Wow what an oasis in this little town. 'The Fed' is locally owned and operated by a young chef and his wife. The atmosphere is great, giving me the feeling of coming home to my local, warm and inviting. The staff are amazing! Friendly, fast, always willing to help. The Beer is cold, good selection of ales other than the usuals. The food left me speechless. Presentation is exciting, smell is enticing, flavors are mouth watering. Perfectly cooked with actual care an passion. This is my new favorite place in Maryborough. Highly recommend you try.

We stopped for early lunch on way through to camping spot. Saw review about being dog friendly outside. We were very happy with meals, service and value for money. Definitely recommend.

Went here for a friend's birthday..the crumbed steaks were huge. My crumbed fish had 3 big pieces and a beautiful salad with it. This place needs to advertised more. It has a hot box, 13 milkshake varieties, coffees and ready made wraps. Check it out.

We haven't been at the Federal for some time. We went for lunch and we both had a burger. Delicious, not your ordinary burger. We will be back.

Travelled up to Mary borough and seen this beautiful dine in and it wasn’t filled with heaps of people. I am shocked that is wasn’t the service the whole place in general is so lovely and cozy.
The food oh my it was just delicious and I have been to many places looking for a decent eggs Benny and this place has not only made a delicious meal but has satisfied my appetite.
I wouldn’t mind travelling back just to dine here again and to get that delicious eggs Benedict again.

This is a gem of a pub they have a range of craft beers plus food that includes normal pub fare but is different from others in that they have a range of burgers and loaded fries that had us coming back for a second visit and it was a 50km drive

The staff are always so friendly and welcoming and the more you go there the more you get to know them! The food is AMAZING every time I go there I always know what I want every time. they have a great variety of drinks and beverages. If you are a person that eats a big meal but not too big, the possum burger is the best. The food always comes quickly and it's always so delicious. Also a warning, if you ever get the Fed Burger, DO NOT GET IT FOR YOURSELF! It's big enough for 2 people. The live music and bands they have there are always great and cheerful and fun.
I would DEFINITELY recommend, it's such an AMAZING restaurant. 😁😃

The food was really good and provided quite a few options which were different to the standard. I had braised brisket and my husband had an upmarket hot dog. Something we couldn't get anywhere else in Maryborough. We were also able to take our dog and sit outside. We will be back.

The food was amazing and different than the the normal pub food, however it is also on the menu.
The service was great and friendly. We were made to feel very special as I informed with my booking it was our wedding a. Just the nice touch.
Highly recommend The Federal Hotel Maryborough. Gavin and Jess Chin you should be proud of your business at these very different times.

The food here is absolutely delicious. No surprise this place is owned by a chef. Staff are a riot. Forget pokies and keno this is a real pub. It’s all about beer. Nothing mainstream but nothing boutique either. Craft beer on tap all flavours and strengths and nothing too pricey. Brilliant pub, stop here if you can!

Stopped off on the way past and had coffee, meat pie n dim sims n devil's chicken wings.
Meat pie was made on the premise and was delicious. Also liked the chicken n Dim Sims .
Give it ago, you will not be disappointed .

Selection of craft beers tasted a couple and not to bad it seems craft beers attacked a premium price and this hostel is no different, it would seem the hotel is still suffering a COVID hang over with no seating at the bar. service was great but only a couple of us there

Refreshing to go to a restaurant and have to choose between 4 or 5 dishes you really want to try. Great wine list and great beers too!! Awesome live music for Saturday lunch a bonus!!

Popped in for a light lunch and a wine or two
Ordered the tomato and basil and mushroom and olive bruschettas to share ..
Oh my god!...just next level !..every mouthful was heaven and Dan our server was a delight .
We were here when it was very quiet but we were told this place can get crazy and with food like this and such a gorgeous venue it well deserves to be

Paid for 6 chicken nuggets and chef made my son extras! Man, best burger we've had ever! Huge burgers and chicken nuggets are .ade fresh.

My favourite place to eat at for breakfast great service always feel welcome and leave absolutely full can't do lunch after a breaky here

Just not what I expected it to be, was recommended to us so we tried it out. Wasn't all that great to be honest. Brisket special was dry.. southern fried chicken special was ok. Haloumi salad good but only 2 pieces of haloumi... parmy was meant to have Swiss cheese and salsa seemed to be just cheese and napoli. My son got the little possum burger and the mince patty was still slightly pink. We waited 40 minutes for entree and about the same again for mains. Not an ideal family venue . If we try again fingers crossed we leave more satisfied

Great pub grub lunch, great prices. Burgers absolutely delish and filling. Excellent value, relaxed vibe and the service by staff a stand out. Will be back on our return trip. Give the Fed a try.

Great little pub we stopped there for brunch and we were so very surprised at the quality and price. The staff are so friendly and accomodating with a couple of special request. Nothing was to much trouble sndcthe food was very good. I would highly recommend jere for a reasonable priced feed.

Great food. I came for lunch and it was the first time I had crumbed steak. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was quite delicious. A great alternative to chicken schnitzel. The chips and salad were also fresh. There was also a great range of beers on offer.

Food was great. Lovely staff. Good, honest Aussie pub. Background music was a bit disappointing (too modern and loud) but was only during the breaks of the wonderful solo guitarist they had on. Will definitely visit again if ever back in Maryborough. :)

Fodd is absolutely delicious the burgers are the best in Maryborough Muesli and poached fruit is delicious never had a bad meal here and we eat here regularly. The staff are lovely too.

Felt the girl who welcomed us didn't listen... we wanted to sit at the bar for a few drinks before dinner and were guided to the dining area. We chose to sit outside. The table was sticky.. when asked if could wipe with a wet cloth.. the cloth was black. On the plus side..the entrees were delicious!! The brisket cigars were mouth watering as well as the oysters!! My partner got the rib which wasn't the best but the lamb was lovely. The price was a bit steep and only go there if your a craft beer fan.

Called in for a late lunch & very impressed with the service & quality of the food. The street noodles were delicious & the burger enormous. Range of boutique beers as well so a place to visit regularly.

After attending an art exhibition opening night, hubby and I headed to the Federal Hotel for a quick dinner. Service was very friendly and warm, and we were given cold water and menus promptly. I chose a prosecco, while hubby went for a soft drink. We both decided on a salad – halloumi for him, and a roasted vegetable version with a poached egg on top for me. There were also slices of cucumber, and some green leaves. I added grilled chicken, which came as tender and delicious strips, and I would have loved a bit more. I enjoyed this salad, but I felt it could have done with a bit of a lift like a spritz of lemon juice, and maybe a scattering of toasted nuts, and some black pepper. The vegetables were roasted in a plain oil, and I would have liked the bite of olive oil instead. But that’s a minor point, and just my preference. We shared a bowl of fries with aioli. Hubby enjoyed his salad of roast pumpkin, with the salty, squeaky halloumi and green leaves, and chickpeas. The hotel interior is quirky, painted in black with interesting murals, a chandelier or two, and corrugated iron walls. We had a pleasant dinner, and would happily dine again on our next trip up to the Fraser Coast area.
