Went into the cracked pepper room. Great meal deals every day of the week. Best to book ahead. Child friendly. The Parmas were great and you can take home what you cannot eat.

Very well run place. Staff professional and friendly and do their best with customers wanting to chit chat with a line snaking behind them. I gave a lowish rating because the food is far too hit and miss; sometimes poorly cooked, poor ingredients, cold food: at other times, the exact opposite. Sorry, but more misses than hits

Very busy place with so many different eating venues. Table service would have been better, but we had to queue to give our order. Not ideal for the elderly. Burger was ok, a bit expensive for ground meat.

The RSL had been updated since I last visited, the dining areas are less open and have a better atmosphere. The food was up to standard with a good selection.

Staff were great, food was inedible. The first meal I ordered was the lamb salad. The portion of lamb was tiny, very overcooked and cold from the fridge. The salad had so much goats cheese it just stuck to your mouth. I sent it back and asked for the king prawn salad. I waited another 35mins for it to arrive and when it came out it had four very overcooked and incredible dry small prawns that were freezing cold. The meat portions are embarrassing for the price, the fact that they appear to be serving kitchen scraps out of the fridge is horrifying. I couldn't eat either meal. The staff were lovely and refunded me. They all seem to suggest it was a problem they were well aware of and clearly tired of dealing with. How this chef has still got a job is beyond me??. The reviews are pretty consistent about the poor quality of the food and my experienceis not a one off with others here complaing of over cooked and cold food.. What a shame. Keep your wait staff, they're excellent.

Seniors meal was excellent value. Huge carpark, but it fills quickly at lunchtime, so it's better to get there early. Some staff spoke in a condescending way to white-haired customers. Most of us are not deaf or lost our marbles, and we would like to be treated the same as those half our age. Other than that, it was a great venue.

Sadly this venue has changed a lot recently, somewhat due to a front desk staff member who seems to be overseeing , criticising and speaking sharply to members. Front desk should be staffed by friendliest and most welcoming staff, in my opinion. Meals have become a bit ordinary and noise seems to be getting more intolerable when dining.

Sadly, for what is a beautiful venue, my evening was left somewhat short. The staff bar couldn't get our drink orders correct, except one lovely blonde lady. I was the only person all night who was drinking lemon, lime, and bitters with rum, yet no 2 glasses of my drink were the same. Some got lemon in them, some got lime, and some got none. Not once did i get both, nor were they juiced into my glass. I couldn't even get the same style of glass between drinks because the staff kept changing the rules on what size glass I could order. As far as food went, it was lovely. The atmosphere was great, given it Carlton vs. Collingwood, just a shame about the inconsistent service of drinks

Sadly didn't live up to expectations. The only RSL I know that only discounts 1 meal per card. No wonder the Bistro was quiet.

On Friday 9th September my fiancé and I went to Frankston RSL. We were welcomed by Maureen. Kiana and Darcy served us and Dean prepared/cooked our food. Chicken Parma and Pork Roast with Gravy, Chocolate Mud Cake with Cream, Sticky Date Pudding with Butter Scotch Sauce and Ice cream, Lemon, Lime and Bitters. We met Michael who was happy to hear that we enjoyed the food and customer service. We would highly recommend this place to our friends and family.

One of the best RSLs in Melbourne. You can tell by the huge carpark that it is very popular. The bistro's food is excellent and if you only feel for something light then check out Nancy's Cafe. The gaming room and Sports bar is great and they also have a pizza restaurant only open on certain nights. The only disappointing feature is that there is NO seniors menu on weekends and public holidays.

