You can smell the smoking area from inside and up stairs. They still use plastic straws. Staff are good food is alright. Front looks tired and grubby.

We had originally booked Bar Ombre for my girlfriends birthday..the treatment we received 'trying to book the place & get hold of someone was absolutely ridiculous! By the time we received a rude confirmation we decided to spend our money elsewhere. We decided to pop into General Bourke personally. We had three days to book something. We were all stressed & dissatisfied. We met Josh. Josh was calm & collected. He informed us that we were able to book the private function area & do what we want to set it up. Not only were we celebrating my girlfriends birthday. My bestfriend was proposing! It was such a phenomenal experience with the help of Josh. Thank YOU so much Josh for everything. Thank You Teegan for your awesome customer service. The food was incredible. The staff were wonderful & because of your professionalism Josh we will definitely be back.

Wouldn't recommend going here at all, even if it's your last option, because going home would even be a better alternative. The piss poor excuses they call security left me absolutely baffled. Myself & a friend were forcefully yanked at, nearly off our seats while a security guard stood less than a metre away & watched as we tried get some guy to let go of our arms. When the security guard finally came & intervened it was too late as the guy had finally let go of our arms/wrists & left us alone, leaving red marks where you could literally see the hand print of where he was forcefully squeezing our arms. Honestly a joke, don't recommend.

Worst place!! I wish i could give zero stars...security guards look for any excuse not to let you in if your a guy..total joke....we were looking at having a drink after a meal and refused a member of the groups saying he was drunk when he doesnt drink....security guards look for any excuses...will not go back for a meal or for a glass of water....dont go..its gone down hill....

Worst customer service by far. Extremely disappointing we wouldn't recommend anyone to go there. We organised our Christmas party at 2pm to be there and no one has advised that the kitchen closes at 3. When we tried to order food one of the staff was so rude and had the worst attitude ever

Will not hesitate to rate this pub 5/5. Always have a great time here whenever I am in Parramatta. I was brought here by a friend in 2017 when it used to be known as PJ Gallagher's Irish Pub. Returned in 2018 and just recently--days ago. Ordered a glass of sauvignon, fish and chips and caesar salad. Huge! Ended up bringing some leftover food to my hotel which is just across. Atmosphere is serene even at their patio. Enjoy seating outdoor. The service crew is warm and friendly.

Witnessed a security guard walk up and punch a lady square in the face! Nothing short of a coward act, hopefully someone has the recording for assualt charges on the poor lady

What a disappointment! Was invited there for dinner and had a booking only to be told by the manager shortly after arriving that kitchen was closed, she was unapologetic and did not care so we ended up going somewhere else for dinner. Even her manager wasn't helpful and no AC!

We went to the old Pj Gallagher a couple of weekends ago for a feed and drinks for a friend’s bday.. The food was amazing and the drinks were great! The staff was attentive there was a skinny manager with dark hair in a low bun I forgot her name but she was very friendly and extremely patient as the time went on we become more rowdy. Thanks for not kicking us out… Great atmosphere and look forward to having a feed and drinks again real soon! 🫶🏼

We're looking for a place to eat, a little bit of a scroll through the google map, and there we found this place very close to our job site. We decided to give it a go and tried their ramp steak. It was delightful! I'll definitely come back next time!

Went to drop my partner for a work function at 7pm Saturday
Decided to go at 6pm so I could grab dinner and disappear before her work function began.
So I thought I would order a quick steak sandwich. After an hour I was told it was 5 mins away very sorry would I like a free drink. No thanks. Just dinner so I could leave. Finally it arrived at 7:45pm. The person who delivered it tried to say the printer stuck. Oh so just my one order was stuck in some printer. Funny it was taken on a hand written docket which I could clearly see being used in the kitchen. Why not just say look we stuffed up. We are giving you a discount but nope they put the hand out for full price. I guess they couldn't care less. Unfortunately for them social media does..

Went here tonight and after 3 schooners and over 1 hour by which time most other dinner venues had closed I went back to the bar to ask where my food was to be told they couldn’t make that tonight… terrible.

Went here for a drink after work and the bouncer made me walk around the ropes where people queue even though there was no one waiting outside, then when I got to him he said I looked intoxicated even though I hadn’t had anything to drink and been working all day. When I told him this he asked where I worked and I told him, he then said I was lying because I didn’t walk the way he thought I should if I worked there. Skinny blonde Caucasian guy with gel in his hair.

