Wow what a gem of a club, the staff and super friendly, the meals were large and very tasty the kids play area was huge and such a welcome after 6 days of driving from Brisbane with a 5yr old, i think other clubs need to take a look at this club and step up. Oh and the cherry on the top was a courtesy bus to and from our Caravan park. Thanks for a great meal and night out

Visited this place after 3 years andLove this place food staff are awesome. Lots of space to move around. They have a small kids area now
Would be nice if they can bring the bouncy back or make like a adventure playground
They also remove the playarea for kids in the club. Please bring them back. My kid used to love it

The meals are value for money and the portions are out of this world. Always worth a visit when in Alice Springs!

The food is AMAZING. Especially the butter chicken and the chicken schnitzel. I highly recommend for your family to go there. Don't worry about getting viruses or the flue because the Gillen Club is super clean.

Place was chaotic and our table very dirty. We waited for well over an hour for our meals after being told they had run out of chicken schnitzel which was half our orders. Replacement beef schnitzel was awful. They forgot my meal so by the time that was cooked everyone else had eaten already. It was however the nicest meal. The salad bar was very disappointing with bland salads and hardly any variety. Great kids playground though.

Not the best club in town but a decent place to chill and put your bets on. The staff are hot and cold depends on who's serving you. The food is typical pup grub nothing fancy about it. Can take a very long time for your food to be served because there is a lot of people ordering. The lay out of the bar and service needs rethinking to cater for the large number of customers that go through this place. They have a good keno/betting area to chill and a fantastic outdoor area for adults to hang out and for children to play on the play equipment.

Love the club. Great food at an excellent price. We became members today. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The only thing we think you could change, would be the shuttle bus. It would be great if it ran everyday and maybe start about 11.30 for lunch. Thanks Andy and Deb Willetts

Indian female waitsatff very rude
Rolled eyes when asked for takeaway containers, dinner cost $400 and she was very unpleasant to deal with.
Chicken burger patties very dry and tasted like oil.

Im a fly in and out worker so for convenience we go for tea a couple times a week, been doing this for couple years. Have been to the gillen club lots of times and truth is the meals are ok (pub type meals). But customer service is terrible. The staff are rude and need to be taught how to respect customers. I know finding staff in Alice Springs isn't easy. But I'd rather run a business with limited staff than with rude staff. After reading the comments on this you would think management would do something about it! Time for us to find a new local. Bad form gillen club.
Not sure how I reply to you so ill let you know here. I'm not sure who the person in charge was but I've had way too many meals there to count but the service is generally average. But food is cheapish and ok. It's certainly not the first night that we have had bad service. Sat back last night while eating our tea and decided it would be our last meal at gillen . Shame cause we always go to Sunday roasts. Because you had a function we sat where we could see the staff in the bar area and was just amazed at the way they interacted with each other with the security staff infront of the patrons. Maybe it's time for the owners to have mystery patron to visit and just sit back and watch how things are. By the way this is my first negative review ever but I've spent alot of money at this establishment and I think patrons should be treated better.

I have been into a few clubs during my travels but this one was just a club. The food was ok but wouldn't warrant a return visit. Staff were friendly.

If you go to the Gillen Club for a meal you certainly will not leave hungry. During recent work in Alice Springs I visited the Gillen Club twice, once for lunch and a second time for dinner. The meals were typical pub food, simple large filling serves at a reasonable price. I certainly will drop in again on my next visit to Alice Springs.

If you are in Alice Springs with your family or even on your own come here. Food and drinks were excellent and cheap, I had the Cajun Chicken burger it was awesome.
There is also a large playground and a jumping pillow.

Great place but they won't let me call the badge draw, even on my birthday. The purveyors of raffle tickets stand at the front behind a podium like lords, instead of wandering the club like they used too. The baby's change room is also a squalid mess.

Good restaurant. We can go with our kids they can play in little playground. Vegetarian option is available. Nice and clean.

Gillen is a local family sporting club who give plenty back to the community. There is a wide range of beers served ice cold, the food is good. The staff are friendly, and the venue has lots of space for kids to play and run around outside. Would recommend as a great Alice Springs Pub

Gillen Club (Gillies) will always be special to us! Each time we come here if its been 2weeks, 2 months or a couple of years, we are always welcomed, thanks Gillie, yr forever outstanding & in our hearts with your amazing establishment! Cheers!😆

Friday nights have happy hour, Kids meal free with adult meal purchase and kids movie night on the outdoor (covered) big screen. Not to mention a nice and sizeable kids playground, small open field and big jumping pillow, perfect for family night out!

Food was ok fairly average meal. Very noisy venue with lots of children late at night. Not a good adult atmosphere. Female Toilets were filthy!!

First time eating here with my family that I was visiting with...have to say very underwhelmed...I ordered the veggie burger...pre frozen not made in house...the other meals were not that great either...My kids wanted to share a nice dinner experience with me while I visited...sadly lacking in presentation and flavor...being the week of the Finke Race I would have thought better output of food would be a priority when having many people coming and experiencing Alice Springs...thankfully we have better dining experiences in smaller owned venues...where the food was creative...presented well...and tasted amazing...sorry won't be back...will support the smaller hospitality businesses.
