Wow how good is the pub and bistro here, starting with the bar staff so welcoming and accommodating through to some delightful food, we had both choices on the $15 menu for lunch the steak and the chicken schnitzel both where devine , steak so fresh well cooked and so tender, same with the schnitzel. Also nice to sit in a area with no TV and some nice music. Really enjoyed our time and highly recommend
Edit: so impressed we come back again and again 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 for the bar staff so helpful and nice

We wanted to go to our usual spot for lunch, to our good fortune it was closed and we located this gem online. Had the Grazing Platter for 2 as Entree, The Calamari was tender and popping with flavour, the Chicken wings had a nice bite to them, the Prawns had a beautiful char to them, were juicy and spot on with flavour. The salad was light and fresh with a great tangy dressing. The lunch special we had was the Chicken Schnitzel, awesome portion, definitely
bigger then a lot of other pubs or taverns I have eaten in. The fresh pipping hot chicken with a house crumb and house gravy was fantastic and the veggies were fresh and hot. Will definitely be back and definitely recommend this establishment along with the awesome hospitality from all of the staff. Well done to all, thank you

We stayed here for too night's and absolutely love it. The staff were super friendly, the food was very well priced and delicious, the beer was amazing, and the locals were welcoming and friendly. I recommend this place. 10/10 Thank you all so much for making out Trip to Bathurst better. I left my jumper there, can you please donate it to a local op shop. 🤣👌👍👍

We are a table of 12 who religiously will book every Wednesday night to attend for musical bingo. We are always greeted with a smile upon entry and have gotten to know the staff well. I would like to shout out to one particular staff member - her name is Edie. She is lovely, polite and has always remained accommodating towards myself and fellow table members. She is such a lovely breath of fresh air. We enjoy coming here & Edie definitely contributes towards our opinion. If you get the chance to attend The Family Hotel, I hope you are served by Edie. She is lovely. The regular bar staff are also perfect. They definitely go above and beyond for patrons.

They very generously offered me a full refund despite me being late with the cancellation date. My trip was cancelled as the group organiser changed the dates. Will definitely look to stay here when it’s rescheduled.

Stopped in for dinner on a Sunday night. It was very quiet as expected. Food was served within 15 minutes and was hot and tasty. Had a sneaky fruit tingle cocktail and it was only $10 and tasted and looked amazing!! Great customer service too, the loveliest girl who served us.

slightly expensive for an empty local pub.
I needed to become a member (free) to take part in happy hour which is one dollar off.
way too many televisions for gambling.
no pool table. Selection of Australian beers, mostly lagers. no ipa or anything slightly different. Two and a half stars.
Visited in December.

Myself, husband and family/friends attended this pub Fri 8th Dec for the pub quiz night that was advertised to start at 7pm on their FB pages, it was also well advertised on their pub posters and TV's. As i asked at the bar i was informed it was not on anymore for months, the false marketing is appalling amd unacceptable! We proceeded to have a cold drink and nibbles as we planned, we asked for 5 plates to share they gave us 3! Also the poor upkeep of the pub, like untidiness of floors, bathrooms and number of broken chairs is totally unacceptable. It was a complete letdown to us all and we are extremely disappointed in what used to be a great pub!!!

Lunch at the Family Hotel in Russell Street. |I had the $15 chicken Schnitzel. Chicken was cooked very well with a nice crumb coating, salad (extra $2) and crunchy chips. Excellent meal and very good value.|Julie had the Salt and Pepper squid. I am not a fan of squid, except when it's put on a fish hook, but when it arrived it looked so good I decided to try it. The squid was cooked perfectly, definitely tender and flavoursome with the salt and pepper coating highly recommended. Good value with both meals and an icy cold frothy to wash it down.

Love this pub!! Can’t say much more than that honestly Friendly staff, great food and a place to catch up and have a dance with friends to awesome Weekly live bands. Keep up the good work guys

LOVE this place always but I can't believe they are so stingy to remove their lunch specials for race week 😂
Also one particular older lady at the bar is always soooooo rude. Besides that, place is great!!

Lovely pub with delicious chips, steak and salad! Dog friendly with a great outdoor courtyard, open all Easter long weekend. Would recommend.

Live band, laid back boozer.
Don't do the cocktail specials though. I was looking for a cool treat and was over beer but these were pretty ordinary.
Central location, nice staff, funny crew.