We had my sons 21st birthday there. I can not recommend it enough. The food was great, the atmosphere wonderful and best of all was the staff. Peter, Josh and Jack provided the best customer service I think I have ever had. They were an absolute pleasure. Thank you.

We frequent this place a lot and usually the food and service are quite good. Today, however, I ordered a plate of food with what looked like hair in it. Very politely asked the on-duty person to take a look and confirm if it, in fact, was hair or was I mistaken.
All I got in return was "Honestly, I have no idea." With no effort to find out what it was or to apologise.
Careful what you order. I doubt I'll go back.

We decided on an impromptu meal here the other night. Location was handy and the vibe of the place was terrific. We made our way to the seated area in the restaurant section and ordered a bottle of wine and an entree and main each. The service was great and friendly however the timing of our meals was not well planned at all. We received our entree and then less than 5 minutes later our main was on the table as well, feeling extremely rushed and now something had to be sacrificed with heat. I do recommend dining here as the food was delicous however I would suggest you actually make sure you ask for your food to be timely spaced out in delivery to table

Visited here while staying in Parramatta Holiday Inn, which was very convenient, being just around the corner. Meals at General Bourke were great at a reasonable price and fairly extensive menu. Staff were friendly, and amenities were clean. Highly recommended for quick meal lots of seating for small and large groups.

Very poor customer service with lazy staff. Bar tender refused to give drinks on Saturday 2:30 am (22nd October) and told us bar is closed. Manager and bar staff were enjoying talking to their friend in gaming area instead of serving people. Refused drinks to people who were playing as well as people who were not playing for various reasons even though pub was nearly empty. Need a management overhaul for this pub. And floor was expressly dirty with water spilled everywhere.

Today i very unimpressed with there lack of help with kids food menu and there choices.... my kids and i where looking forward to having mash & vegetables with there fish.
But only fish and chips was on the kids menu .. When i asked can i replace the chips for mash or veg (healthier option) the answer was a straight NO ...
They wanted a extra $9 for mash & a extra $9 for veg.... so a extra $18 for 2 extra sides on the kids menu! ( wow )
My mate also ordered a steak & asked for extra mash ( once again he was charged €9 )
We wont be back.... prob hints why there was only 3 people in the restuarant !

This very good watering hole that I enjoy so much has lost a certain amount of appeal for me. It has changed. Of course it is not the venue but the atmosphere. On a recent visit the cliental seem to have changed along with the steep increase in prices. Parramatta has become a destination for travellers staying at the many hotels in the vicinity. Holiday makers usually has more funds than locals so as a result times, circumstances, and the general atmosphere has changed. As a venue to visit, well I am simply running out of venues. This pub has a bit of a reputation for being wild on a Friday/ Saturday night. It usually attracts a young (18-20 year olds) crowd on those nights. They have quite savage security on those nights too. However, if you're loking for something more sedate then dinner on a weeknight is probably more for you. They have all the traditional pub grub type menu items, but done with a touch of class and flair. Its slightly more expensive than regular pub grub, but it's good quality food. If you want something cheap, then they have special deals each weekday evening. You can usually get something decent for less than $15, which is good. They have a TAB area and a poker machine section. You can get complementary snacks in the gaming area. There's also a pool table in the main bar area. The night club section is upstairs, which is popular on the weekend. The beer garden is lovely and a very enjoyable place to sit for quite beer in the afternoon.

This place used to pump now they have no real entertainment the place is dead. Karaoke is new but wasn't busy. Mostly older people. This place needs an overhaul & back to live music & DJs to bring people back! I was shocked no CC & Dry on tap either!

This is the kind of venue that you want to love. Good decor and a nice bistro area with outdoor seating. Food was a bit of a hit and miss. The lamb and scotch fillet were amazing, on the other hand the prawn linguine and the rigatoni were average (at best). What really left a bad taste was the service... The bar person had one of the worst attitude I've ever experienced. After putting our order through, we were told by another staff that they ran out of an item we ordered. When I went up to the bar to put in a replacement order, I was told to go tell the kitchen myself because he couldn't put it through. There was no other customer waiting and there was no effort made on his part. Fine. Not a big deal. It got even worse when later on I went up to ask for some tap water for the table, I was given ONE glass and pointed to a tap at the bar. No further explanation given. Will definitely not be back.

