Gaythorne RSL

What a difference. Renovations look great and the food was good for an RSL. Hadn't been here for 12 months or so as it started to go downhill. If you are in the area, check it out.

We went for a drive around to parts of Brisbane we have not been to for many years and called into the Gaythorne RSL for lunch. What a surprise, renovations extordinare, matched with a first class lunch, friendly staff, topped off with table service. If you have not been there, go!!

We really only signed up to be a member so we could reciprocal rights to other RSLs when we went on holidays. However after coming here for meals a few times it was definitely worth it. They have a range of specials every day and normal menu all week. The food has been really nice with no complaints. They make a great LLB too! Staff are friendly. Meals arrive quickly and nice and hot. Parking is easy.

The club has radically remodeled food still good. There still buildings but if you haven't been for a while it's worth a look.

Not unpleasant. It was in the process of a re-furbishment, which didn't particularly enhance the ambience. ie I don't think it was any better than before. There was no live entertainment, although usually there has been on the other occasions we have been there. The staff are friendly, the food OK, given we had the cheapest food on the menu. We got birthday cake and drinks free which is a bonus for being a member. All up it's a reasonable night out.

Love the new dining area and as always good service and meals are perfect with reasonable pricing.

Lovely lunch. The RSL has plenty of parking. Great little venue, will be back for sure...

It's not the most attractive RSL but the bistro food was possibly above 4 stars, we had 3 meals on the 22nd December and all were great at about $23 each. The staff were friendly and service was prompt. Parking was my only issue as you have to enter through side streets and some signage had been damaged on Heliopolis Pde, this sent me back onto the main road to try again. We had a great lunch !

I think you could vary the menu every couple of months. The same food appears on the menu every time I have visited the Gaythorne RSL. Variety is required. The wines when they are advertised, should be available as quiet often when we have asked for a bottle of wine it is not available, but is on the wine list. I do enjoy the food, but I do like to see a change in the menu. The staff are very nice and pleasant.

In the past few weeks since I've had Mum staying with me, we have tried to go once a week for a great main meal for us during the day. Thus far, great meals, yesterday I had the Tuesday special: Chicken Parmy , it was so delicious 😋 I didn't need anything else until 8 PM ladt night at home lol, and neither did Mum. The chocolate 🍫 mud cake is to die for, the Fisherman's Basket is so good (is there an option to have your fish 🐟 grilled perhaps) ? The salads 🥗 on the side are always so fresh (any options to have capsicum removed as I'm intolerant it upsets my gut). The Mocha is so good, Mum always loves that she can get a pot of boiling water, milk on the side and she can brew her own decaffeinated tea 🍵 at the table (Mum's allergic to caffeine).

I heard the new Bistro is now open so thought I'd check your website to see if there was a new or updated menu. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find that no menu is available on your site anymore. So I presume nothing much has changed. That's a pity as I would have thought it's the perfect opportunity, if you are opening the new Bistro, to update the menu and offer something new and exciting for members and their guests. I do hope you take my feedback on board, as I was hoping to organise a visit with friends in the near future. Kind regards

I come here often(ish) and the food is well priced, and usually tastes good. There was one time recently where the food was not good at all, but it has improved since.

Haven't been for a while but the building work is still evolving. Lots of boarded off areas and pictures of the finished product on show. Layout at the moment is messy.

Have attended a few times and each time enjoyed the meal surrounding of the venue. Plan to visit a bit more when time permits.

Great place to have a wonderful meal and good service by all staff.

Gaythorne RSL located 534 Samford Road, Mitchelton. This is a wonderful place to meet & share a good meal, have a drink, or just relax. Gaythorne RSL, at this point in time, is undergoing a major upgrade of the gaming area, restaurant & bar area's & sports bar area. Other than that, business is ongoing on with Stage 1 almost completed. On the ground floor level, there is a large spacious seated area for dining when having a meal or a cool drink from the restaurant & bar area's. The TAB area is also located in the same location as the main bar 🍸, you can relax & watch live racing or other sports events. Entertainment is located on the ground level at the rear of the main dining area for live music & dancing 💃 🎶 The Gaythorne RSL has an excellent menu selection available that suits all dietary requirements. Children are well catered with a child caring area located near the restaurant. This club has all the facilities anyone requires, including a more than adequate gaming area with a large range of poker machines. There is an excellent Memorabilia display located on the right-hand side as you walk through from the entrance to the RSL. Adequate parking is available at the rear of the RSL. There is also extra sealed parking available on an adjoining property. There is excellent disability parking available just near the rear entrance with a ramp for anyone with wheelchairs or mobility scooters. The Gaythorne RSL has two levels with internal access stairs, which leads to the RSL Sub Branch, where veterans see an RSL advocate for any service related issues. Making an appointment in advance is advisable. Also located in the upper level of the RSL is a large auditorium where corporate engagement or RSL activities are held. Gaythorne RSL is located within walking distance to the Mitchelton Station & Brookside Shopping Centre. Both places are located in Osbourne Road. There is also a designated Brisbane Council Bus station on Samford Road near the Gaythorne RSL, with regular services available. There is a courtesy bus service available. Food was very nice and very quick. Staff were very helpful and very friendly. It has improved a lot and it will be nice to see downstairs when it’s finished.

Food is good here but price is not . Bit overpriced for an example calamari is $22 and chicken parmigiana $25??? Even a rump steak is $24. 😵‍💫🥲 Anyway carbonara is pretty awesome

First visit to the recently renovated club. Very impressed with the new dining area and with the service, staff and meals I had. Can recommend a visit to Gaythorne RSL

First time back after the renovations and loved it. We have 7 of us, all with meals that got served quickly and eaten (3 of the 7 were kids so that is a big achievement!) Will be back!

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch here, last week. Food, staff and renovations were amazing. Highly recommend anyone to go there.

Delicious lunch. Chicken Snitzel (Senior's Size) and a cold beer. Lost on the pokies but had fun.

Considering they are going through a full renovation customer service was A1 meals were large hot and delicious. We will return😌large party of 12 and all were happy. Well done team

A great local RSL with a gaming room & TAB! A dining room with excellent specials & members receive a birthday cake & 1 free drink! You receive a sheet of discounts for your birthday in the mail a fortnight before! On Saturday there are raffle tickets sold for cash prizes & meat trays while you listen to the male entertainment! A one man show! There us a music venue upstairs where I seen the rolling stones band on New Years Eve! The Gaythorne is available for breakfast on Anzac Days for members!

A friend and I decided to have dinner here. It was so good to get into the air-conditioning. The club is currently undergoing renovations, and the bistro has currently been moved upstairs whilst this is happening, See the attached photo. So, Friday is Reef & Beef day. The steak was cooked perfectly, but the garlic prawns were a bit meh, but still delicious. I am looking forward to seeing the Club after the renovations have been completed.
