Yum good with a bunch of lovely people working there. Live music on the weekend and free game of pool 3 days a week ( turned the kids into professionals) 😜

Was expecting the food to be "pub" average, but was greatly impressed. Wonderfully cooked slow roasted. Good flavours and tenderness. Even more impressed when the chef realised my partner waving two fingers meant we need cutlery and not F you.

Very disappointing. I was in the middle of ordering my food, and it clicked over to 6pm, as I’m ordering 3 main meals to get 3 free kids meals (as advertised) and he tells me he can’t do it now as the time has changed to 6pm (free kids meals were 5-6pm.) In the middle of the order! Too bad. $39 extra please.
It’s only a small issue, but puts a bad taste in our mouth. Doubt we will return.

The Golden Sands Pub in Nambucca has undergone a fantastic transformation, offering a fresh atmosphere, exciting menu, and a vibrant ambiance. It's a must-visit spot, and I'll definitely be returning!

The food was delicious, wait time wasn't long at all. The staff are friendly and felt like family. Definitely recommend going here. My children participated in the Music Varingo and it was an awesome experience. Won all the rounds. If your thinking of taking your family to a decent place, this pub will always be my personal first choice. Definitely will be coming back more into the future.

Staff were brilliant; bar staff member was knowledgeable in her wines & could make great recommendations. We sat by the kitchen and were able to watch the chefs cooking which was fantastic; they seemed so professional and respectful to one another, and they were so lovely when we collected our meals. The food was divine; prawns and squid were perfection and so delicately cooked. I loved the two different salads they were served with. The ribs fell apart as I picked up each bone; so tender and flavoursome. The steaks were cooked exactly to order; this chef definitely knows steak!!! Would have loved a kids area but I know they can be hard to manage and maintain. All in all we could not have asked for a better night tonight ❤️

Our dinner at Golden Sands was great! We had 12 in our group including a few kids, we almost all had different meals and each one was delicious. The waitress in the restaurant was amazing - her service and how she approached the kids was lovely. The guy behind the bar was so friendly and good natured.
Would definitely come back next trip to Nambucca!

Not normally one who particularly enjoys a pub, bistro or tavern, but the food here is worth tasting (and reviewing). The tavern’s decor gives away no hints of its kitchen mastery. Tastefully presented, the fish risotto and salmon dishes here were truly delicious. Highly recommend!

Not happy at all, first orderer meal's and unless I had decided to see if possible to change my meal, wouldn't have gotten any as they couldn't find the order as it hadn't gone through on EFTPOS and didn't even come and say anything
When served got salad and chips, I had ordered steamed veggies and chat's, the bar girl told me she would order some veggies to come with it and just eat what I had so it wouldn't spoil, lucky as I had just about finished the meal when the veggies arrived, couldn't eat them anyway, had a weird taste and some were sloppy and way overcooked
My husband had ribs which for the first time we've ever had them had no sauce, which is usually served with a smokey BBQ
Ohh well first time we've ever eaten there and definitely the last

Not a big fan for families with kids. Kids free meals were disorganised and didn't come with drinks or ice cream as advertised.
GF and Vegan options for one of us ended up not being available as "the menu is wrong".
Other items were great.
The atmosphere is just not there, it's a big dining hall and overall is missing a lot of heart.

Nice Tavern in Nambucca Heads. Food very professionally cooked and presented. We had the Duck spring rolls. Hubby had the T-bone steak, cooked medium/rare as he likes it. Whiting fillets were crispy and they do gluten free as well. The mains came with chips and the salad on the side was a good mix, not just a few green leaves strategically placed on the plate!!

Just a modernised small town pub. Not a lot of atmosphere. But I must admit to a bias, I love the older country pubs (like several in the Hunter and all round the country). And I hate the pokies. We did not eat so I cannot comment on that.

I got the $18 Wednesday night special ( prime rump with veg & mushroom gravy) and my partner had the flat head, chips and salad.
We waited a little bit but the wait was worth it, the food was absolutely amazing. The lovely ladies in the kitchen were working very very hard the entire time and with the biggest smile.
The entire staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.
We go out for dinner in Sydney a lot and to some pretty nice places, but I have to say It is the best meal I’ve had in a very long time!
I can see how much effort and pride they put into their work. If we are up Nambucca ways again we will definitely be paying the sands a visit!

Had dinner here with friends and had a good experience. The food was great, nice and fresh. Staff were pretty good as well. It's a very local style tavern with surfboards for decorations. Pool table and some gaming machines and a nice little TAB betting area. 😀 will stop here again when we are staying up this way

Guy with the backwards cap and tattoo’s behind the bar is weird and petty. Will not be back completely rude and confrontational been here for many years was always a great vibe until he was there but not going back!!!!!

Great Regional Pub! Some tired furniture and paint but adds to the charm of the venue. Great food although took some time to come out. No cider on tap but does have bottled option.

Golden sands has been the go to for years for my partner and I also friends great staff fantastic food however the new bar manager bloke with the glasses and tattoos was very rude and confrontational towards my partner and I this afternoon and made us not want to return, Very unfortunate 👎

Food is good for the reasonable prices. Oysters were passable, a little small and could have been colder.
They were obviously understaffed as we waitied 45-50 mins for our food. Was told no seafood pie and there was no feta in the roasted vege salad.
Service at the bar was very freindly.

EDIT --- it's a shame that they didn't stick with the way it was for the first few months.
Food has gone down in size but still charging the same, chips are dry and unpleasant to eat, pay for Turkish garlic bread but get served 4 tiny pieces of French bread sick, schnitzels have shrunk in size, no longer dinner specials on a Monday night. Dinner will now be had before we come as it's just not present.
The public are voting with there feet as this time last year Monday trivia nights were packed with teams and the bistro was buzzing now it's dead and only 4 main teams remain.
The new chef and menu is amazing.
The ordering system is a pain, not sure why they changed the location of it from the kitchen to the bar but it now takes ages.

Awesome place to enjoy cold beers great food with a friendly atmosphere. The staff were amazing, polite, helpful and always smiling. Definitely worth a visit but give yourself longer than you plan because it's a place your not want to leave..your comeback for sure as I will. Thanks Golden Sands made a short trip more worth it...outstanding and the bar ladies keep smiling

Apparently in new hands. Atmosphere not as welcoming as before but obviously a work In progress. Mixed reviews on the meals from our group but generally pretty good... It is a pub. I missed the ribs from the menu.
Definitely family friendly, which is nice.
Looking forward to seeing what they do with the place. I hope it keeps it's warm atmosphere.

Amazing business, I was passing through right in closing time. They stayed open to help a traveler out and it turned out to be the best Indian I have ever had. Can’t suggest this place enough! Whether you are a local or a tourist this place is a must!

A great pub. A large selection of beers on tap. Very friendly staff . Modern, clean comfortable interior. The food was AWESOME. We were there on a Wednesday night, steak night. My goodness, my husband had the steak, the best quality, cooked to perfection. And $ 23. Sooo good. I had the fish and chips. I was very happy with my choice too. Cooked in a very light batter, excellent. Congratulations guys, loved it.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING service..the staff are so friendly , relatable and FUN ! kid friendly MASSIVE WIN 👌🏿 the food is absolutely divine!! All kitchen staff never fail to deliver the absolute best of the best meals, Each and every time ! weekly raffles .. punters club. . free pool days .. definitely the place to be in the valley.. props to the new owners and staff .. absolutely smashing it 🔥