The staff where excellent. Had some lunch, stake hamburger and chips was very expensive ok the servings will be large .when the food come out very prompt . I have seen biger kids meals than this at half the price. Thinking to my self this is not pub food . when I left the pub a signbord displayed. Blar blar gourmet food .which means ad $17 to your food and smaller servings.

The food is great. But they never seem to get our booking right. Twice we have had a work function with over 20 people booked and confirmed. Both times we turned up and they didn't have our booking so we stood there all 20+ people for ages while tried to seat us.

The food and the service were excellent and I quite enjoyed playing pool with my 13 year old lad that is allowed in the pool area. Me and my girl and her lad had a wonderful time. Thanks General Bourke, you are our go to place for family pool games.

The bourke has changed tremendously since the new owners took it on and gave it a tasteful renovation. It's the best pub in Parramatta now with a great irish pub type vibe and most importantly terrific pub food. Pastas are great as are the pizzas and burgers. Snittys are generous. A very different pub to what it was 20 years ago. The publican Peter is doing a great job.

The bistro provided lousy service and was very disorganised. The staff members were arguing behind the cash register. We booked a table for 12, arrived on time, the booking was on their iPad but there was no table set up. We set up our own table so that crisis was averted. Food was delivered sporadically even though it was on the same order and table number. 30 mins from first meal to last meal. Not a great experience. The food was ok.

Terrible😑😑 went to have a meal, drinks and dance for my sister in laws 21st bday. After finishing our meal we were told by security we had to leave because one in our party had had too much to drink (she had not touched a drop of alcohol yet) We hadn't even started our night! No one had touched alcohol yet. Blatant display of racism and stereotype. We were told to leave this is after just being there for an hour AND paying a cover charge. No refunds. First and last time! Thieves! We went to another establishment and spend our money where we were treated with respect!

Terrible service even though we visit every week .. the manager lacks etiquette’s and customer service . When we complained the dish was undercooked and was smelling weird, the staff said we can refund or change the dish .. I said I don’t want a refund and change the dish and pay the difference. The staff comes back and says manager said no . The manager said I checked the temperature and it’s fine and expected us to eat the same dish after touching the wings with his hands and trying to smell and said can’t refund and can’t even change the dish . I advised keep the dish and keep the money .. certainly need an educated guy who can manage the expectations and do what is appropriate.

Terrible food and worse service. Manager doesn’t know how to handle food complaints. Overcooked steak and the manager said it was fine in her opinion. I couldn’t be bothered arguing with somebody who doesn’t understand how steak should be cooked. I went out for talk on the cellphone and when I tried to return I could not. Then, least than one minute, I saw girls leaving too but the girls could return. When I asked the security guard why I could not and the girls could he said just get out of here.

Started kicking out patrons who weren't intoxicated 5 minutes before midnight on new year's eve, which is sad to see from a venue which is trying to re invent it self by changing its name back to its original one. Because it shows it just the same old place and nothing has changed. is run by security guards who are menacing and trying to police the venue. Drinks are priced like you are in the rocks but it is sadly not. Just bland DJs no entertainment. Still remains tacky putting on male stripper shows to try their hardest to attract females to the venue.

So sorry to have stopped here. Service appalling. Kids meals small we had to share our meals with them.. Had steak sandwich the bread wasn't edible. Waitress and chef having a screaming match about to many orders. Only one other table in the place occupied. Same slop served to them.

Since the great old General Bourke has been returned to its great old name I have been busting to go and check it out , I went to the food garden and went with my daughter , the food was fantastic and prices were great , we were surprised we didn’t hear and of the noise coming from church st from all the cars and trucks . Well worth going there and having a lovely meal

