We stayed at Garden Hotel, Dubbo, while backpacking around NSW using a TrainLink Discovery Pass. Our criteria was Budget Accommodation close to train stations. Our Queen Size room with Shared Bathroom was comfortable. We used the community kitchenette to prepare our meals. Staff were a bit reluctant to let us use the laundry but did agree. We ate in the hotel Bistro on a Friday night. It was a great community atmosphere with the Salvos seeking donations and two kids' sports clubs selling raffle tickets. I always save money where I can, so am happy to 'Pay it Forward' with donations to charity. On the Saturday, we went to Dubbo Zoo by Bus. The Bus Stop is opposite the Garden Hotel, near Aldi. Zoo tickets are $6 cheaper if purchased on-line. You can also use Zoo tickets for two consecutive days. If we knew this we would have stayed longer! The Zoo has 5.6km of walking tracks in a bushland setting. You can also drive, hire bikes or electric carts. There is a veterinary hospital and platypus conservation centre - but we did not have time to check those out. Garden Hotel is within walking distance of parks, recreational facilities and Dubbo CBD. At night the main street looks really beautiful as there are fairy lights in all the trees. We plan to return!

We had the best meal here. Beautiful pub outdoor area kids playground. Great garlic bread. The rump & ribs were so tender. Love their salad dressing too. Staff were friendly, nothing was a problem. Service was great even though it was a busy Wed eve.

Very quiet and air-conditioned in the 35 degree Dubbo heat, had a chicken schnitzel with chips and salad followed by sticky date pudding with ice-cream.

The room was clean and functional... A double bed and a single bed plus towels, a TV and air con. Shared bathroom/toilets. No rubbish bin, nowhere to hang wet towels. We booked for 4 people though, so the 3 beds was a surprise, as was the shared bathroom and lack of things like a kettle or rubbish bin. It was the cheapest accommodation in town however so hey, not intending to complain. The pub beneath looked lavish and had a grouse playground for the kids. Kids eat free on Tuesday nights, so it was a shame we stayed on a Monday!

Stayed at room 8, stains on the carpet, on bathroom floor, No rubbish bin – had to use the communal one. The girl was like, "Sorry about that, supposed to be one in the bathroom, but we don’t have any spares for you right now." Our room has a broken door handle, and inadequate cleanliness with remnants from previous guests and missing amenities. Not to mention we are in a Wi-Fi dead zone, according to Australian consumer’s law, it is totally false advertising, it says it has free wifi on the hotel booking site but there’s none. customer service and problem-solving skills are disappointing. Says a lot about their ownership and management.

Staff absolutely disgusting way of speaking before the kitchen was open I'm a tourist so was unaware that they open at 5pm for the kitchen could of been told nicer it was 10 minutes away from 5 then sat at a table and the hole table of 6 people was feed except my little brother was the last one served his food had to go up to the kitchen several times to ask when my brother's food is then got his food . And the pork belly was disgustingly cooked squishy and my little brother has gotten sick .other then that everything and the rest of the food was amazing kinda and got my uncles wrong order is well he asked for a chicken bugur and got chicken schnitzel and salad.

Shouted family a pub lunch and we hadn't been there for a while , good playground for kids, while the pub is nice and remodelled well , and looks nice with plenty of room out back , the prices where one of the highest I've seen , we went sunday where there was and extra 10% as well . We ordered just one hamburger and the cheapest one we could and still cost us just under $25 wow !!!! So we shared it between the two of us, we did also got a bruschetta which was only small (compared to other pubs in the area ) and was missing the basil and red onion ( think there was about 5-6 little bits only) we got some wedges for the kids they where ok , over all if we ordered a meal each and the kids meal it would of cost a fortune, its nice just going down to the pub for a reasonable priced meal just the garden isn't one , definitely charged at restaurant prices not bistro prices.

Room with private bathroom was mouldy and smelt of stagnant water or sewage. Had to wear thongs just to shower, and left fan/light on all night just to make using it more bare able. Food and drink in the bar was great, location was pretty good especially with being across from a grocery store. Overall felt overpriced for an unventilated leaning room.

