Welcoming staff as soon as we walked in. Helpful and prompt service. Look after their tables, unlike establishments that want the customer to do everything. My wife and I both highly rated our meals for pub fare. The lamb shanks and the grilled chicken burger. Would happily return!

We came across this amazing Tavern on a stop over in Port Macquarie. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with friendly service. We have 2 small children and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate for their meals as well as providing them with colouring books and pencils. Every meal we ordered was absolutely delicious!!!! We can't thank the staff enough for a wonderful dinner after such a long drive. Highly recommend Finnian's Irish Tavern!!! We will be back on our next trip 😃

Thursday night dinner after being on the road. Went for the Chicken Schnitzel with chips, salad and I ordered gravy with it.
The meal was pretty quick, chips were crispy, schnitzel hot and tender and the salad was very fresh.
Gravy was tasty, dressing on the salad was refreshing.
The pint of accompanying Kilskenny hit the spot!
The staff were accessible and helpful and enquired as to my satisfaction of the meal.
Overall a great pub meal, would recommend a visit.
My only slight gripe was that I ran out of gravy, go bigger with the sauce.

This place is the ideal comforting Irish pub. Great hearty meals and a comfortable warm place to relax with mates or in my case by yourself! There is a welcoming outdoor area with bench seats and table with plenty of room and geaters on the roof if it's cold. A curving bar where you won't wait for a drink. They do have live music as well on certain nights. For dinner I had the pork sausages which came with mash and brocolini and also ordered a garden salad. 2nd time I've eaten here and it's always good. I'd your in town do yourself a favour and past. Well worth a visit!

This place has won us over.
Came here for dinner. Picked up the Beef & Guinnes Pie and the Irish Stew, superb 👌
On top of that great friendly staff, the place is tidy and not cramped.

This is my 'go to' pub when doing a stopover between Sydney and Brisbane. It's got a good atmosphere, a good selection of craft and standard beers on tap, and the food is decent. It can get busy on a weekend night, so make sure to book a table if you're in a group.

The lamb pie was not very good, but to be fair I might not like lamb. That was my first time trying it. The bread that came with my meal was amazing. . Everyone else loved their food. My husband loved the steak sandwich and my mother in law lover the linguine. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. It has a set up we are not used to. When you walk in you grab silverware and menus then seat yourself and you order at the bar.

The best burgers we have had. We were the annoying people that order 10 minutes before the kitchen closed and still our burgers were to die for. My husbands cheeseburger with the homemade beef patty he said he could taste the salt and pepper that had been purposely put in and my grilled chicken burger with the secret sauce is the tastiest grilled chicken burger I have ever had. Even with the gluten free bun I didn’t feel like I was missing out in the slightest as it was so yum. Service with a smile. Hope this review encourages someone to come here because it’s worth it!

Staying in Port Macquarie for only a handful of nights and stopped in for a bite to eat and a beer
Genuinely friendly staff and excellent food.
Best Parma I've had in a long time. My wife had the Irish Stew with mash which was absolutely delicious.
Can't recommend highly enough. Wish I lived closer!

Rounded up to 5 stars but would've been around 4.5 stars.
Stayed in Port for 2 nights on business and came here looking for a feed.
1st night, had the Abdo chicken burger, tasty, saucy and satisfying.
2nd night thought I would try the beef burger, a bit simpler. Patty was a bought one so was a bit bland.
Portion size for each meant you weren't hungry when you left.
The real difference was the service, both nights the staff were friendly in a Cheers mind of way. Welcome you in and farewelled you, just right. The young guy who checked in on people's experience is a thing often not seen.
Atmosphere was that it was in a holding pattern, during the week, for the bigger nights on Friday and Saturday, but it was clean, bright and functional.
Would recommend for families looking for a quick and friendly meal.
Great selection of standard and crafty beers on tap, and, of course, Guinness.

Ordered steak, rare.
Steak was cooked rare.
Everything else on my plate was perfect!
Chips crispy and well salted, good quality greens of broccoli, beans and pak choy also delicious.. added garlic prawn sauce.. also great!
Just the fact they can cook a steak is (expected) buy unfortunately rare to get so would totally recommend eating here.

Nov 2021: I ordered the stock standard chicken schnitzel. It was such a busy night as well. They checked in on me to let me know if I was okay and the meal was coming. The staff were very courteous. The chicken was cooked to precision. My only regret was I didn't come during the week which is what we used to do when I went to this place in the early 2000's. I will always make a visit here each time I holiday in Port. Good people, good place.
Jan 2022: I went a second time on a week day and had the burger for lunch. A good atmosphere.
Apr 2022: I had the Monday night chicken parmigiana special it was so nice and lots on the plate. The staff were so hopeful. This place is a gem.

Nice Pub with happy hour from 4 to 6 pm. Meal are good. Large Chicken Parmigiana. Disappointed with the beer battered fish and chips. It’s was all batter and no fish. Staff are friendly.

Nice food and worth for the price. Nice drinks. Staff is friendly and helpful. A live band plays here with some good music. Full of local ladies in the bar.

My wife got the parmi which was okay, with a large portion size but over priced, a little chewy and the crumb was quite soggy. I’d give the pub another shot, but tonight I’ll be going home disappointed.

Great place to eat with a good environment. Food was delicious especially the lunch special (chicken burger). The food is definetly filling and good for the price. Staff were nice and understanding for situations. Fast food service.
One thing i did notice was that the pasta was way over cooked and too salty :/ Other than that I would recommend.

Great little Irish pub located in the heart of port Mac, with an Irish style aesthetic, live music. Nice cold Guinness and great food,

Great Delicious Dinner. Very Good Atmosphere. All the Staff behind the bar and throughout the Tavern made me feel welcome and at home. I will be returning soon. Highly Recommended ☆☆☆☆☆

Exceptional service, super-friendly and polite staff, great range of tap beer, excellently air-conditioned interior, nice outdoor area. Walked here after being asked to leave the Beach House Hotel for leaving a bad Google Review about the bad service. Night and day difference.

Can't tell you much about this place except it says live bands every Friday & Saturday so when we turned up to have a great night with a live band it ended up being just one guy with acoustic guitar ummm 🤔 did I miss something live band I think not. It looked like the older majority that was there was more interested in betting on the horses and the Friday night raffle 😴😴😵 doesn't look like much goes on in Port Macquarie anymore 🥱

Called for lunch. Meals were first class. Fresh flounder on the specials was great wife had the Guinness pie both meals were great. Staff are friendly and very polite and go out of there way to make sure everything was fine with our meals. Make sure you book a table for lunch or get in early to avoid dissapointment.

Best food we have had since leaving adelaide for our food. The schnitzel was so thick and tasty and the pasta meal was the best we have had too.

AMAZING SERVICE.
Went here when staying overnight at Port Macquarie to head back to Brisbane.
Food and service was impeccable, could not have been any better.
There was an issue with a drink, but that was resolved the second staff were made aware.
Next time I head down to Port Macquarie, I will be back here!

All meals were very nice and a hearty size , the chicken snitty was the best , juicy, fat snitty I've ever eaten accompanied by a scrumptious creamy garlic prawn sauce 😋 and mash and green's absolutely delightful