Saturday dance is always the way to go and meeting people every time i go there and making new friends is why i was going back but due to recent experience i feel it is not a place for business mingling. The security guards should be fired and get new team who know their job.If you are paying them to be rude and disrespectful then keep them. you are losing local business people within Parramatta because of your pathetic guards. I wish i could come and train your guards of customer care because i am coming 5 star customer service be it at the door or inside you still have to maintain customer care. Bar staff are polite and know their job but the rest of the team need proper training to retain customers and generate revenue. The drinks are at a reasonable price and music is average depending on the night you go some nights we dance to bands some night Dj, i normally just go with the flow however recent experience was not the best. They must be crazy and sick in their head they refuse me entry against when are they going to learn this security guards are sick mainly I know because of this review. Sat at the end of the bar , only person at the bar , got ignored by 3 wait staff . Approached them for a drink , finished my drink , no body offered to get me a refill , thought maybe I was sitting in the wrong spot , attempted to find a clean table to sit at . There was none , got static from the wait staff when I complained about the dirty tables , considering there was more staff than customers .
Absolutely disgusting service , walked out . I’ll never return . Shame on you !

Rubbish as I ordered a $10 wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce and they did not include sweet chilli sauce and sour cream with the purchase and wanted to charge $2 extra for this despite the menu including sauce and sour cream.

Recently went in happy hour which runs 10-5 PM Mon - Fri. The place was literally empty maybe 4-5 customers tops, 3 staff.
Went to the counter and asked which taps are on happy hour to be told have to have a card,to sign up and have to go in the sports bar.
I showed them their own advert from their website where none of this was stipulated.
Was gonna sign up but the whole attitude of the two staff whom I encountered was pretty bad.
Hence just told them I'd go elsewhere where I would be welcomed.
Rather pay more to be welcomed and greeted with a smile.
Jobs worth.....empty bar.... Poor staff.
Try yourself if you don't believe.

Pre booked a table for a work lunch 2 weeks in advance, confirmed the booking the day before and they said it was all good. 30 of us then arrived and they did not have any tables for us told us they forgot. We have them the benefit of the doubt and then rebooked another work lunch two weeks later, called the day before to confirm and again we show up with no tables set up! We waited 20 minutes whilst they set up a table for 30 people, they even kicked other people out of their seats to fit us, absolutely disgusting. Never coming here again absolutely incompetent.

Plenty of space. I only go there rarely, and usually outside of general busy times. Naturally I sit alone, sometimes in the courtyard or else in the designated smaller smoking area. I like the sound of the music they play. Also, because it is out of the way of the main shopping precinct, there are not too many people just dropping in. When I am there it is usually quiet and I am able to enjoy a quiet drink on my own. Of course I write for myself. Not many patrons would enjoy or appreciate the kind of atmosphere that I do. Great pot plants outside, that look most attractive in summer. Everybody has different tastes and just as well too. Good Bye. I forgot to mention, there is nothing wrong with the service or meals.

Over priced under staffed, except the security staff, every time I turned around, looking at me like screws at a prisoner's BBQ, if only they had of taken there schooling, that seriously. Yeah ok big guy your probably really strong. Looks like you could bench press you're way out of any situation. But I'm a punter paying customer. I'm wearing Ralph Lauren, very low on the bar-dar, would it break your back to grab a mop, and wipe all the spillage on the tiled floor, smile crack a joke as you pass me. Hey I'll give $20 if you do it right like that.

Overall food was ok….just got snitzel and
Chips (extra chips) instead of salad. Got about 10/15 chips. But food was tasty just minimal. Drink was good,nice bar,clean and spacious. But by god that barman SAM with blonde highlights….what a rude pig. Absolutely no manners and I witnessed 3 seperate people say ‘you know what cancel that’ while I was there. Definitely needs re training.

On Sunday! Went to pub at 11:30 and close time was 12! Girl at the bar refused to serve and said we are closed! And the stupid excuse was that only VIP bar is open! When I told her that official timing is 12 and she said you have to put money into the slot machine! That’s the way they blackmail customers and force them into gambling! Will offical complain to relevant authorities about this!

One of my acquaintance told me to order rare if i want medium rare as chef cooks rather too much. So i ordered rare and voila, the meat was rare :-|
Maybe next time i will order medium rare, chips and salad was nice. I ordered pepper sauce but it didn't have much flavour. Meat had too much tissues it was hard to cut and chew.

