We've been here on nights out plenty of times however we decided to pop for lunch one weekday and the food was incredible!
My partner had fish and chips and I had the Smokey Pig burger and both were so tasty and the portions plentiful. Prices are also really reasonable.
Staff here are also really friendly and helpful.
I would highly recommended eating here!

We lived in this hostel for 1 month and a half .
At first , when we arrived in Bundaberg we had terrible experiences , so many hostels around the city that ask you too much money for rent and bond . This is the only place in Bundaberg where no one asked for a bond and it is the cheapest place.
Melissa and Nicole are the managers of the hostel and they are lovely , they always try to help you in all the ways . They love their job , and you can feel it every time that you talk with them .
We didn't work with the hostel because we already had job when we arrived in the grand hotel , but all the jobs that they offer are really good , you can work in a packing shed or you'll get a regular picking job .
We really recommend this place , for sure it is the best in Bundaberg , all you need is around , even if you don't have a car .
Without any doubt , this will be our home every time that we will be around the area .

We lived at the hostel for 3 months to do farm work. Melissa and Nicole are fantastic managers! The hostel is really social and we were encouraged to make the it feel like our home. A great location being close to amenities, bars and clubs. Bundaberg is a good place for consistent work, you may need to wait a little longer to get on an hourly paid job, but you get reduced rent when not working. Remember, it's the staff and other guests that make the experience!

We googled places to eat in Bundaberg and after discovering most were closed on a Sunday night, we stumbled across this hotel. We are so glad we did as the salmon with cauliflower puree was one of the best I've had! The music playing and friendly wait staff were also great!

Unfortunately this was a let down. I had high hopes since it was revamped and reopened. The feels of the place were good. Atmosphere was good. There have been mixed customer reviews. Very hit and miss. We went there twice in one week for work functions. My order of medium rare steak was well down and like leather. 1 meal was forgotten. And 1 other had a shard of glass under the plate. Gave to the waiter and it was lost somewhere in between the table and the kitchen.
Second visit I ordered the fish and chips. Unfortunately the fish was like a mushy slop. I hope they find their feet soon.

This is the worst/dirtiest/ lying hostel I've ever been too. My girlfriend and I were told there is tons of work and we needed to get there as soon as possible. We paid for a week and all other fees they made us pay. No work all week. They told us there was no work and they wouldn't give us an money back. We met people that have been there waiting for work for multiple weeks with no money left. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!! They will screw you over.

This is the only place to stay in town. Melissa is really great, runs a tight ship but is passionate and looks after everyone very well.
I think the farmers know that this place is good cause they get workers from here often.

This is the best hostel you can stay in bundaberg to do your farmwork, so chilled, I had so much fun and the manager Melissa is like a mum for all of us, love her. Those has been the best four months of my life, no doubts.

The service is rather confusing and slow, took to long to receive our drinks even when it was so quite (only two other people dining in) the Lemmon lime and bitters was horrible, and the beer was flat and tasted of tap cleaner... rather disappointing after all, it’s a pub, they could at least get the beer right. Oh did I mention $10 for a schooner... not happy and will not be coming back.

The meals where quite large, but there was nothing really under $15, unless u want a kids meal.
Otherwise the vibes where really nice and it was done up really well. It kept the social distancing rules in place very well.

The hostel tells you you'll work when you actually won't, then it steals your last dollars making you clean the hostel AND pay the rent.
The only thing it does "good" for you is that it gives you drinks if you leave a comment so they get a better rate.

The food was wonderful and cooked to perfection. I recommend the pork cutlet dish, it was exceptional. The staff are friendly and warm making the whole experience worth repeating.

Steak was nice but a little over cooked. that was it. Mushroom sauce was unseasoned white sauce with few mushrooms. Asked specifically for no chops and recieved burnt chips that had consistency of oil that had been used for a week. Chicken parmy was not nice either. Thankfully Staff were friendly.

Ordered the beer battered barra and would have rated it higher except that it was not drained very well and caused my chips to be swimming in oil. The fish itself was lovely.
The chip serving was generous but the salad had no tomato and was a lot of lettuce and red onion.
Staff were all very friendly and we didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive.

