Went to the tavern for a Christmas party, was amazing, kind staff, friendly security, absolutely fantastic food with a lovely welcoming atmosphere, 100 percent would recommend.

Was there for a bday dinner. The access to the bar and dinning area was excellent, the food was also excellent, good size serves at reasonable prices ....the beer was cold, and a great variety of beer to choose from, however no light beer on tap had to purchase bottles if your driving and want to drink .

Was fine for a small pub. Food was good. Smelled like an old pub. Nice verandah eating locations.

Very busy on a trivia night, lots of families. Nearly half the menu items were unavailable and the waiting time for food was around 50 minutes, once you got a table. No bookings. Food was good with larger portions at a reasonable price

The Staff are friendly and helpful and Rooms are clean and comfortable. A great location at which to stay in Lismore!

Staff seemed like they didn't want to be there, ordered a haloumi burger got got haloumi and a handful of rocket. No sauce, no pumpkin jam, just haloumi and rocket. Burger was tiny and not worry the $19 price tag in the slightest.
You would think that something a tavern would be good at is burgers

Solid choice to catch-up with friends or relax after a big day/week.
Food was well above your standard ta ern feed.

Saturday night. An excellent meal was has tonight. Well presented, fresh and tasty. Staff work hard. There is a separate space for smokers, but every time the sliding doors were opened, the smoke would pour into the main bar. I thought at first this was a smokers only venue! This has to be fixed.

Pros
-Old school friendly service.
-Mainstream beers and some surprises.
-For the price point you literally wont find better food in the area with unbelievably fast turnaround times. (takeout available)
-Good disability access to entrance, parking and toilets.
-No overbearing music.
Cons
-A few of the couches need replacing but are manageable.

Omg the food is amazing and so bloody delicious. Great value for money. Service is fantastic as well.

Just had a great meal here, came for the Monday night roast, which was plentiful and the veges were fresh and perfectly cooked. All staff were lovely, from the bar to the servers to the kitchen. I asked about gluten free and staff were excellent at advising what contained gluten and what they could offer as a substitute. I was able to have both the main and and the entree choices I wanted with a few tweaks, and they were delicious. It was so refreshing to not have to spend more to get less because of my food intolerance. We'll be back.

I've always liked this pub. It used to be my local 10yr ago and I drank here daily. The food has changed over the years from Chinese through Mexican to basic bistro. I would've given 5 star axcept for the food on this visit. Ordered 4 things. Thai Beef Salad, Chicken Parma, Pepperoni Pizza and Spaghetti Bolognaise. The Thai beef salad was good 👍🏼. The Chicken Parma was OK 🫳🏼. The pizza was not good. The thin crust was OK but that's where it stopped. The Spaghetti Bolognaise was slop. I think my dogs would've turned their nose up at it. It looked grey and the pasta way over cooked. Having said that, the service is good and friendly, the pub clean as always and great atmosphere for a family sit down. Only thing was my young son said the chef had the personality of a cane toad. And I had to agree. Pubs good guys. Just the food needs to be more consistent.

I have been to the tavern many times and consider it a wonderful place with great people. Last Wednesday night, I felt like a good steak and ordered a 500g potion. What a big mistake. It was not palletable. After chewing for 5 min the lump of meat was painful to swallow. I took it back to the chef. Who said nothing and did nothing. It was the most disgusting piece of meat I have had the misfortune to purchase. I will never order meat from this chef again. A disgrace. Order drinks, fish or pizza. Do not order steak whilst this chef remains there or until he learns how to prepare steak.

Had lunch here today the food was great and the prices are very reasonable. Make sure you get a voucher at the bar to save an extra ten bucks of your food bill. The lunch specials are a great deal on Mondays,Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Top place to eat

Had a reservation booked, they confirmed name and amount of people over phone but when I got there they had the numbers wrong.
Food was horrid, had my guests order medium-rare steak and got rare and chicken was dry, also had people tale chips back due to it being cold or not what they asked for and the chef's (people dealing with food) were rude and arrogant except the bloke with Indigenous flag printed on his shirt.
Will definitely NOT be dining here again!

Great food, but I think they cater to much for the 7 or 8 people that want to play the quiz games so the whole place has to hear it. It's hard to have a quite meal with friends.

Goonellabah Tavern has great pub and restaurant style meals. It caters for functions as well as offering a varied timetable of social and sporting events.
It’s a venue that is every locals address book and is also an integral part of the local scene.

Expected something fairly standard and instead got a quality bistro menu with excellent specials. The celeriac and potato soup with chorizo was really delicious on a cold day in June.

Dropped in for lunch and it was amazing. Tasty meal cooked to perfection in every way. Great value for money and friendly service through the bar and restaurant.

Called in for lunch, what a surprise. This place is fantastic, food is great. Extremely well done ,and plenty of it . We were totally shocked ,at the meals coming ,out of the kitchen,they all looked spectacular. Give this place a try .

A real gem of a place. We're travelling from Brisbane to Sydney, from the UK. we stopped locally and were recommended this place. The steak, burgers and fish n chips were excellent. One of the best meals we've had . Friendly staff and great location. Would highly recommend.

Always good food, and you can't beat the lunch deals they're generous and tasty. The Thai beef salad is one of my favourites.

Absolutely Devine meal. The Hawaiian Parmigiana was excellent as were the freshly cooked veges and the beer battered chips to die for👍 The other meal of 500gm rump steak was out of this world, medium rare to perfection and so thick plus the salad was fresh snd crunchy and once again the chips …. Oooh la la ✔️|The staff were very friendly plus great to see Ginger Beer on tap. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality, we will most definitely be back as great value for money and we even able to take half home, we thanked the Friendly Chefs 👏😆

$25 for parmy and get served half a parmy. Miserly. Thumbs down from me on that front. Going to maccas for a Big Mac now because I’m still hungry- shouldn’t be the case after spending $25. My family were pretty happy with their dishes but they’re old and don’t eat much.. I paid less money for twice as much at the wollongbar tavern. Otherwise pretty convenient and laid back venue.