Once upon a time
I came in with an office group today.
They mixed up our table number with another group which created a mess of orders coming out with wrong or missing things any who after 1 hour we managed to get served and eat then i had to remind them of my dessert order and it was beyond disgusting I'm sure it was either off cream or they put sour cream in it but it was NASTY.
I informed the waitress and nothing was done as per usual.
I went to to kitchen staff who said it was yogurt.
I asked him to try it, he wouldn't.
No apologies, no testing their products they just dismissed me it seemed like they were just trying to get rid of me rather than treat me as a customer.
On top of that the amount of dressing used in the salad made it feel as if I were drinking it and the chips were undercooked.
The table behind us had issues with the steak and staff kept bringing out the same dish despite the person saying that it was not theirs, then staff sick a flag in it to say that was that. They were very disgruntled as we got to hear it during the entire lunch.
I left the sour dessert on the counter for them to take and walked out without an apology or a refund.
Never again will I visit this establishment.
TLDR: food sucked, off and sour food and wrong orders.

Nice place to have drinks & catch up with family and friends. Decor is up to date with big screen TV inside & outside the outdoor area. Pokie room is very neat and clean it smells very welcoming.Bar & gaming Staff are very warm and bubbly and very attentive. Only criticism is their bistro serving of chips! small portions of fries that comes with main meals is so 2 thousand & late🤨Chefs need to be heavy handed with their serving cos it's an adult meal not a kids meal! Never recommend this place, one of the staff was arrogant towards our team. We used to be regular customers but not anymore. This kind of Attitude is not appretiated.

My recent visit to General Bourke left me thoroughly disappointed, primarily due to the abysmal customer service provided by staff member Rebecca. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt suffocating, largely attributed to her unwelcoming demeanour while i was standing to make a drink order. Rebecca's attitude was overwhelmingly negative, and her lack of professionalism was glaringly obvious. It's disheartening to encounter such poor service in an establishment that should prioritise customer satisfaction.

My mother and I visited twice during our stay in Parramatta before the Ed Sheeran concert,
The lady who served us both times and remembered us, seemed to be the manager. Was very lovely, up for chat and very friendly.
The food was brilliant at good prices as well.
As a manager at a pub myself, credit is due to this place.
Will definitely be back when staying in Parramatta again.

My husband and I are visiting from country NSW and staying in a Parramatta Hotel. We walked to this pub this evening about 5pm intending to have a drink and a meal. When we arrived, there were very few patrons, but bar service was difficult. There appeared to be one girl to tend to at least two bar areas. As the crowd grew, it became near impossible to get bar service - there was an orderly queue stretching back at least six people at a time. To purchase three beers, we spent a total of 45 minutes queuing. When I questioned the man who had told another disgruntled patron that he was in charge, he was extremely rude, blamed problems with tills which had been playing up for a week and told me that if I didn't like the service I should go elsewhere. We did. The owner(s) of this pub need to employ a reasonable number of staff who have at least basic customer service skills. Our advice - go elsewhere, anywhere else

My friend and I tried this place the first time on Friday 09/02/2024. We both had rump steak as a weekday lunch special deal. He had medium rare teak and I had medium one. We both loved the food as how good quality of the food was. I would give 5 stars if the service was quicker and if the lady at the counter greeted and smiled with us (maybe she had a bad day but it's free to give a smile to someone especially to the customers as it will bring more to the business).

Location is good for a 10 minute walk from the train station, which you will want if you're having a few pints. There is some parking but I wouldn't count on it. Price of a pint has steadily increased over the years so I travel here much less and have subtracted a star. Pub food menu is okay, but I wouldn't travel for the food, it will be those pints of Guinness and Kilkenny even if they are pricey. Generally I go here for the UFC when it's a key event. It can fill up for some boxing and UFC events, but usually there's a screen and a comfortable place to watch.

I went to this place a number of times and celebrated my 30th Birthday there.. While the building is a heritage one you the place is quite modern and flashy, beautiful, clean and offers good customer service. Food menu has a variety of delicious items. Talented Live music bands play on Saturday nights sometimes.

I used to go here all the time back in the day. One memory that sticks out the most is when I went here to watch The 2009 Grand Final between Parramatta and Melbourne. The whole pub was Parramatta, blue and gold everything and when Fui Fui Moi Moi scored that try people were swinging off the big amps on the stage and dancing on top of the tables.

It's the closest pub you can have a Guinness when you are in the Parramatta region. The place is nice, they have good variety of beers, wines and spirits. Never tried their food though. I just think the staff could more friendly.

