 dollars into the pokies, won $10 dollars and when I went to cash it out, she claim I only gave her $7 dollars. Then since I keep asking for the extra $3 dollars she keep the whole $10 dollars. Was gonna do a official complaint, but to much effort for $10 dollars, now I just avoid the place, pity cause I never gamble and they had alright food.

First time to the hotel front bar 1. the beer I requested had run out and no one had bothered to put another keg on 2.asked for a menu only to be told the kitchen was closed ( permanently I think by the response) 3.had to wait while the staff tried to fix the cash register so I could pay ..I won't bother going back .

Felt like are real winner when I was here. The new layout and facilities is just great lovely local people to speak to with a huge variety of big screens to watch all sports. With great customer service as well.

Epping's central watering hole. The place is OK. Front bar a dive and a half but the bistro is nice enough. Staff are awesome and the food from the kitchen is brilliant and priced right. I not a pokey gamer so u can't comment on that.

Bistro or food (besides what they called “gambling snacks”) are no longer as told by staff. Just a room packed full of digital gambling machines. No pub vibe, just a room of gambling addiction sufferers. What a shame as this place used to be a pub , where people gathered for a good time and social atmosphere which is no longer around. The words bistro remain on the outside of the building but it’s only a gambling centre, with digital machines to feed your income into like a zombie if that’s your cup of tea. This place is not what the area needs.

After dining here Monday night, 18th December, we were very disappointed in the language used from the Boss Man addressing his staff. This was very inappropriate and some what embarrassing. If you need to address your staff in any way it should be done in private. Service and meals were very good, but we were not prepared for the entertainment and colourful language from the "Boss". There are many other Eateries in this area, many of which we passed to get here. Next time we may not go passed them.

Absolutely discusting attitude by the blonde staff lady with glasses her name is veronaca she is a rude piece of work dont order risotto tastes like chuck and i wouldnt feed it to a starving rat. Ordered kids meal with nuggets bought out something different that my son is allergic to refused a refund absolute disgrace

Absolute disgrace of a place. Waiting over an hour gor a chicken parma. First the risotto that was terrible no flavour tasted just of dry parmesan which may i add who puts that stuff on risotto so take it back for them to refuse to replace or give money back. Then secondly ordered kids nuggets. Rather then informing us that they have ran oit of nuggets they bring something else that our child does not eat. Take it back and they refuse to replace or give money back. Veronica was absolutely rude and is a disgrace to this hotel with her smug attitude. The manager would not even speak to us about the whole ordeal. So overall bad customer service apart from Cas who tried everything to fix the issue, meals terrible and to leave a young child with no food. Seriously. Will never eat there again. And i thought the customer is always right. Epping hotel you are a joke!!!
