About Excelsior Hotel
Relaxed rooms offering minifridges and free Wi-Fi, plus a casual pub-style bistro and a sports bar. Set in a commercial area off the Metropolitan Ring Road, this casual hotel is a 14-minute walk from Keon Park railway station and 3.1 km from Ziebell’s Farmhouse. Excelsior Hotel Reviews
When looking for a venue for my Dad's wake I came across the Excelsior Hotel. Other venues were charging per head which didn't suit us as we weren't sure how many people would attend. The Excelsior had a variety of platters available including sandwiches and hot and cold platters of food that suited our needs perfectly. Tea and coffee were also available. The initial staff I spoke to re the enquiry were very helpful and emailed me the menu immediately. The booking went smoothly and the bar staff and food waitress on the day of the wake were super friendly and helpful. The quality and the amount of food was wonderful, just what we required. I would highly recommend the Excelsior Hotel for such an event. Thank you so much.

We’ve had dinner there a few times and the food is always fresh and well presented.
The staff are friendly and welcoming in particular Shahina. She always has a smile on her face and always stops to say hello. Very friendly environment with great food

went here for dinner with the family and was greeted by one of the best waitress we've ever had. would like to shout out Alicia for her wonderful effort in providing my family and I a great dining experience

Very good service given by the staff and the food was amazing will come back again... Thank you to the chefs for making our food perfect. Favorite place to eat and drink .

Took the work crew to the bistro was a last minute decision and we were greeted with the most friendly staff all 19 of us .
The staff were amazing Brylee and Sharon table served us and food from chefs was the best. Head chef jb came to greet us also such a lovely place best in town top service

This is our favourite place to catch up especially when we do not want to cook.
We always have the Seniors specials which are delicious and the cheesy parmigiana, you will have trouble finding it better elsewhere, we have tried.

The staff was very friendly, and the room was nice and tidy. We stayed for one week and they cleaned the room every day. On request, you can get a hairdryer. The hotel is a quick Uber away from the Ruthven train station, which was great (other one is closed)

Our group of 6 enjoyed our dinner at the Excelsior Hotel.
There will be no hesitation in using the venue again.
Attended the Excelsior Hotel again for New Year's Day lunch 2024 with my brothers and family, again the service and food was excellent.
I have to make a special mention of our waitress Sharon she was excellent and went above and beyond most waitresses.
If I had a venue I would be trying to have her work for me.
Good job 👍 to the Excelsior Hotel.
Again had a family get together on Saturday the 18/05/24 to remember and celebrate our fathers birthday.
It was Lovely again to have Sharon as our waitress, she is exceptional, caring and pleasant.
Service by all the staff was great.
Would recommend the Excelsior as a venue.
Thank you again Sharon hope to see you again.

Lemon lime bitters but couldn't even mix it properly. Food is shocking, We ordered. Kids burger, 2 kids nuggets and 2 parmas, Kids burger is a frozen patty that you would buy from the supermarket in the boxes, All chips were pale and undercooked. When complaining got the "head chef" come to the table to speak about it, When I pointed out about the patty he states they make them here but do not be fooled because they are 10000% bought in, The first waiter we had even said so.
As for the chips being under cooked ". The customers we get in here like it like that". Still have to maintain cooking standards, that's why we have them. I would not recommend eating here if you like quality food. Head chef isn't fully that blame, just a typical ALH pub where the executive chef doesn't actually care about customers and there eating experience. As a chef myself for over 10 years now, and a head chef at a pub in the city, I know exactly what I am talking about. You can see by the photo. The pale chips. Then the right chips after complaining

Last Friday night, we booked an 8.00pm table for 4. Due to delays at the airport, we were 10 minutes late for our booking. Being four “oldies”, the dining room staff were absolutely fantastic in looking after us. We were given a quiet table to enjoy our meal, the food service was quick, and the meals were very satisfying. We have a “Wedding Anniversary “ to celebrate later in March, so, we’ll definitely be back. Thank you so much to the dining room staff for giving us such an enjoyable dinner, 😇😇😇