The food is very expensive for what is a pretty basic menu, the service is slow and they frequently make mistakes either with orders or the bill.
Gotta love paying $2 for a tiny plastic cup of gravy when you order a schnitzel...

Horrible place. The bald guy at the bistro absolutely horrible customer service. One of our meals didn’t come after being there for 50 MINUTES!!! Ended up getting a refund and a “sorry” but seriously a LUNCH time order is not hard hey.
Not to mention the below standard food. Seriously if you have tastes buds you’re better off going to maccas. The schnitzel was barely schnitzel- dry and tough and THICK w the coating following off. The chips were ok, but the winner was the salad with no dressing LOL. Even plain old vegetables are better than this place.

Hard to give a rating above 1 star when I’ve spent all night and day with the squirts and vomiting after dinner last night. To make things worse we spent a good $160+ which has not made me a happy camper. I have an inkling that it was my replacement scotch fillet steak that somehow was extremely tough despite being cooked closer to, but definitely still over my desired medium rare. My family ate while I waited for my meal to be made again. Not a great experience. I’ve been coming here since it was PJs well over a decade.

Had our Xmas function and was by far the worst customer service we have ever experienced. The staff were lovely, however, management refused to turn the air con on, kept lying as their excuses changed each time we enquired and no apologies or compensation. It was 41 degrees and our event was due to start at 4pm and we couldn't buy drinks at the bar until 4:30 PM. We had over 140 people and spend thousands of dollars at place who did not care for the well being of their guests. If you are planning on having an event here, be very aware and run as far as you can !!

Had no one at the register even after asking where the bistro was then was told that there was a Sunday fee as well as a 3 dollar take way fee ( which isn’t a problem but I called up and asked if they do take away and if there was a fee but was told no) then when getting ready to eat the 15 dollar Nutella pizza the bananas were old and dark brown I can not believe that they did this!!

Great pub, I love it. Nice tidy comfortable environment, furnishings are well maintained. I don't know why but the customer vibe is chilled out, people are not yelling and shouting they're just acting polite and relaxed. Good sound system, with the easy listening dancepop, just the right volume, I even shazamed a couple of songs. Welcoming, respectful staff just doing a good job cause they totally know how. Great variety of seating, well designed, you can find your preferred little spot to sit. For me, i like to sit out of other people's faces, and that was possible here. I had a double beef burger, it was very good, they really nailed the sauce and pickles. You guys tick the boxes in the best kind of way. Happy customer here thanking you for a pleasant afternoon.

Great place, fantastic service, great seating arrangement, but ordered Scotch Fillet for two, asked for medium and medium rare but both were medium. And my gosh the meat was still like a piece of leather, chewed each mouth for at least 2 minutes and still couldn't eat it.

Fantastic venue, lots of quiet nooks, pool and good eats. I was having a horrendous day and knocked my beer off the table, bar staff told me the replacement was on the house. Such a wonderfully sweet gesture, which I repaid with more visits to the tap and bistro. Exemplary establishment and team!

Fantastic landlord- we were totally soaked after watching Maroon 5 at Qudos Arena - arrived for a last beer as holiday inn bar closed !!! EDIT 2: new $12 lunch menu is a great step. Food is good and came out quickly. Upped my rating based on recent experience.
EDIT: last time I went here there were no lunch meals under about $20. You could get a better meal at Hannah's, Macchina or Little miss Collins
I've been happy with the food.
Mon - Thurs $15 lunch specials are ok.
Waited over an hour for lunch in a group despite booking ahead which is disappointing. (Happened twice).

Eating here rn got the roast of the day which was chicken, 4 thinly sliced pumpkin and roast potatoes for $18. The chicken was very dry so didn't eat much of it as shown in photo. Also had buffalo wings they were yum but not served with any sauce like at all other restaurants. Overall probably won't be back. It is a nice tidy clean place though just didn't meet my standards I guess

Drinks and bar food always go hand in hand, the atmosphere was lively with a fri night raffle and pool table available, wouldnt recommend getting pizza's here as they need more work and was subpar compared to the likes of Domino's and pizza hut. But the usual bar food such as the parmi and the friendly staff definitely brought this place up, would visit again.