I work for a not for profit and we took 15 kids through Bathurst and stopped here for dinner and I cannot commend this place enough. They were very accommodating with our budget, the meals were beautiful and huge, service was impeccable, nothing was too much to ask.
I cannot recommend this place enough and if we ever pass through again this would definitely be the place we would eat!

Having a dog friendly deck is amazing! The staff bought out a bowl of water for our girl within 2 minutes of us arriving. Ordering was easy and the staff even bought our cocktails out to us. Overall value is pretty good. Nice large meals that actually taste good.

Had a lovely dinner tonight. Lamb shank and mash were delicious and wife enjoyed her pork ribs! It is also worth mentioning the service - staff is super nice and friendly. Thank you so much, team! ❤️

Great old fashioned pub at very reasonable prices (book through the pub website to get the best rate).
Very helpful staff - when I left something behind in my room they posted it to me and would not accept payment. Now that's service!

Great location with good food and ok staff.
That is where it stops.
Don't stay here if you need to get some sleep.
Other guests yelling and and even barking like a dog in front of my window on the balcony and stomping up and down the corridor until 3:30am
Very loud and not considerate of other guests at all.
Then after 3 and a half hours sleep the pub staff turn on the music at 7am.
Staff members reply to my complaint was "it is a country pub and that's how it is"
Forfeited without asking for a refund my last night as I have 8 hours of travel tomorrow so found a nice quiet motor inn .

Great location for Bathurst events.
Central location.
Friendly, helpful staff.
Quiet.
Rooms - generous high ceilings, clean and tastefully furnished.
Pay TV (Netflix, Stan etc) for the culturally challenged.
Recently refurbished bathroom (for males).
'Ladies' requires attention to cater for the altitude-challenged.

Can order from the tables via an app or otc. Be aware if using the app some items are included which the app pushes you towards adding at additional costs.

first time coming here this evening, the service from the 2 bartenders was amazing, they were so easy to get along with and were very patient while we were all making our choices. The cocktails taste amazing and presented so nicely. We ordered food not long after and even though they were busy we got our food within 15 minutes. This is the best “pub” food I have ever had. The grilled chicken burger is cooked to perfection and the fries were so crispy and hot! The pork belly was also really good along with the bacon garlic bread. The staff here are so friendly and the food is yum! Will definitely be back 😊

dropped in here on the way through to Orange recently. a cold and foggy drive over the mountain. but was greeted by a warm and friendly pub just off the main road in Bathurst. it was a thursday night so the place wasn't humming with people. but the service was great. and the food even better. i am an absolute lover of country pubs in particular the food. and the Family Hotel didnt disappoint. my wife ordered the curry. (no pictures. sorry) and I took advantage of the bangers and mash. a couple of points here. the sausages were clearly made at a butchers or in house. no mass production here. juicy. meaty. not much more to ask for. but there was more. the gravy on point. and as a nice little touch that you barely see in the city. mashed peas to compliment the mashed potatoes. a welcome addition. and one i want to see more of in the city. overall. happy we stopped here. could have strapped in and watched the footy. but the drive ahead still needed to be completed. well done Family Hotel Bathurst. will recommend. and will try to stop by again next time we are over the mountain.

Don't head there for trivia, it may get cancelled after it's scheduled to start. We thought it would be fun to get a group and go to Tuesday 7pm Trivia. We booked a table, bought main meals, a couple of rounds of drinks, and at 7.30pm we were told it was not going to be on, as not enough people. First up, there were 7 of us! And also others in the room that had come for it. We still could have had some fun, throw out a few questions, less questions, yell out answers, improvise, anything really! Do something for those that came. But instead, we spent our money; and left. Some in the group went to a lot of effort to get there, I felt so bad but the family hotel thought nothing of it. Family Hotel, don't advertise Trivia to lure in patrons, and cancel it when you just can't be bothered.

A warm friendly pub with excellent staff,food is great a wide ranging menu. The accommodation is great value. The guests kitchenette with complimentary coffee , tea, water , milk and even nutri grain was a lovely surprise.

A place popular with locals. Nothing fancy good helpful staff, apparently cheap alcoholic drinks compared to other places. We went as a large group unplanned later after dinner and they were still open and happy to have us. A good local spot for catching up with others. Unsure about outdoor areas as we went later in the evening and it was a colder night.
