Western Rocklobster was too good not to share, was absolutely devive and heads up to the head chef, Paul. Everytime we visit it keeps getting better and better, every articulated improvement making for an experience people should not miss out on, will be back soon!

We had a family wedding on the weekend and it was an absolute pleasure to stay at the federal hotel!
The staff were beautiful.
The meals were beautiful and the room was clean and perfect.

We celebrated a 75th birthday last night. The meals were great, served promptly and the staff so friendly. Thoroughly recommend the 'Feddie' to anybody local or visiting Toowoomba.

Visited here for lunch with my wife and my Uncle and Aunt. It was on the busy side I thought for a week day. Which is usually a good sign that the place has good food.
The atmosphere was great. As was the decor. Orders were at the counter and the lady was very friendly and helpful. Prices were very reasonable for a pub. Even though they were busy our food came out in about 20mins. We were very impressed about that.
I had the steak sandwich and found it to be very tasty and of good size. My family members also enjoyed their meals very much.
Over all a great place to get a good feed if you are in Toowoomba.

Very disappointed.
I ordered a Medium Rare 400g Rump steak, it was served 35 mins after most of the other people at my table were served their meals, even though we ordered within minutes of each other.
When it arrived it looked delicious, but was tough and stringy. The vegetables tasted like they had been cooked the day before and just re-heated.
The ambient noise was almost intolerable. I don't appreciate having to yell to be heard, while trying to have a conversation with my friends.
I hope you take this critique on board and in the future, provide a better dining experience.

The food is delicious, with variety to choose from. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Perfect place to catch up with friends for dinner.

My wife and I dined here on a Fri night during the Spring Flower Fest. Luckily we had taken the precaution of booking ahead because soon after arriving, the place quickly filled up, creating a lively, energetic and fun atmosphere.
The Fed is carpeted throughout, and with its exposed brick facades, low mood lighting, stylish timber features and wooden furniture, with upholstered leather chairs, it has a comfy, warm and homely ambience. The minute that you walk through the front door you’ll feel happy that you made the decision to dine here.
Even though it was a busy Fri night, everything ran smoothly. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly maître d and shown to our table, in a nice spot near the window.
The Fed is part of the A.L.H. Hotels Group, so you can order in the old fashioned way at the bar, or by using their much faster and more efficient app. We used the app, and it worked well. You can track your order as you go, adding or deleting items as necessary, so it’s much easier to manage your budget this way. The whole order can be sent off at once with a request for entrees to come first. Payment is taken immediately, meaning that there’s no hanging around after the meal waiting for the bill to arrive, then queueing again to make the payment. It’s all fast, simple and efficient. And my Monty’s Rewards Club membership is linked to the app, ensuring that I always get the generous 5% discount on food and drink.
And the post-ordering service was pretty professional too, with a bevy of waitresses on duty, all neatly turned out in smart black uniforms. No matter how busy the place is, you can be assured of fast food delivery with no long delays. It took only about 10 minutes after ordering for the meals to arrive at the table, piping hot and fresh from the ovens. And it was of the usual high standard that we've come to expect from A.L.H. Hotels. We ordered the roast of the day, the salmon patties with extra calamari, and apple pie with cream, ice cream and custard for dessert. It was all fresh and tasty, prepared with love, care and attention to detail and presented to the table on stylish white crockery. My roast beef was tender and flavoursome and accompanied by a varied selection of colourful, wholesome vegetables. My wife's salmon patties were neatly made with a crispy outer coating, filled with lashings of fresh, tasty salmon. The apple pie was sweet and moist with a crispy pastry. It came with a dollop of fresh cream, a serve of ice cream and a little bowl of custard. The perfect way to end the meal.
All up, and including three drinks, we paid a modest 70 pesos. That's excellent value for money in this era of hyperinflation in our country, so thanks to the A.L.H. Hotel Group for keeping dining out affordable, especially for long struggling seniors. Being a member of Monty’s Rewards program also helps keep costs down. If it weren’t for venues like this one, we could never afford to eat out.
And finally, to top off a perfect night, there are clean and well provisioned toilets just behind the dining area, and ample free parking in the venue’s own car park, which it shares with the popular Dan Murphy’s liquor store, making it extra convenient to stock up your liquor cabinet on your way out.
We will definitely be back for a return visit next time we're in Toowoomba.

My second visit just missed the mark totally, 300g rib fillet was 10-12mm thick, served fast but the steak (overcooked) and the chips were cold, can only assume pre cooked. The meat quality was there, tender and tasty

Meals didn't come out at the same time, half of the table had finished before the remaining meals arrived. When following up on the meals, the waitress was extremely rude and the manager couldn't have cared less. When meals finally arrived the food looked like it had been thrown on the plate. It was disgusting!

I took my almost 80 year young Uncle and partner to Federal Hotel for lunch... Highly recommend it, from the time you get greeted when you walk in and then taken to your table buy the lovely waitresses, from the bar staff to the kitchen staff, are very friendly, helpful are an asset to the company... Now for the food, OMG what a delight, well worth the money, made to perfection and made with love, my Uncle loved it, infact we all did... Oohhh and very clean 😁

If I could leave a zero star that wouldn't be low enough. I went for my nephews birthday dinner. My partner and I ordered our meals before everyone else. Our meals still had not come out and most of the party had finished eating their meals. When I asked the waitress about our meals she snapped at me and was extremely rude. I do not recommend this pub for any function. The atmosphere is dull, and the service staff don't seem to wat to be there.

Have eaten here several times.... entree & main came whith in minutes of each other .. like always.... domino effect of steak and mains being cold, as we ate our entree on an excessively crowded table, followed by eating under pressure.... not enjoyable at all. Then a lack of table clearing...
Everything is tasty, with the potential to be awesome...
Cold beer, great wine, good atmosphere.... totally overshadowed by lack of training and maybe staffing. 🤷♀️
Have high hopes for the next time! Yes.... we will be back 🤞#notgivingup

Great pub, good selection of beers, food is 5 star quality and is ready quickly. Staff are polite, professional and always up for a casual chat. I stayed at the caravan park close by and dined here nightly for 3 days, great experience all round!

Great place for lunch and the staff were great also.
Even though the dining room was very busy they were very fast with the meals which were delicious.

Good selection of good, acceptable selection of drinks - serving their clientele. Suits adults, possibly families with older children, or those who can quietly entertain themselves. I enjoyed the warm beetroot salad. Table service, and customers are able to order from their mobile or at the bar.

Good pub and all the sports but the owner needs to invest in BIG, CLEAR screens to watch sport. Scrap the projector and cheap, pixelated screens.

Chef nailed the steaks, 🥩 ate there a three out of 4 nights on a work trip, food selection wasn’t huge but what I chose was delicious.

Beautiful meals for my wife and myself crumbed steak and garlic prawns.
The ferro Roche Martini was a really nice touch from the barman, my wife loved it.

Amazing meals and atmosphere! I had the Barramundi with mash and garlic sauce and hubby had the Pork Belly, his was mostly fat so not the best we've had but still a nice meal.