My wife and I had fish and chips, Meal was OK but expensive at over$22.00. I asked for a can of coke and was served the smallest coke can I have ever seen. Did not know that they even made them this small. 2 mouth fulls at the most. Will not be visiting this place again.

My husband and I decided to eat here tonight unaware that it was St Patrick's Day.|Fortunately for us there was a St Patrick's Day special with a choice of four meals - $20 for two meals so I choose the cottage pie and my husband chose the roast pork served with mashed potato with cabbage, carrots and zucchini.|The cottage pie was cubes of delicious tender beef, fresh mushrooms, yummy gravy and topped with mashed potato and cheese, served with a salad.|The food was very good value for money - nicely presented and very tasty. |Washed down with two glasses of a drinkable sav blanc for $5 a glass I would recommend a visit here.

My husband and I both ordered the 200g rump steak from their daily specials board for $13. We had chips and salad with this. We ordered steak to be cooked medium rare and it was presented perfectly. Very reasonably sized steak, delicious & juicy. The two young female staff were very friendly and always had a smile. We would certainly go back again.

I had an amazing time there! Its just one big family where everyone gets on in a great environment thats better than the other hostels. Mel and Nicole were fantastic with us. They were friendly, kind and honest. It was sad to leave but I'll never forget the place :)

Honestly had the best 3 months doing farmwork at the Grand! 13 straight weeks and we were done, on a really nice farm! ||Mel was the best and was literally our Australia Mum! Wouldn’t have wanted to do it anywhere else 😊||Couldn’t recommend it more! Thanks Mel

Had my Daughters 16th Birthday Dinner here. The service was impeccable. Fiona and the team went above and beyond to make sure we had a great night. Thanks. The food was great too.

Great experience ! Cosy as spent 5 months working on boons,, staff were awesome Tiffany shakira tiny Tracey mmm yummy met some real good people bed was comfy as food was lovely and the Italian french girls who kept me accompanied on them lonely nights !thanks guys cheers highly recommended it top place .

For starters we waited over and hour for entrees. Received two of the three entrees. Then our mains before third entree. No sauce with the wings then was give wrong sauce again. Garlic bread was almost stale like. The one pasta on the menu was bland and tasted like flour. Hair found in mushroom gravy. For $10 the kids pizza wasn't worth it.
I understand a wait for meals when busy but over an hour for entrees is unacceptable.
Won't be returning.

Food was good but took 2 hrs from time of order, to when we were served plus there was very few people ordering a meal so there should not have been a reason for it to take this long

Food is absolutely fantastic, try the cauliflower salad! It took over an hour and a reminder to get our meals but I think it was a tech glitch in the till system.

Do not go here for work or stay over! The hostel is bed bug ridden, with very little being done about it. The kitchen is disgusting - frustrating that people can't clean up after themselves but there is no actual cleaner there to clean it either. There is no work, we were promised 13 weeks work, there never was 13 weeks work just 2 weeks but they kept insisting there would be more work in order to keep us there paying the $180 a week. Alot of the backpackers there had been there for well over 6 months getting their visa days that should've been done in 13 weeks because they were getting work 1 or 2 days a week and then in debt for paying for accommodation. We had two convicts who had just been released from prison staying there, one was a diagnosed schizophrenic who hid the knives in his room! The only thing I have to thank the Grand for is the 9 days towards my 88 days and the few cracking people I met there! If you're looking for visa days go direct to farm if you can and avoid working hostels.||Most good reviews on here have been paid with alcohol!

Dined at this Hotel. Had a lovley steak dinner, Both meals cooked to perfection, great service ..... Only niggle .... Lovley steak was topped with what tasted like maggi gravey.||It really deserved a home made sauce in my opinion. Beautiful sweets too

Best location in bundy! Clubs pubs and McDonald’s all outside your door! Free Wifi was great, Melissa was always there to help with anything we needed. Rent is cheap and I even got a
Private room for my last few weeks for the same price!

Asked for a well done steak and received a very charcoal lump which was inedible, which had to be returned, luckily they replaced it with no drama and it was cooked correctly. Drinks were also seemingly forgotten and needed prompting before we received them. Not a great first impression.