Does everything you would expect an Irish pub to do and consistency across the PJ Gallagher chain is very good. We went down there for St Patrick's Day for my mum who is Irish and we had the Guinness pie and a few pints with my family. Good time had by all and it was relatively busy for an Irish pub in Parramatta.

Chicken wing entree was raw and the seafood platter was even worse. The mussels were shrivelled and had beards still attached the Lobster was burnt and dry. We advised the staff but they didn’t care. We ordered Jack Daniels and coke which tasted funny ( I think the glass had soap in it) advises staff and again they didn’t care. I will not be back. We were a table of 7 and no one left happy.

Came here last night and likely the last time, ordered our drinks and food, my partner had her food brought out and waiter took the number away?? usually you would like to eat together with your other half, right ? Yeah no, not in this case they clearly forgot hence taking the table number.. I received my meal a solid 30 mins after she received hers, after complaining.. and it was sure nothing to write home about. Now for the drinks...
$13 for a pint of Guinness is outrageous. And waiting a solid 5+ minutes for it once back at the table "we'll bring it out to you" I had to go over to collect it several times after looking at just sitting on the tap.
Stop advertising as irish, madness!
Proper irish pubs around youre looking at $10 for, by no means is this an irish pub as advertised, maybe once upon a time but no longer.

Big fan of the GB! I come here frequently for a few drinks or a dinner - the customer service is fantastic (even though they can sometimes be understaffed). Keep an eye out for Valentina in particular! She always makes me feel so welcomed and is incredibly hospitable.
The only downside is sometimes your steak is over cooked, but it happens in a busy kitchen so won’t fault them for it.

Bar staff is what a 5 star means to one star but the Manager ( Asian dude ) full of ego has some mental issues . Unreal what I faced today for just sitting and listening to music on my AirPods and not speaking to anyone . Apparently occupying 90% of the empty machines ( where every one loses ) was my fault ))
This Nepalese or Bangladeshi guy as manager turning a PJ obrien into deserted island and on top kicking off people who pay his boss even with quiet drinks … HIGHLY UNRECOMMEMDED… crazy experience 🙈

The parmi sauce was just like a red and bland..The oil they used had kinda smell to it..

At least here I can post my review, unlike facebook where I am blocked AFTER their paid staff post their reply to the review, cowardly. People serving alcohol in this establishment need to apply their RSA training more often, rather than provide people the opportunity to get too intoxicated and then kick them out for the public.

A nice pub with a lovely atmosphere. We ordered a steak and quinoa salad for dinner, both were cooked beautifully. Staff were very friendly making our overall experience enjoyable. Would definitely have a meal here again.

Always perfect food and service!!
I visited here today for lunch 🍴and the experience was outstanding!!! The staff were super friendly and helpful and provided great service. The food was extremely fresh and delicious, with the steak cooked to perfection 👌 Great vibe with some fantastic live music too!!
They have a variety of sport showing.

A lot of older adults there, so different. Nevertheless it's a fun place and everyone's in a great mood :)
Unfortunately on a less than good note the opening times provided are disregarded as they state 9 am on weekends where is the cleaners have informed me that the manager does not arrive until 9:30 or 10 o'clock so out of the near 500 reviews , some of them can't be good I possibly could understand why considering the times that have been put there by the business themselves are either incorrect which would be management issue or they are correct and the manager does not get there until slightly later it is also a management issue PJ Gallagher I apologize but I have to drop my style where has to be more accurate to the cause and I surely hope that this improved as first mentioned it is a good place to go and the managers and workers that I have met also great people

After booking for 20 people, we were told, as everyone went to order that the menu was no longer available and that they could do 'fish & chips'. The manager thought it was a joke and quiet funny, letting us know that 'we have a function of 300 up stairs' , suggesting we were not a priority. Rude, no food available and all on a Friday night at 7:30pm. Needless to say they are a terribly prepared business.

About 8 people and myself went to lunch yesterday, somebodys leaving where I work. Had two beers and a Ceasar Salad with smoked salmon, the rest had pies, burgers, schnitzel. Everybody thought it's was good food. Beers were good. Some locals were having a beer, it wasn't busy, staff were nice and friendly, food didn't take very long either. Overall a decent pub I'd say.

This is not the Opera House on the harbour. I will return to my local for a fair and realistic price.
