We renewed our Membership last Thursday and were looking for a great night out together.
The lil lady on front desk amazing service. We ordered and had to wait 45mins. There was no interaction from wait staff. .my hubby ordered snags Mash peas gravy. Peas were missing just Mash 3 skinny sausages and bit of gravy. I ordered ribs chips salad. Ribs were tender but dry no marinade they were Luke warm. Chips were same Luke warm and salad was limp. 2 small thin slices of tomato's chopped onion pieces and 2 pieces of cucumber made up the salad. Sorry but we won't be back. Couldn't get waitress attention so we just left.

Went to Goosies today for a meal after my dad's bowls day. First time ever. Well, the food was bl00dy amazing! My sister and I had the calamari with chips and salad; super fresh, delicious and PERFECTLY pan fried calamari which was so soft and succulent! Dad had the special which was a crispy chicken and bacon burger, again it was faultless! Meals were HUGE! Dads a member (see why!) so the calamari was $14!!!! Wish I took a picture! The staff were super friendly, accommodating and very efficient too!

Went out for lunch , great meal as per usual.. Staff are amazing and to top it off won a meat tray.

We had Mother’s Day lunch at Goosies. Service was good at the bar and wait staff. The biggest and most important downfall was some of the food. 3/4 of an hour into the lunch period there was only one roast meat to choose from 3 available. Ran out of the other 2. Veggie serves per person were all over the place size wise. Chicken snitzles and chicken parmigiana are no longer fresh they are pieces of frozen chicken about 1 to 2 centimetres thick and very small in size and not enjoyed by those that ordered them. Prize drawers are now so much smaller in numbers then they used to be in numbers. What is going on? Will not be thinking of coming back to soon or recommending Goosies ti others if their is the cuts they are making but charging the same or more. Disappointed for sure ti what it was . Will be going elsewhere for value to money .

We came out to share a family night. 11 persons. The meals were all consistantly awful, except for 2 meals!!! Overcooked chicken on burgers, roast pork tough as old leather, chips cold and floury( like yesterday's reheated) crumbed steak more crumb than steak. Salads some come dressed and others didn't. And a meal forgotten or made wrong! Just overall we were very disappointed, especially when you pay good money to eat out. Also bar staff were not welcoming or helpful!!
I will say 2 persons in the group did not have a problem with their meals..

Was a member for years, but after the abuse I got from duty manager for moving tables with permission from dinner staff and no response from formal complaint from owner I will never return l.

Was a great place... has gone down hill fast ... staff not very friendly and have no idea about customer service.
Charge a yearly membership fee.
Food is generally pretty good and reasonably priced

To say I was disappointed was an understatement. We waited an hour for our food...with many customers arriving and placing orders after us receiving their meals first. I ordered a seafood basket. It was shocking. I could have gone to coles freezer aisle and done better. Sorry goodies you are not even close to what you once were...this is my first bad review about any food establishment.

This is a hard rating. Because the people were 5, even 10 stars the whole way. But when we ordered Canadian Club with Ginger beer it was awful. Couldn't taste ginger or alcohol. Others were asked to taste and help us with this judgement. Even the vodka and orange juice tasted no alcohol. Are they watering down the alcohol... From then we bought sealed containers of alcohol and very reasonable prices.
The bowling was great and our host deserves a shout out. Even the last kids enjoyed it.
The food was okay... BBQ function menu. So no warming equipment were used. So even 10 min after food was made available it was cold. No salt or pepper was available, I had to go through the restaurant to find some flavours which almost every person at the tables used. Patties were rare and not eaten by most.
What happens to left over food. If the host paid for it, why don't they get offered to take the food home.
So high 5 to staff, query to the other things...

Steaks were great.
Beers were cold.
Can't ask for much more than that

Some of the pork was dry and the crackling was super thin and yuk. They made the apple sauce and I didn't like it at all.

Really enjoyed the beef ribs here, super tender & delicious, cooked to perfection. Pleased they were able to accomodate my healthy request of switching chips to salads. Staff were all lovely & friendly here during my visit. After your delicious meals, head down to the gaming machines for some fun & entertainment before calling it a night. Will be back for more :)

Pretty good menu, nice clean atmosphere. Gets a bit noisy during lunch but that's to be expected. Lovely staff!