Kids meals have gone back to including drink and meal quality was better. Staff friendly especially Anchal who was very friendly and great with the kids

I stayed over night last Friday. I was greeted by the friendly staff Michelle & Juliette
While at the bar a rude customer was abruptly rude to Juliette but all the while she stayed professional and problem solved his complaint.well done to you girl.
I was checked by Michelle who gave me the run down.
I ordered room service the famous steak sandwich it was delicious, well Cooked even the happy chap that delivered it to my door was lovely. I may suggest a napkin would have helped lol
I then went into the venue and the staff was great Michell followed up with me to ensure I had settled in alright.
The rooms have all been given a lovely face lift as I had previously stayed there 20yrs great job with the room bed was comfy

I just had to give a big shoutout to Alicia at my new favorite pub! Her exceptional customer service truly made our visit unforgettable. From her warm and friendly demeanor to her attentiveness and efficiency, Alicia went above and beyond to ensure we had an incredible experience. Food was delicious and arrived promptly as well - congratulations to the whole team !! See you again soon Excelsior !

Had recently been to the excelsior hotel with a group of friends. Saw the sign of cheap schooners and had a stop before heading home after a long day of work. The meals were great in size and generously portioned enough to leave satisfied. Shout out to chefs and head chef on at the time who came to greet me at the ordering station to provide some great recommendations of steaks and even vegetarian options of rice & pastas. Fantastic food and service by all. Will be returning to this pub. Cheers

Had a wonderful Mother’s Day celebration with my, grandmother & aunt at Excelsior. Although it was busy, we had a wonderful time. Food was well priced, yummy and quick. With such great service from Shahina and other staff we will definitely be back. She also makes great cocktails!

Had a reunion luncheon for a large group of my work mates, and I must commend the Excelsior for the exceptional service they provided, particularly from Sharon and Josh, who ensured we were well looked after. Could not have asked for better service.
The food was excellent, and the venue has been upgraded to a high standard from when we met there last year.
I have no problem recommending the Excelsior for any function or just a leisurely meal.

Great service, great ambience. Got attended by Shahina, she was so amicable and polite and good at her work. The parma tasted really good as well. Very satisfied.

Great pub with good food and atmosphere. Sports fans will love the screens showing all the sports.

Great food @ cheap prices. Service was of a good standard. Very hands on staff who made sure we were enjoying our meals. Made us feel cared for, especially by the young man worker.
Will definitely be back again with our friends and family!!

From the moment I spoke with Ash on the phone I felt very comfortable booking accommodation. Travelling alone I was nervous, however she made me feel very safe. She was accommodating, welcoming and full of information. The room was modern as stated on the website- Tastefully decorated throughout, the mattress made for a great nights sleep and the room clean as a whistle.

Food was ok but the rest, im actually pissed off i came here.
First i chose a table with no reserve on it went up to order my meal to look over at my table after ordering to find other people sitting there i aproched them and find out they have a reserve on the table then the staff put me on a dingy little table that was half blocking a door that was being constantly used... the final straw was not eating my entire meal becaise i wanted to give some to my dog and its oh we dont actually have a lic that allows for you to take your meal home...
thought i would give exelsior it a try i wont be back...

Catch up with friends at the Excelsior. Sharina the front of service employee was wonderful. She was friendly and helpful. Good food good company was a great time. Would recommend the hotel if you are looking for somewhere to eat.

Came in with my parents for a lunch in the bistro during the week. My mum had the fish of the day which was salmon and she absolutely loved it. Manager Brylee treated my family and I very well. Making sure everything was okay and how we were enjoying everything. Lovely customer service from all staff and very prompt. Will be back

Came for dinner with 4 other friends, no booking, and they managed to accommodate us (thank you), food was amazing, and the best customer service from shahina behind the bar, was super friendly, massive smile on her face while serving everyone! Made me the best fruit tingle cocktail! Came up to our table after we finished our meals to check in and see how everything was! Best service by far! Thank you Shahina ❤️❤️

Been in for lunch. Had the mix grill. Jayb the head chef cooked it to perfection with recommendation. Brylee looked after me always a good laugh and chat. Great pub