My GF and I recently visited Frankston RSL for dinner. Having both worked within hospitality we understand the nature of this kind of establishment. Firstly, the fact the pokies are the first thing you see as you enter the venue....I'm sickened by this. Poker Machines are a blight upon Victorian society, this is a proven fact and not just my opinion, and elderly Victorian's are more at risk from poker machine addiction than any other group. Knowing that families and their children are walking in and seeing these 'money munchers' even before they get to the dining room is a method of normalizing the behaviour of gambling to those who are most impressionable and least able, due to their age, to make informed decisions. No child should be able to see a poker machine or hear their sounds which very much mimic those these children hear on their devices whilst playing games. Now, to the dining room and staff. Upon meeting the 'seater' she didn't mention to me that there was a ramp I could use to enter the dining area. As I was standing in front of her, using a walking aide...this was just plain ridiculous. Once we entered the main dining area we were confronted by a gang of preteen aged children running around without any adult bothering to attempt to control them. I understand that, once you've sat down, had a few beers and ordered your food, you might want to release the children into what is considered a 'safe environment'. Now, for me, I am a father of three children and I have taken them to these types of dining rooms. What I have never done is allowed my children to run around, full tilt, where there are older, less ambulant people who might be effected by my children's poor behaviour. These kids were insanely tearing about the place without once being pulled into line by either parents or venue staff. This was a flat out risk to those older diners and to me. I use a walking aide currently and twice, whilst walking to my table, I had my walking aide kicked by these preteen hoons....or, as their parents would call them 'energetic little angels'. Ha! Groups of semi inebriated parents ignored what became a rather obvious and verbal request by not only me but other, more senior diners, for some control to be metered out by the parents of this rabble. Even when the staff were asked to quell the din and stop the steady flow of running children they just plain ignored us. Now, we ordered our: entree, main meals and drinks at the same time. The entree, squid, arrived in double quick time and was very tasty and cooked perfectly. The mains arrived very soon after and both meals were passable as opposed to 'great'. My Scotch fillet was slightly more cooked than medium but we had nothing to drink with our meals. My GF had one cocktail delivered and quickly asked the waiter where the second drink was. He was confused. ?? She needed to go back to the bar to review the order to show him that, in fact, she had ordered two beverages. Aaaaaaand we waited, another ten minutes(!), for a simple cocktail to arrive. We won't dine at this venue again. Not because of one thing but the total sum of the issues here are unavoidable for me. Poor service in the dining room, a lack of control of a gaggle of children and the ever present poker machine noise and overpriced meals....not my cup of tea at all. Frankston RSL, visit once, tick it off your list and move on to better venues OR avoid it all together. One suggestion: since so many of your diners use canes, crutches or walking aides, why not add receptacles to the side of your dining chairs so these items might be slotted in and kept out of the way of others/avoid them become tripping hazards? It's a simple and affordable fix which would provide safety and surety that canes etc haven't slipped to the ground, where those of us who are less ambulant, cannot retrieve them from without the help of others. I only gave this venue two stars because I couldn't give it a half star to go with the one star.

I have brought this up with you before, you are charging $50 for a steak with a small McDonald's fries, not chips, a tiny salad finished in 3 scoops. This is appalling. I can get 5 star quality at my local for less. Yet I frequent here often as my father is a member. How many more years and renovations are you going to do before you actually serve a man's size dinner? Rip off

Hit and Miss. Seriously, it's a Hit and Miss. Sometimes food comes out quickly, sometimes food come out like they had to go catch a chicken, slaughter and prepare it. Sometimes food is warm, cold or hot. You never know. I need Gluten Free and am sensitive to Lactose. Menu, has so good options but fail to deliver on what is described on there menu. I've had the calamari all clumped together,(I did have cramps after eating so not sure how they prepared them) and last night's meal was ment to be drizzled with honey youghurt. See the pic and see if that's a drizzle. It was awful mean, lamb was over done, Iand for $27 was poor form. Rest of the family had Parmas which are HUGE! They enjoyed there's besides the gravy having no flavour. People described it as brown water. Tables around were sending food back, lots of people chasing up items of food they haven't received. Table next to us sent back a cold steak, his wife's mean was hot and tastey. Seriously it's a Hit and a miss. Play ground is okay for the kids however they had tables of 2 right in front of it with just adults and no kids, didn't feel very safe. I always hate going there, but some people love I. I guess you decided when you go. Ps. Staff are good.

Hi everyone. As we all know or should know The RSL is a wonderful organization and to be supported by many. There is always a lovely ambiance. Food is excellent and we have eaten at various RLS in Australia. We are social members of the beautiful RSL in Frankston - Victoria and, we eat there regularly. Also, do take other guests as well. Whether you have a meal at the Bistro or some Coffee and cakes or sandwiches at the Coffee Shop area , you will be delighted to be served quality food. Prices are extremely affordable and excellent service by their staff. See u soon. Best wishes to all the staff!

Good. Just maybe advise diners to choose a table first before they stand in line to order, to avoid having to join the back of an even longer line next time. Food was OK, calamari were warm/cold

Frankston RSL brilliantly hosted our Season Awards event last Saturday & once again it was a perfect function. Smoothly handled by the RSL team from the very beginning of planning the event, right through to execution. Great facility, food, service & attention. We look forward to next years event already!

First time back at the RSL since it had its renovations. Loads of parking. Lovely inside, very warm & inviting at entry point. Don't normally play pokies but had a half hour to kill so tried our luck - Invested $50 & got back $50 so can't complain about that. Bistro was very spacious and comfortable. We shared calamari as an entree and it was lovely, maybe just a tiny bit oily. I had the roast pork as a main. Meat & crackle was cooked perfectly. The potatoes were a bit weird - like they'd been boiled, not roasted & had no real flavour - had to add a lot of salt and gravy. The quantity of apple sauce given was very disappointing. In the small sauce bowl, it only went up maybe 4mm up the bowl so it was only about 1/5th (if that) full. Pumpkin, carrots, beans & peas were the other vegetables. Serving size of the meal was pleasing. My husband had the scotch fillet steak but it looked more well done than medium. The salad was nicely dressed, chips were good but we had a forgetful waitress who forgot to return with the tomato sauce my husband requested. On the whole, a pleasant evening - some room for improvement but would definitely return.