Ordered feed at 12.03 & @ 12.45 it rolls out to the table.
We were the 4th to order.
Nice feed but the loooonnnngggfeeessstttt wait ever.

ok so 11 members of my family booked in advance a table 4 a nice early dinner out lastnite at ur establishment greeting at reception was gracious all was well until 2 of us went up 2 get just 3 drinks 2 b met by sumbody who more then obviously did not want 2 b there n made that quite clear wen she served my mother n myself!!! Nobody else at the bar this woman should not b working in hospitality with the public no matter wat her poor excuse was 11 members of my family will not b coming 2 ur establishment again becos of that woman... Sunday afternoon 5..30... rude rude rude omg did I 4get 2 say rude... all other staff were friendly n busy... sweetheart it costs nothing 2 smile n greet ur customers with a hello atleast n my family paid 4 ur wages that day so next time u taking sumbodies money which is ur job do it with a smile hey n a bit more grace... we did not offended u, u offended us!!! Disgraceful, no excuse was worth ur attitude I am not a review writer but I thought this was kinda worth a mention... plenty of happy people out there looking 4 work.guys with personality 2 go with it... 11 people can make a big ripple effect!!! Thanku 4 taking the time 2 read my comment...
Oh ps I really hope this person is not in any sort of charge, that could explain why nobody was at the bar... savage!!!

Like coming back here. Spent $100 at the pokies and won $1000,by getting one Major and one minor jackpot in 15 minutes. Not a bad outcome. Of course I went home with all my winnings.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Went for dinner today and Food was disgusting, unless you want to get sick I suggest you stay far way.
Such a shame, my family & I come quite often here but after how the foods recently been we won’t be returning!

Great service at Bistro. Fish, chips and salad was delicious. Sticky Date dessert was amazing. All positive except for a member of staff talking to clients negatively about other members of staff. We were there for a positive experience & didn't need to hear her negative comments.

Great food and service. You can eat quietly. The music is soft. Chai is amazing. You can get a jug of lemon lime and bitters without ice. Pri es are reasonable.

Duty manager Darryn can't handle three people at a bar, ignores the cafe for 20 minutes before leaving to type up a note saying it's closed. What the actual - maybe he's better suited to a bar full of miners rather than here or better still, in a non-customer service role.

Come on guys. Usually the food here is decent. Like a home cooked meal from a good amateur cook. When you live around the corner, its a good place for a quick unassuming feed when you're too tired to really care. But with only 2 orders waiting and me being one, why did it take over an hour?
Admittedly, I forgot to order gravy but that should not have required me asking staff to grab me some nearly 15 minutes after I came and paid for a side of gravy (as soon as my food came out & I realised I'd forgotten). It literally took 6 seconds for the chef to pour it into a small dish in front of me, hand to staff then to me after I asked the 3rd time. Filo wrapped prawn twister toppers were soggy! Not oily soggy, just undercooked soggy.
Also coleslaw is not just a bowl of raw cabbage with 3 carrot strands. Supposed to have vinagrette or mayonnaise, you know?
Steak was decent but that takes 6 minutes so overall bit disappointed in my local.
Staff, as always though, are awesome. Love the girls & I would not have had gravy at all if not for Courtney! Not their fault the chef literally throws out the crackling on pork roast, despite members protests!!!

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. The kitchen didn't open until 6pm.
My friend and I were the second people to order where we were told it would be a 45 minute wait since the was only 1 chef on.
I ordered the parmi and my friend ordered the topside steak. We both couldn't finish our meals due to the quality... We waited a long time for a greasy, underwhelming meal. We will not be returning.

After waiting over 1 hr meals came out cold some of the meals did not have what we ordered very disappointed won’t be going back

1st time there & was impressed. We were unsure of the dress rules, but we're allowed in ... we were dressed in clean casual. Will go back for an extended time when next time in Mackay. The only downer for us ,was no Courtesy Bus & as we both enjoy a drink. I realise it's an expensive issue, but maybe you could charge $ 5 a trip to soften the blow...