Rated only on accommodation. Booked through Agoda - no mention of shared facilities. Extremely disappointed. Paid over $100 for one night. Kitchen not clean. No stove top. Microwave only. Fridge full with others' food. Milk in fridge to be shared? Who knows? Bathroom facilities can't be rated unless you're the first to use. Following other guests meant shower has hair, soap scum, pubic hair etc on floor, toilet has skid marks, female families with ONE toilet and ONE shower!! Males had two of each. Go figure. Bed has one thin blanket - no option for extra blanket - just turn on noisy reverse cycle! Overall very disappointed. Wouldn't recommend. Pay a bit extra or find somewhere else.

Perfect for a quick stopover, comfortable beds, clean rooms and communal areas, secure parking that's locked in the evening. Great feed from the bar and good selection of beers. Can't go wrong. Thank you to Jordan (sure this was her name) for checking us in and giving some tips for our journey! 🥰

Only one vegetarian option and it was really horrible. Gnocci n wild mushrooms... felt like eels skin. Had to take back to have more cream to know it's not made with it but they reheated it with some cream and cheese. Could not eat it, texture, look, taste were all a zero. I'm sorry but I left it there 58$ later as the seafood basket cost me 30$! Unreal

Love the location, just up the road from the train station, not even a 5 minute walk. Rooms are well presented but a bit small, beautiful country pub, big play area for the kids, plenty of choice to sit relax and to eat, drink and have a good night.

I was there for a function just the other night and had a wonderful time. The people hosting the event put on nibble food but everything that came out was very nice. As far as a venue goes it’s great with a large beer garden area and a stage for live music. The acoustic sound was awesome so I’ll always go back for any live music shows. It’s also got a great kids playground and large indoor bars and dining areas. Just had a fabulous time and a night to remember.

Great value for money. Really modern hotel with a lovely beer garden. However the maid was extremely rude and barged into our room at 9.30 informing us we had until 10am to check out. We clearly knew this, hence why we were still there. Very strange to do this 30 minutes before we were due to leave the room. All the other rooms on this floor had the doors open and rooms were not maid up, so not sure what her rush was to get us out as she then sat in the communal toilet for about 15 minutes. Very weird.

Got in late, but the staff were friendly, the beer was cold and the room was adequate. The only thing I have to complain about, would be that the AC blew freezing condensation all over the bed.

Food always arrived cold. I have been here on two different occasions and orders completely different dishes. It was always bland and cold. I do like the atmosphere but after the food but cold I won't consider coming back.

Easy to book on Trip.com. This is my third stay at this hotel in about the years. This time the room card didn't work meaning a return trip down the stairs with all my luggage. The corridor outside my room stank sharply of urine and cigarettes; there were cigarette butts in the window sill. The female toilets were clean, but in the morning some guy had peed a lot on the toilet floor (the seat was up and it wasn't overflow but obviously missed his target). Having locks on the toilet doors would be appreciated, allowing women only in female bathrooms. Other than this, the linen was clean and the bed was comfortable. The tap water is terrible. I wasn't too happy with this stay.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS FILTHY HOTEL - BED BUGS!!!!||We stayed here for a quick overnight stay. It was meh, but it was a quick stay and we thought: you get what you pay for. But what we didn’t pay for was BED BUGS. I am covered in bed bug bites that have become inflamed/infected. When I approached the hotel the next day, they admitted their cleaner found them, and they were “doing the best they can”. WTF? I have chased a refund all week, and even now, days later, still don’t have my money back because of absolutely hopeless customer service (the person wrote my credit card details down incorrectly. FFS 🤦‍♀️). When I approached them to refund me AGAIN, somehow it became my fault?? Disgusting hotel, appalling customer service, and I have a body covered in bed bug bites to prove it. DO NOT STAY HERE. These photos show the bites on my hand: I also have them on my face, neck, arms and back!!!

Absolutely awful experience. Booked 2 single rooms and ended up staying in portable cabin in the car park issues were||Leaking / dripping airconditioner onto the pillows|Air conditioner that could not cool the cabin so sweated all night|Kettle could not be filled as it did not fit under the tap|Awful patches on the wall|Bin for the room was a plastic bag left in the sink for me|Really high steps to access the cabin - we are older Australians so struggled with getting up and down|No wifi - this was a disappointment as we had been travelling and wanted to FaceTime with family privately - went to the reception to ask if we could move anywhere else to be told "no sorry"

100$ for a hospital room with no amenities. Nothing but a bed, noisy, all white, smelly. I wouldn't complain for 60$ but definitely not worth the price. Won't come back and suggest to find a better deal in town.
